4 Boaters Saved as Sport Cruiser Destroyed by Fire in Lake Simcoe

Four boaters were saved as a twelve meter Maxum sport cruiser went ablaze near Big Bay Point, on Lake Simcoe, to the South of Ontario, Canada on the afternoon of Sunday eleventh October, 2020.  The boaters were first assisted by a nearby boater, who pulled them off the water.  The York Regional Police attended to the fire first, with other help coming afterwards from the Orillia, Oro-Medonte and Rama Fire Departments.  None of the boaters were injured, with the fire reported to start from an electrical issue.
The Maxum sport cruiser in this fire is a 4100 SCR as produced from 1996 to 1999.  The 4100 SCR was Maxum flagship at release and was replaced by the 4200 SY.  Maxum was a Brunswick created brand existing from 1988 up to August 2009.
