Classic Hatteras Saved from Sinking in Johnstone River Queensland

An unattended classic sixteen meter Hatteras yacht was saved from sinking, as it started to take on water as it was moored in a marina on Johnstone river, North Queensland, Australia on 07:00 morning time of Thursday fourteen May.  As the classic yacht was taking water, it started to ascend dramatically on its port side.  Innisfail Police, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, Cassowary Coast Regional Council staff and local business owner Joel Solinas joined forces to save the yacht from sinking, by pumping out the excess water.  The classic Hatteras was saved from sinking as the crew pumped out water, eventually righting itself, with its Ingham residing owner delighted of all that was done.
The Hatteras yacht in this sinking is a 53 Motor Yacht as designed by Jack Hargrave and produced from 1969 up to 1988 in over three hundred units.  The 53 Motor Yacht came out as a replacement to the 50 Motor Yacht, and was replaced by the Hatteras 54 Motor Yacht.
