Project: Baglietto 44m Open

Baglietto, the historical boat builder from La Spezia, Italy, presented a new super sport yacht project pencilled by Francesco Paszkowski Design in Miami during an event held at the Casa Tua restaurant. The new project is for a new 44m Open, continuing Baglietto’s long-standing tradition of Super Sport Yachts, which in the past had already made the brand’s success with yachts like the 28m launched in 1994 which for  a short time was the largest open sport yacht, and the follow up to this model as the 32m 2004 and 34m in 2005. Consistently with the boat builder’s will to reinterpret its precious heritage in a modern, contemporary style, the new 44m Open stands out for the great live-ability of both its outdoor areas and interiors, while preserving the aggressive look and impressive performance of a sporty craft. Two possible layouts are available, with four or five cabins, as well as a third option in which the main deck can be raised, making room for a larger master cabin. A wide sunbathing area with a small custom-made pool can be found aft, while a second living area located forward allows to enjoy the sea view in the utmost privacy.  Power for the 44m Open will come from twin MTU 3589hp with top speeds of up to 27 knots.

New Model: Baglietto 46m Fast

On Saturday May 7 Baglietto lanched the 46 m, hull #10221, marking the birth of the La Spezia-based boat builder’s new Fast line. This super yacht is an evolution of previous models, but also ensuring great continuity with the brand’s tradition, the result of Baglietto’s cooperation with Francesco Paszkowski Design.  The launch ceremony took place at sunset at the Baglietto shipyard at the presence of the Baglietto top management and workforce as well as local authorities as the Major of La Spezia Massimo Federici, the President of Confindustria La Spezia Francesca Cozzani, the President of the Port Authority Lorenzo Forceri.  Following in the wake of the sleek aluminium planing yachts that have made the brand’s success all over the world, the new 46 m Fast stands out for its streamlined bow and rakish lines expressing a strong personality, but can also boasting an imposing stern, thereby maintaining the family feeling with previous Baglietto yachts. The trapeze-shaped windows in the hull alternate with rectangular ones arranged on two different levels, enhancing the slender shape of the hull and giving a more contemporary touch to the yacht’s highly charming outer profile. Another new element characterizing the exterior lines is the compact shape of the superstructure, which is not too high to enhance aerodynamic penetration.  When designing this new Fast, great care was also devoted to maximizing the outdoor areas, so as to allow passengers to be in closer contact with the sea when both cruising and at anchor, and to enjoy conviviality in the open air. The aft area of the upper deck is indeed like a huge open terrace overlooking the sea: featuring teak floors, it can be furnished with a large table and a spacious sunbathing area.  Fitting-out operations are now about to be completed in the interiors, which have once more been penciled by Design firm Paszkowski and architect Margherita Casprini and stand out for incredibly spacious volumes for a planing super yacht of this size.  The warm shades of rosewood alternate with the colder white lacquered ceiling and side panels, resulting in very refined, contemporary, stylish interiors. The traditional layout offers four en-suite guest cabins on the lower deck, and the master suite featuring an office, a dressing room, and the bathroom located on the main deck. The upper deck is large enough to host a comfortable salon with lounge area, the captain’s cabin, and the helm station, while the crew quarters, on the lower deck, include four twin cabins plus a single cabin and the dinette.  The yacht, entirely built in aluminium, will be pushed to a maximum speed of approximately 28 knots by twin MTU 4615hp engines. It is classified with Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and compliant to MCA standards. During the evening guests could visit the 43m Pachamama and the latest launch of 54m M/Y Unicorn. The Baglietto 46m Fast will be a worldwide premier at the next Cannes and Monaco Boat Shows.

Project: Baglietto 48m Displacement

Baglietto is going through very exciting times: after the launch of the 46m, MV13, and a 43m the Italian boat builder is now announcing a new work order for a 48m vessel to a Mexican Owner.  This latter project too, which is the evolution of the 46m displacement model, will be signed by Francesco Paszkowski Design and will draw inspiration from the traditional stylish features of Baglietto displacement yachts. It is expected to be delivered in 2017. This new build is indeed marking Baglietto’s entrance into the Central American market, which has already showed great interest for the La Spezia based brand. Besides the 43m model launched last July 25th, by the end of this year Baglietto will also launch a new Fast 46m vessel. The planing range will be completed by an entry-level model, 38 meters in length. Entirely designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design too, the displacement range will include, besides the 48m, a 54m to be launched by the end of this year, a new 43m and a 55m, whose construction was recently started, as well as the projects for a 58m and a 62m.  These two lines, which represent Baglietto's core business, are sharing the spotlight with the MV range; a modern reinterpretation of historical underwater assault vehicles with the introduction of the MV19, the larger sister of the MV13, whose first hull, the LAP-1, was recently delivered to its renowned owner, Lapo Elkann.

Project: Baglietto 43m Fast

Spacious volumes characterize the new aluminium Baglietto 43 m Fast yacht.  This new model in the fast line marks Baglietto’s new era following its acquisition by the Gavio Group and inaugurates the range of new Fast crafts designed by Mr Paszkowski. While preserving the sleek and aggressive lines that have always been a distinctive feature of Baglietto planing crafts, this project distinguishes itself for a new style. The leitmotiv across the entire yacht are brightness and a focus on conviviality: from the large skylights in the ceiling panel in the entrance on the main deck to the dining room, which – thanks to a mobile partition can be connected to the galley and the dinette, creating one single open space ensuring a wonderful convivial atmosphere.  The night area is entirely located on the lower deck, where the aft full-beam master cabin stands out for its wide spaces and large glazing, ensuring an impressive brightness at all times. The fore outdoor area is extremely innovative: conceived as a living area, it includes a huge sunbathing area offering a magnificent view and, at the extreme bow, a heated Jacuzzi. The aft cockpit has been fitted with a modern system of canopies allowing to close the entire area, thereby ensuring the utmost privacy.  A soft and stylish atmosphere is guaranteed by the natural teak and the lining and paneling, characterized by a skillful combination of different materials in a chessboard pattern. Last generation technologies and solutions can also be found in the wheelhouse and the engine room. Innovative materials have been used in particular for the latter, where twin MTU 4615hp engines are installed, capable of pushing the yacht to a cruising speed of 28 knots. Besides this 43 m yacht, by the end of this year Baglietto will also launch another 46 m Fast. The planing range will be completed by an entry-level model, 38 meters in length. All yachts in Baglietto’s steel and aluminium displacement line share the same family feeling, stylistic features, and distinctive elements: all hulls in this line can boast a long history of tested reliability and excellence in terms of seaworthiness and sea-keeping quality.

Baglietto New Web Site

Baglietto from Italy presents its new World wide web showroom. A legendary name of the boating and yachting World community, Baglietto founded 1854 in Varazze, by Pietro to which his surname gives the name to the brand. Pietro started as a builder of fishing boats in a small yard one hundred meters from the sea in Varazze, later on this was translated to speed boats in the early part to the middle of the nineteen hundreds, and special military boats of all genres. The early part of the twentieth century is one of various new records; in speed by Baglietto I in 1923, in height with a hydroplane in 1927, and in size with La Spina a 12 meter cruiser build 1929. In this period a lot of military boats are also build as well, from 16 and 21 meter class torpedo boats, to hydroplanes, and also hydrofoil prototypes. Baglietto also creates the MAS in its 15, 16, and 21 meters versions in the 1920s, still recognized today as superb design ingenuity. Baglietto in this period also gets commissions from places as Japan, and China to build there military boats. Baglietto will build military boats of various sizes and type for just less to ninety years, a career which apart various Italian orders includes others from Finland, Indonesia, Algeria, and United Arab Emirates. After World War II Baglietto starts the production of the wooden yacht series, with Elba, Ischia and Capri models. In the seventies and eighties Baglietto looks at aluminium to build boats, and launches the first in this material with the Nauta at 26.5 meters in 1976. In the nineties Baglietto expands its size and builds various super yachts over thirty meters and a couple of forty meters plus. Important names are the Al Fahedi in 1985 a 46 m steel build which will be the flagship up till 2006, and the Opus in 1994 a 28 meter open sport yacht which is to be the largest of its type for a couple of years. Baglietto was purchased by the Gavio Group in 2011 after a decade plus of ownership from Camuzzi. Currently Baglietto builds yachts on order with a line which starts with the timeless classic MV 13 up to the 62M Motor Yacht, with a portfolio which stands of eight super yachts currently in build. Baglietto 46m will be the protagonist at Cannes and Monaco yacht shows during September. The technical launch was performed at the presence of the workers, craftsmen and management of the shipyard who greeted the yacht with emotion, being it the very first among five vessels within 43 and 54 meter range, currently undergoing construction at the shipyard. The design of the new 46-meter displacement yacht is created by Francesco Paszkowski who conceived both the exterior profiles as well as the interiors. The interior design has been developed in co-operation with Margherita Casprini, architect. Project: Baglietto 54M

2014 is going to be a very special year for Baglietto, the historical shipyard based in La Spezia, which was founded in 1854 and is therefore celebrating its 160 years. The new year has indeed started with an important success, with the signature of a new order for a 54m steel and aluminium displacement yacht, designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design. which is expected to be delivered to her European Owner in summer 2015. The new 54m yacht draws inspiration from Baglietto’s well-established product line of 53m crafts, like the Blue Scorpion, the Gitana and the Baraka, but features renovated volumes and restyled lines which follow the style of the new production signed by Francesco Paszkowski Design: a combination of geometric shapes and very sleek, sinuous exterior lines, while the very streamlined bow reminds of Nordic boats. Two Caterpillar engines allow this yacht to reach a maximum speed of approximately 17 knots and a cruising speed of 13.

New Model: Baglietto MV13

Looking at its roots Baglietto went to Cannes to present an amazing new looking model, the MV13.  Built of aluminium and designed by Tuscan Francesco Paszkowski, long standing architect of the seagull marque this new baby Baglietto is definitely a stand out looker in a marina for its military inspired looks.  Not a first from Baglietto who in its glorious past build a great recognition over time for extraordinary and innovative military vessels in both World Wars of the twentieth century, and a portfolio of orders from Government departments which continued till the eighties.  This has also led for delivering some of the Baglietto yachts inspired technically and looking to the military side.  Anyone ever seen the 1987 26m Chato?  The MV13 follows the recent trend of a huge day boat with a classic flair to it, and featuring an open cabin plan layout below offering overnight accommodation for two persons in a V-shaped double berth to fore.  Twin MAN 800hp power the sixteen tons MV13, in a traditional shaft propulsion, with top speeds of 37 knots and a cruise of 32 knots.

Improve-it = Baglietto 44m

"Monokini", the third hull in Baglietto’s FAST 44m line, which marks a true rebirth for the Seagull brand, was launched last Saturday. The ceremony, which was held privately as required by the owner, was attended by his representatives, Baglietto’s employees, who were present with their families, the Company’s Suppliers, and the Top Management of builder and the Gavio Group, which controls the La Spezia based shipyard. Some local and regional authorities also took part in the event privately, so as to celebrate Baglietto’s recent comeback in business together with the Company and its staff. "Monokini" is the natural evolution of the 44 FAST line, whose first two models were M/Y Tatiana per Sempre and her sistership Apache II. Featuring an aggressive silver hull, this yacht is characterised by streamlined, sleek outer lines reflecting the unmistakable style of designer Francesco Paszkowski Design, who keeps interpreting the Seagull’s philosophy at best. Her soft, stylish interiors have been created by designer Alberto Mancini, while Baglietto took care of naval architecture and engineering aspects.  44 meters long, over eight wide and featuring an aluminium hull and superstructure, this yacht can host ten passengers in five cabins, all located on the lower deck, as well as 8 crew members. Thanks to twin MTU 3600hp engines she can reach an impressive maximum speed of 30 knots in the utmost comfort, while the four at-anchor stabilisers grant flawless stability even when the yacht is far out at sea. The interiors draw inspiration from the rational and yet sophisticated world of aviation. Wood, steel and leather, the materials used all over the yacht combine harmoniously into a skillful blend of cream, beige and grey shades that create a stylish, refined atmosphere.  The wood used for the bulwarks, bleached sycamore can also be found in all ceiling panels and, together with the ash & Wengé parquet and the dove-colour silk inserts, conveys a sense of calm and refinement. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing, similar to that found on large private jets, and is further enhanced by a skillful use of lighting, aimed at 'softening' the wood curves even more.  Almost all interior and outdoor furniture is custom-made: sofas, tables, lamps and handles have indeed been customised to fulfil the Owner’s wishes and requirements.  A distinguishing feature on this yacht versus the two previews 44m models are also the two collapsible side balconies: which become wonderful terraces allowing guests to enjoy incredibly relaxing moments just over the sea.  The yacht will be classified RINA and MCA for commercial purposes.

First sample of the Wide Body line, it represents an important event for the yard that enriches its own range with this new fast model. The generous spaces of the convivial areas, the attention given to the distribution of the same and the wise use of the illumination on board, all define the vocation of Lucky Me for a comfortable and relaxed life onboard.
