New Launch: Feadship 99.95m Hull. 1008

A new star has been born into the Feadship firmament with the launch of the 99.95-metre hull. 1008 titled m/y Moonrise. Unveiled today by the Feadship yard in Makkum hull. 1008 successfully marries sleek sensual lines with a modern masculine profile. A wide range of elegant details, long hull windows, a glorious grey hull and striking vertical bow add to the elegance of the design by Studio De Voogt. In addition to her imposing length hull. 1008 has a very impressive volume thanks to its fifteen metre beam. This has generated some fabulous interior space for sixteen people in eight staterooms. There are also exceptionally high-end crew accommodations for up to 32 crew, which are bathed in natural light and designed to ensure a premium standard for those living and working on the yacht. Guests and staff alike will benefit from the huge effort expended on keeping hull. 1008 exceptionally quiet, eclipsing even Feadship’s legendary standards of noise and vibration attenuation. Exterior highlights of note include the way that the superstructure is entirely clad in glass, the helipad on the foredeck and the large beach club aft, complete with gym and wellness areas. High ceilings predominate both outdoors and in, with flush decks complementing a seamless transition to the interior. The latter features a sophisticated yet minimalistic style by RĂ©mi Tessier Design that is instantly welcoming. Twin MTU engines enable hull. 1008 to reach 19.5 knots and her cruising speed is sixteen knots, with Quantum stabilisers ensuring a comfortable ride at all times.  Like every new Feadship hull. 1008 benefits from the latest thinking in terms of smooth operation and environmental responsibility. For example, exhaust gas treatment has been fitted to the main engines, in addition to the Feadship proprietary generator exhaust cleaning system installed these past decades. A heat recovery system installed on the generators allows Moonrise’s jacuzzi water to be warmed up using far less electrical power. And an ECO-certified system for dynamic positioning facilitates the most energy-saving generator use in this mode.  The naval architecture for hull. 1008 has been optimised to provide maximum comfort both underway and at anchor. Her propeller and appendages have been designed to ensure minimum noise levels underwater, reducing both the yacht’s impact as well as interior sound levels. Add in extended autonomy, the long cruising range, streamlined hull design and cutting-edge wastewater processing and storage facilities and it is clear that hull. 1008 once again sets the benchmark for efficiency in the widest sense of the word.

Improve-it = Absolute Navetta 58

During the 2020 Dusseldorf boat show, Absolute presented the new 2020 version of the Navetta 58. Launched in 2014 the 58 apart being a success for Absolute was the model which debuted the Navetta range for the Italian builder.  Now six years later to the launch of hull one the Italian Piacenza builder decided its time for an update. Most of the update in the new 2020 version comes from outside, with new large and different shape hull side windows, and a radar arch which looks back from the previous forward looking version, and this adding also a larger hard-top. These details will make it easy for people to recognize the new Navetta 58, 2020 and beyond version. But the changes do not stop there and for 2020 thanks to Volvo, the Navetta 58 will be powered with twin Volvo 550hp engines. The interior layout is mostly unchanged with a three cabins three head layout lower accommodation deck, and an astern galley with dinette opposite on the main deck.

New Model: Wooden Boats WB 40 Classic

Wooden Boats was set up in 2012 by Marco Arnaboldi, Studio Arnaboldi based on his experience as former director of AB Yachts, which he founded in 1992 with his father to apply the cutting-edge technology of waterjets and sandwich construction to fast yachts.  This boutique hull specialist firm and shipyard has collaborated with leading Italian brands such as Benetti, Sanlorenzo, Pershing, Baglietto and others, designing, engineering and building eighteen custom tenders in less than eight years. It has also worked with top designer names, including Giorgio Cassetta, Guido de Groot, Marco Casali and Achille Salvagni.  The first yacht to be built using this particular construction technique was the WB40 Classic, a twelve meter luxury day cruiser for a European owner. The hull and the deck are made of sandwiched layers of multi-directional mahogany plywood and pre-preg carbon fiber using the epoxy vacuum method. Although Arnaboldi’s original mission was to build in wood and carbon fibre, Wooden Boats also specializes in construction using advanced composites alone.  Fully designed, engineered and produced in-house with a deep-V hull engineered for water jet propulsion, the WB40 Classic combines optimal performance and excellent sea keeping with an absence of vibrations in all sea conditions.  Conceived for weekend cruising in the sun and able to comfortably carry up to 14 guests, the WB 40 Classic has a forward sunbed atop the deck house, a central cockpit with a height-adjustable table that be transformed into another sundeck, and a third sunbed aft above the engine compartment. The helm station is raised above the main deck for optimal visibility under way and while maneuvering.  The entrance to the cabin is located on the right side of the helm station. Below deck is a spacious double bed, bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. Behind the helm is an open-air  kitchen cabinet with sink, worktop, two-burner hob and fridge. The whole area can be protected by a bimini top (there is also the option of a hard-top version and a full-carbon fibre hull with fold-down bulwarks to increase the size of the swim platform).  Powered by twin 420-hp Yanmar engines coupled to a pair of MJP water jets with lastest generation joystick controls, the WB40’ Classic has a top speed of 40 knots and a cruising speed of about 36 knots.

Heesen New Web Site

Heesen presents its new World wide web virtual showroom.  The story of Heesen starts in 1978 when Frans Heesen buys a shipyard in Oss Harbor.  A year later to this in 1979 Heesen delivers its first super yacht the 28 meter m/y Amigo sold to a Dutch businessman and able to accommodate ten guests and reach a speed of 26 knots.  With this first super yacht the Dutch Heesen focus is decided and that is to build custom super yachts.  The builds continue to come from Heesen over the years with some of them being rather outstanding, record breaking, and innovative! In 1988 Heesen launches m/y Octopussy a 38 meter alloy super yacht which breaks the fifty knots top speed barrier, at the time the fastest super yacht in the World.  Eight years later to this in 1996 Heesen breaks another record and launches the largest sport fish of the time m/y Obsessions a 38 meter Super Sportfish yacht build of alloy.  As a custom super yacht builder Heesen has always been building larger yachts since its founding, in 1990 it launched m/y L'Aquasition at 44 meter breaking the forty meter barrier for the Dutch builder.  This is followed in 1992 with m/y Achiever which enters Heesen into fifty meters and steel hull construction.  Size barriers are broken again with the 65m Galactica Star in 2013 and then again in 2016 with Galactica Super Nova, this last being so far the largest Heesen ever build.  Heesen has over the years also created successful semi custom platforms and two of these series deserve an important mention as the ten hulls of the 37 meter class, and the eight hulls of the 47 meter class.  Heesen pursuit for innovation never stopped and in 2013 the at the time largest build for the builder m/y Galactica Star featured the innovative Fast Displacement hull form which allow for maximum speeds up to 28 knots.  This is again followed in 2014 with m/y Alive a 42 meter super yacht which harness kinetic energy thanks to the Vane hull.  Heesen has over the years also won 37 accolades; which started in 1991 44m m/y Acquasition winning Superyacht of the Year by Superyacht Society, and the last one being awarded to M/Y Home for Best Ecological Design and Operation Innovation.  Heesen currently offers two line of super yachts; Platform Concept, and Pure Custom.  Heesen currently offers nine projects which start from the 4200 Aluminium FDHF, and goes up to an 83m Steel Project Maximus custom build.  Heesen new website takes you around with the following buttons; Available Yachts, Our Story, Platform Concept, Fleet, Pure Custom, Media, ownership, and Careers at Heesen.  Heesen is also present in social media with button links for its Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube pages.
