Project: Alia 16m Fast Runabout

Best known for its custom super yachts such as 60m Samurai, 41m Ruya and 31m Virgen del Mar, in 2014 Alia Yachts received an inquiry from a private customer looking to build a fast day boat that he couldn’t find among existing production models. Instead, Çelik approached Bill Dixon Design in the U.K., which has a strong track record in the powerboat sector, to develop the naval architecture, exterior and interior design together with Alia Yachts. In addition to the galley and bar unit behind the pilots seats and comfy dinette, the stylish day boat has unparalleled outdoor spaces, ample sunbathing space both fore and aft, a spacious double cabin below deck with en-suite bathroom and shower, and a second galley with sink and fridge. Powered by twin Volvo engines with IPS pod drives, the boat has a top speed of 35 plus knots, and up to forty knots with bigger engine alternatives offered. Alia Yachts took care to build the boat with the same attention to detail lavished on its super yachts. The original client was delighted with the result and two more were sold in quick succession, although the product has never been properly marketed as the shipyard continues to focus on its super yacht projects. That now looks set to change as Alia Yachts is currently in discussions with an American client for a fourth unit and fielding other enquiries from Europe, South America and the U.S.

Project: Azimut Atlantis 45

Azimut present the Atlantis 45 project, a successor to the successful Atlantis 43, a model of enormous success with a proven sales record that surpassed every expectation, selling over 140 units in four years. The new Atlantis 45 will differ from the 43 firstly for the user-friendly Volvo IPS pod propulsion system.  The Neo Design team who has designed all Atlantis models since 2011 for this 45 carries the stylistic accents introduced by its two meter bigger sister, the 2017 introduced Atlantis 51.  The stem of the 45 just as the 51 verticals towards the deck in order to maintain a slight forward momentum, bringing the energetic dynamism expected from a sports cruiser. The hull windows run from stern to bow along the yacht’s hull in a distinctive blade shape, highlighting again the lean lines and the sporty soul of the sport cruiser. The Azimut Atlantis 45 will feature two cabins: an owner’s cabin, and another at amidship, with two beds which can be combined to create a double berth, and to which even a third can be added. The cabins within the yacht are both ample and welcoming, thanks to a beam of over four meters meters. At the stern, a garage can hold a tender of up to 2.5 meters in length.

Robert Braithwaite 1943 - 2019

Sadly, in the early hours of morning 7th March 2019, Sunseeker’s founder Robert Braithwaite passed away.  Robert was an inspiration to everyone at Sunseeker and to the wider marine industry, recognized as a boating pioneer, a true visionary and someone who changed the face of boating.  Robert was not only the company’s founder but the father of the Sunseeker family from Dorset, and worldwide through our its dealers and clients. Robert Braithwaite will always live on as the driving force behind Sunseeker's success.  Robert started the Sunseeker journey in 1960 first founding Poole Powerboats, as a dealer and importer of small and medium sized sports boats and cruisers and eventually venturing into boat building and founding Sunseeker. From the mid eighties onward Sunseeker has seen growth of market share and size, with an important milestone being reached in 1995 when the company launched the Predator 80, its first super yacht over 24 meters in size, which was the sign of bigger things to come.  Since over a decade Sunseeker is a front runner in the top ten builders of super yachts over 24 meters in length, and have so far build up to a 155 feet size in length.  Sunseeker was also an innovator among the British production boat builders being the first to produce boats, designed around the Mediterranean sporty side of the market. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his immediate family.

New Model: Horizon FD77 Skyline

Following the tremendous success of Horizon's Fast Displacement series, the first Horizon FD77 completed sea trials successfully and is now on her way to the U.S. to make her debut at the Palm Beach boat show. The FD77 joins the FD85, FD87 Skyline, FD102 Skyline and the FD125 Skyline in this popular series. This new model was specifically designed to appeal to active owner-operators. Interest from current Horizon owners who operate their own yachts inspired the design of the FD77, which retains the same styling and spacious characteristics of her larger sisters, wrapped in a compact package that affords ease of operation and excellent sea-keeping capabilities. The brand-new Horizon FD77 maximizes interior volume with unique floor-to-ceiling glass sections that invite plenty of natural light and spectacular views into the salon, dining area and on-deck master stateroom. A sliding glass door to starboard in the main salon accesses the exterior walkway leading to the forward deck, further enhancing the openness of this explorer yacht. The well-appointed on-deck master stateroom retains the same style as the rest of the main deck, its open layout, exquisite soft goods and a lighting design adding comfort to an already luxurious space. On the lower deck, three additional staterooms, including two VIPs, echo the feeling of spaciousness found throughout. On the aft, a comfortable settee faced by some additional free-standing chairs seats up to eight persons. Additionally, a large beach club invites relaxation at sea level and located just forward of the beach club is a full head and additional crew cabin. The fore-deck offers a great area for sunbathing and lounging, fitted with a double sun-pad and a comfortable couch facing forward to enjoy the all-around views. This 'Open Bridge' version of the FD77 model offers functional outdoor spaces that rival those found on 27 meter size super yachts. Side wing-stations allow for improved visibility while docking and the bridge deck aft is spacious enough to accommodate a four meter plus tender. Powered by twin Man 1200hp each and fitted with ABT Zero-Speed stabilizers and bow stern thrusters, the new FD77 is bursting with amenities. This new model is the ultimate option for owners who enjoy exploring the sea on their own or with the two crew that can also be accommodated within.
