Project: Windy 29 Huracan

Windy are very pleased to announce its continued collaboration together with designer Espen Øino for the exciting new 29 Huracan project, which is set to debut in 2023.  Replacing the 29 Coho after a ten year production run, the Windy 29 Huracán is being developed as a modern looking Day-Sport-Cruiser combining a spacious, safe, and social cockpit with a fantastic design language creating a unique appearance that radiates both luxury and sportiness.  The 29 Huracan will also continue Windy's collaboration with Design Unlimited who have designed the new Sports Series interiors debuting first with the Camira and now followed in this upcoming 29 Huracan. New Model: Windy 40 Camira RS

During the 2023 Fort Lauderdale boat show Windy debuted its new 40 Camira RS model, a replacement to the 39 Camira.  A twelve meter sporty cruiser, full of the Norwegian brands DNA, the Camira 40 RS comes with a full beam T-top which covers a spacious cockpit deck, which features a traditional Mediterrean layout; aft sun-pad, C-shaped dinette with opposite wet-bar, and helm station with passenger forward facing settee to port side.  Inside the Windy 40 Camira RS will feature an interior sleeping four in a two plus two cabin layout, with a V-shaped dinette which transforms to a double berth, and a double or optional twin berth at midships.  In between the berths is a galley and a shower head to starboard.  The layout is all open plan, although in the renderings the midships cabin is shown as being door bulkhead separate, so it is not understood if there is a choice to enclose this, or Windy changed the layout to open plan in production.  The Windy 40 Camira RS is powered by twin Volvo 400hp as standard, and or optional 440hp engines with stern drive propulsion for top speeds up to 44 knots.  A Windy 44 Camira SX is also available, this featuring twin 450hp or triple 300hp outboards, length overall of an extra one meter, and fuel tank increased by 300 litres to 1200.

Project: Windy SR43 Blackhawk

Windy present the next generation SR now being developed for launch for this year 2019.  In the wake of the success of the Windy SR52 Blackbird, here comes the smaller sister the SR43 Blackhawk.  The new smaller SR will feature similar characteristics to her larger sibling in a three meter smaller size and is again a design from Dubois for the exterior and Hans Jorgen Johnsen taking care of naval architecture.  Just like the SR52 the SR43 will feature unparalleled performance, build quality, range, and options offered in a special customization program.  The Windy SR43 Blackhawk offers a four berth interior accommodation in a forward cabin featuring a double berth, and a midships open cabin with twin berths.  Just like the SR52 the Windy SR43 Blackhawk is a sport cruiser designed to serve multi-purposes from a superyacht tender, a chase boat or a sports cruiser fpr family and friends.  The SR43 Blackhawk will be powered by twin Volvo 400hp and or 435hp, in stern drive propulsion the first and IPS pod propulsion the second. Speed estimates are for 45 knots max with twin Volvo 400hp and stern drives, and a range of up 300 nautical miles at an efficient fast cruise and only nine hundred liters of fuel capacity.  That's a nice number.  Windy has a so called Offshore extended range version in plan which should offer more fuel capacity and extra range.

Project: Windy 29 Coho

With its handling, good looks, and versatile cockpit, Windy Boats new 29 Coho sportsboat looks to be one of the show stoppers in this size at the 2013 Düsseldorf Boat Show. The new 29 Coho reaffirms Windy’s new focus on core brand values, with a pared-down, classic profile, a rapier sharp deep-vee hull designed by Hans-Jørgen Johnsen, and a blistering top speed of over 45 knots with the large engine choice. Replacing the popular and long-serving 28 Ghibli in the shipyard’s model range, the new 29 Coho features an extended hull and lengthened bathing platform, with a new cockpit layout that emphasises outdoor living and relaxation. Large rhomboid windows in the topsides let in lots of light down below, where the upgraded accommodation centres on a large, luxuriously finished double berth forward, with a practical head and shower compartment, and a useful and well-equipped galley area by the companionway. Along with the new 26 Kharma and 31 Zonda, the 29 Coho features Windy’s ingenious new canopy design, which can be easily put up by one person in just a few minutes, and is completely hidden when stowed. Like many of its stablemates this new Windy model is named in honour of a wind in this case the cold airstream that blasts down the Columbia River valley in Oregon, which is in turn named after the legendary silver-sided Pacific salmon. The aptly-named Coho is available with single or twin, petrol or diesel sterndrive installations.  Single Volvo 400 or twin 220hp diesel engines, and single 380hp petrol gas are available.

Project: Windy 45 Chinook

Norwegian boat builder Windy is to unveil a new sport cruiser model at the 2013 Düsseldorf Boat Show taking part in January which combines the comfort and protection of hard top cruising with the exhilaration of an open sports boat.  Involving a renewal in design, tooling and customer research, the new 45 Chinook, is a further development of the 44, and boasts an enlarged hardtop that offers more shelter to the cockpit and main deck seating areas.  It also features a huge opening sunroof, transforming the boat at the touch of a button from a fully enclosed, hard-top cruiser into an open-cockpit sports machine. The new model is also one feet longer than its award-winning predecessor, thanks to an extended swimming platform.  The designers at Windy also took the opportunity to redesign and enlarge the topsides windows to match the right-angles of the look presented with the 40 Maestro by the Norwegian builder. Also in common with the Maestro, the 45 Chinook has a fresh new interior design by Peder Eidsgaard, which combines cool and understated modernity with the warmth and solidity of hardwood. Tactile detailing emphasise the built-in quality always synonym with Windy.  As is expected the new 45 still retains the Chinook’s excellent, family-friendly layout, with a lower saloon and galley, and three double cabins. Two Volvo engine choices, a standard 370 and optional 435hp with IPS pod drives and the much respected superb Hans-Jørgen Johnsen hull should take you to top speed up to 44 knots.
