Van der Valk New Web Site

Van der Valk presents its new web site.  Van der Valk was founded in 1967 by Wim Van der Valk, with the initial success coming from building cabin and aft cabin cruisers from seven to ten meters in length of steel and aluminium.  In the 1970s Van der Valk continued its rise, introducing popular models as the Valkkruiser, Comfort, Royal, Falcon, and Super Falcon.  This success was continued when in the mid eighties Van der Valk launched the Vitesse series, and again in the nineties with the introduction of the Continental series.  In the 2000s Van der Valk started a collaboration with Guido de Groot, today added with further collaborations with Vripack, Cor D. Rover and Ginton.  In 2013 Van der Valk launched its largest build to date with the Trawler 36.80m hull no. WV0106, designed by Guido de Groot with naval architecture by Ginton.  Still managed by Wim its founder, Van der Valk operates from its production complex in Waalwijk which includes a sixty meter long aluminium construction hall, three assembly halls, painting hall, warehouse, production office, and a paved open dock which has 7000 sqm of land area and 120 meters of mooring space.  Van der Valk has in the last ten to fifteen years transformed itself to a semi-custom and custom boutique builder offering four ranges; Raised Pilothouse, Flybridge, Beachclub, Explorer, and Custom build to order line.  Currenly Van der Valk has four units under construction; starting from a Flybridge 21.27m, and going to the 35m Project Samba.  For 2023 Van der Valk has just launched the custom Pilot 34m.  Van der Valk website is available in English, German, and Dutch language and takes you around with the following buttons; Yachts, Fleet, Global, and Menu.  Van der Valk is also on social media with link buttons appearing at the bottom of the menu page taking you to its Facebook, Linkedin, Youtube, and Instagram pages.

Projects: Van Der Valk 34m Project 111.11, Van Der Valk 35m Project Samba

Van der Valk has started construction on two new 34 and 35 meter projects both based on Van der Valk's 34.00m Explorer hull WV0127 platform, also known as Lady Lene.  The first if these project take a modern approach idea from knowledgeable owners who’ve enjoyed decades on the water, and for project 111.1 join forces with the creative talents of exterior designer Guido de Groot and interior designer Carla Guilhem from a full custom super yacht which takes the proven hull Van der Valk 34 meter Explorer platform.  The powerful Project 111.11, will be a full-displacement 34-metre superyacht with twin Volvo Penta 750hp continuous duty engines and a top speed up to fourteen knots. Each of the four decks on Van der Valk 111.11 has been designed to meet specific needs on a yacht with a fold-out platform aft and a lazarette for jet-skis that will be a superb relaxation area in its own right. In fact, everything about Project 111.11 revolves around entertaining large groups of people in style on a compact boat with lots of volume.
The second project by Van der Valk titled Samba is also based on the 34m Explorer hull, although she will be that one meter longer in length, thanks to its extended bathing platform.  Van der Valk 35m Project Samba is again a build for experienced hands-on owners, with again Guido de Groot taking design duties, with everything from the waterline up on this delightful all-aluminium tri-deck superyacht being custom guided. A rich focus on outdoor leisure spaces, including a large swimming platform, is incorporated within an elegant explorer-like look. Safety is at a premium in this multi-generation family yacht with high bulwarks on the side decks, and smart colour separations instead of open railings. The rhythmic lines, complex surfaces and sculptural elements will be as relaxing to the eye as the lifestyle onboard.  Van der Valk project Samba will have naval architecture by Diana and Jinto and is to be powered by Man 1450hp engines with an estimated top speeds up to seventeen knots.

Project: Van Der Valk 21.27 metre Project Micamo

Van der Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands is taking its fully custom approach to the next level with the 21.27-metre Project Micamo. This bespoke flybridge motoryacht has been ordered by a client with precise requirements in terms of range and led to new rules being set by the Japanese flag state authorities. With a sophisticated exterior and interior by Guido de Groot Design, Project Micamo is set to showcase the finest Dutch craftsmanship to Japan in a unique way when delivered. It also confirms how far Van der Valk is prepared to go to meet custom demands. The owner of Project Micamo is keen to sail on his own keel to the Ogasawara Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage site located some 500 nautical miles south of the main Japanese archipelago. A 24-hour ferry service runs to the archipelago from Tokyo and the maritime authorities have strict rules in place for commercial vessels that are equivalent to those applied to container ships. No regulations were in place, however, for a 20-metre pleasure craft making such lengthy passages so these had to be specifically adapted for Project Micamo. Months of dedicated engineering, careful calculations, stability booklet updates and more have underpinned construction of the hull.  Van der Valk Project Micamo will feature a four double cabins layout with an owners stateroom at midships, while the main deck will offer a more a more traditional central galley plan.  Project Micamo is to be powered by twin Volvo 1000hp with IPS pod drives for estimated top speeds up to 29 knots.

New Launch: Van Der Valk 33.00m Hull no. WV0133

Van der Valk delivered the Raised Pilothouse 33-metre Blue Jeans to her owners at the end of 2022, its second in size model and flagship of the RP range as introduced in 2014 and so far launched in six units. After handover at the Van der Valk shipyard in the Netherlands, this custom build Raised Pilothouse 33 meters superyacht has cruised through Belgium, France and the UK to London. Designed by Guido de Groot the exterior style is closely aligned with the request for high ceilings in the interior, which rise to almost 2.5 metres in the lounge. The yacht’s sleek profile features lots of exterior glass, including for the bulwarks. Al fresco highlights include balconies both sides of the main deck and a retractable dive board on the flybridge. The anchor windlasses are hidden within the raised bow to free up room on the foredeck for a recessed chill-out zone with pop-up table. This cool feature typifies the detailed design and engineering which went into this project. The interior features an intricate fusion of Northern European and Asian styles, some remarkable lighting displays and a wide variety of materials. These include liquid metal walls, copper accents and reconstituted teak in small wooden trims on the walls and ceilings. The master stateroom features rare Lapis Lazuli Blue marble while other fine stones include Nero Marquina and Fior di Bosco in the dining area and White Carrara in the saloon. The overall layout entirely reflects the owner’s preferences for everyday use within a multifunctional, multigenerational concept. Project: Van Der Valk 25 m Meteor

Van der Valk is delighted to unveil an exciting conceptual design concept that defies convention and sets a new benchmark in the fast super sport yacht market. The 25-metre Meteor platform has its origins in a custom design created to combine inland water adventures with the ability to also head offshore. The Meteor project came together with the experts at Vripack which after many months of intelligent thinking came with this modern design. An exceptional top speed of above 40 knots is available thanks to triple MTU engines with water jet propulsion. Weight is a critical parameter to achieve such a rapid pace and every aspect of efficiency has been meticulously calculated and engineered. At the same time, the Meteor is far more than a super-safe speed machine. Breaking boldly with the norm, the stern is inspired by the sports car world and largely dispenses with the traditional aft deck. The transom itself serves as a swim platform when opened and combines with the interior space to create a large beach club winter garden. Two three-metre sliding roofs offer the option for sun or shade both here and in the bridge area of the foredeck lounge, all part of a radically different deployment of space that is enhanced by liberal use of glass in the superstructure. This fresh approach continues within the interior thanks to an ergonomic layout that embraces flow of movement and is very pleasing to the eye. The main salon includes a dining area and bar, while the lower deck features two full-beam double suites with bathrooms. Each bed is angled to provide superb views out to sea. Vripack has designed a stunning textual mix of satin and gloss finishes with gunmetal black diamond stitched leathers and blue velvet surfaces. The window frames feature an eggshell-white textile and all materials will be sustainably and Dutch sourced.

Project: Wim Van Der Valk 34M Explorer

Wim Van der Valk has started work on a fantastic custom-designed and built 34-metre Explorer. This all-aluminium tri-deck super yacht has been ordered by repeat clients who’ve returned to the Dutch yard to leverage on the expertise acquired during their previous project and blend that with the rest of their exceptional superyacht building experience. Due for delivery in December 2021, the new project is taking into account every stage of life. The yacht will be completely wheelchair-friendly with a lift for easy access between the decks and all floors being level with no protrusions or steps. High ceilings will enhance a spacious feel generated by giant windows that offer panoramic views and emphasise the family’s love of living close to the water. Impressive accommodations for up to ten guests include a VIP stateroom on the bridge deck, a balcony and an aft terrace. The owner’s stateroom with office is located on the lower deck, which is also home to two double suites in the bow and a single suite. The main deck includes a dining area bathed in natural light and large open saloon. Despite the care paid to the interior, the focal point of the design of the yacht and social life of those onboard will likely be the aft entertainment area. This large open space will have a real wow factor with its clean deck, cool zones for relaxation and dining, bar and swim platform. As you’d expect from a custom build of this sophistication, an enormous amount of work has also gone into the design, engineering and performance. The hull features a wave piercing bow and a performance-enhancing Hull Vane appendage. Twin SeaKeeper gyro stabilisers and a Humphree electric fin stabilising system will combine to provide comfort across the range from zero speed to sailing in rough seas. To ensure these and many other bespoke wishes are met, Van der Valk and the owner’s team from YachtCreators are working in close partnership with Guido de Groot Yacht Design, Ginton Naval Architects, Diana Yacht Design and Hull Vane BV.

Project: Wim Van Der Valk 30-metre Explorer

Building on Wim Van der Valk’s long experience in building explorer yachts, the Dutch shipyard is sharing the image of a brand-new concept for a 30-metre version. Combining an adventurous, rugged ambience with graceful lines and shapes, this stylish Explorer also features a wealth of interior space. With her fast displacement hull, this is a super yacht designed to travel at speed. While functionality usually takes priority over sleek looks on most explorer-type yachts, designer Guido de Groot has ensured a luxury feel is also present. 30-meter Explorer has the facilities of a luxury yacht, with the impressive beach club, hydraulic transom platform, full-beam master suite forward, four guest cabins on the lower deck, and plenty of space for crew. Styling-wise, this is still clearly an Explorer super yacht with forward negative windows in the wheelhouse, while the angled bow adds length and elegance. Another design element is the way the window graphics have been smoothly integrated within dark glass surfaces. As you would expect from a boat designed for taking a whole family, or groups of close friends on long adventures at sea, there is a considerable amount of interior volume available, including exceptionally high ceilings. The raised pilothouse design is very inviting inside and out, while a safety is assured in all weather conditions.

Project: Wim Van Der Valk 28m Explorer RPH

Wim Van der Valk recently received an order for a third in the Explorer line, a 28 meter motoryacht with a raised pilothouse. This project we are advised is for a repeat client who only needed to spend a season enjoying his current Wim Van der Valk to be convinced that an Explorer would be ideal to embark on the trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific voyages of his dreams. These exciting adventures will begin after the yacht is delivered in the spring of 2020.  Following on from the 25m and 36.80 meter Explorer models, the third yacht in this range will be built entirely in strong, lightweight aluminium. Wim Van der Valk 28m Explorer RPH will have a fast displacement hull, with twin MAN 1650hp engines will give an estimated top speed of 20 knots.

Project: Wim Van Der Valk 660 Beachclub Flybridge

Wim Van der Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands has started construction on a new 660 Beachclub Flybridge model.  A 20.50 meter motor yacht in its revolutionary BeachClub range, this new model is all about an ingenious engine room layout, which give this superb series the unnecessary conflict between indoor and outdoor space which has traditionally been the hallmark of yachts in this size range. The first Van der Valk 600 Beachclub, model will already be delivered in Spring 2018.  The new BeachClub line is a fine illustration of the intrepid spirit and dedication to excellence that have propelled the yard to the position it occupies today. A labour by Wim Van der Valk and its partners, the series ranges from nineteen to thirty meters incorporates interior and exterior design by Cor D. Rover and outstanding naval architecture by Ginton Naval Architects.  The secret to the success of the Wim Van Der Valk Beachclub for which a patent is now pending, is in the clever location of the engine room. By using the integrated Volvo Penta IPS propulsion system, the engine room is literally placed within the swimming platform, creating a tremendous amount of uninterrupted space on the lower deck.  The outdoor areas on the BeachClub 660 Flybridge will consist of three major spaces: a beach deck with sun lounge measuring seventeen squared meters, an aft deck of equal size with possibility for an outside helm, and a huge 25 squared meters fore-deck with a range of layout options. Indoors, the yacht will boast a 21 squared meters main deck salon with wheelhouse and all-round panoramic views, a 27 squared meters lower deck salon with galley and dinette, and a whopping 44 squared meters floor space for the accommodations. In addition to the luxurious owners suite, the BeachClub 660 Flybridge will feature two twin guest cabins and an optional crew cabin. Built entirely in aluminium, a modern, sporty look with a moderate-V hard-chine hull will offer an elegant and graceful profile. Twin Volvo 800hp engines with IPS type pod propulsion it will provide an estimated top speed of 24 knots. To ensure stunning views from as many places as possible on board, the yacht will have oversized glass surfaces and large sliding doors in the two salons and the owners suite. The Wim Van Der Valk 660 Beachclub Flybridge is currently in production on specification, waiting for owner to modify it accordingly.
