New Model: Steeler 61 S Electric Trawler

Steeler is proud to launch the 61 S Electric Trawler, a  fully electric and seaworthy explorer yacht, which also features the Dutch builder European Powerboat of the Year awarded Flat floor Panorama Concept, which makes it one of the most spacious explorer yachts in its size, thanks to the use of the single level living. The 61 S Electric Trawler also features a unique electric drive technology, with the dominion of fossil-fuel always coming under question, with new green-tech seeing large advancements in bio-fuels, hydrogen, and electro-motors. The dimensions and weights of these systems is always becoming smaller, while their power continues to increase, with batteries becoming lighter and stronger with greater charging capacity, and recharge costs becoming cheaper and free in some ports.  Furthermore, an electromotor powered by a generator is more efficient than a conventional diesel engine. Even during the charging period for the batteries therefore, the 61 S Electric Trawler is more economical than a traditional diesel engine.  Fair to say up till today June 2022, there is no yacht with a reduced eco-print than the Steeler 61 S Electric Trawler.  The engine space of the Steeler 61 S Electric Trawler contains a state-of-the-art drive system, comprising a lithium-ion powered Hydista 120hp electric motor. The battery sets comprise 18 containers, each with sixteen cells, sufficient for four hours of sailing. Out on the ocean waves, a diesel Volvo 110hp generator provides the power. The batteries are charged in two hours, so that the generator only needs to work two hours during a ten hour cruising day. The 61 S Electric Trawler also features solar panels for a permanent and natural energy supply.  Design wise the 61 S Electric Trawler triple deck makes it an impressive and unusual looker. Its silhouette is shaped by the bow and the streamlined length of the hull itself.  Add to that the coupĂ©-style cabin tapering backwards, with the flying bridge towering on top. The principle of the triple deck Flat Floor design is based on the Steeler vision of single level living, whereby the owner has full command of the saloon, galley and master bedroom on the single level middle deck, over the entire length from fore-to-aft, without any stairs or height differences. The top deck houses the wheelhouse with entertainment area, freely connected to the open rear deck. The lower deck is home to two guest cabins, each with its own bathroom.

Project: Steeler 18M Electric

Steeler have started the construction of its first full electric motoryacht.  After an extensive design study with Vripack and its suppliers, the go ahead was given by the Norwegian client. The motoryacht will be named “North LatEtude” referring to the future cruising area and the electric propulsion. This eighteen meters sixty feet motor explorer yacht will be built in steel and features three decks, a novelty in this size, generating an amazing volume of living accommodation. The main deck and upperdeck have a well known Steeler signature, as they are single level from bow to stern. The lower deck is reserved for two guestrooms.  The electrical system has been designed by Hydrosta. The propulsion will be provided by a water cooled permanent magnet electrical engine powered by 184kw of Lithium Ion batteries. A 75kw variable speed generator is available for long distance cruises. The efficiency of the propulsion system is far superior to a diesel engine, not only when driving full electric but also when the generator kicks in. DNVGL approval is pending for this system, that represents state-of-the-art in green yachting.

Project: Steeler FD55 S Performance Flyday

Steeler reinvent design with this very interesting FD55 S Performance Flyday project.  This is a sport yacht which re-imagines the sport bridge, raising it up to offer better visibility and also add more space inside.  It is not something entirely new, we have seen it done in the eighties by the likes of Draco and Fjord from Scandinavia, Mochi and Sanlornezo in Italy, and lastly the Carver models.  But in the Steeler the lines take a pure sport yacht look from outside and only when looking astern you can notice the Flyday deck.  The Steeler FD55 S Flyday is also flexible in terms of layout offering three lower deck choices, from an owners single cabin version to two or three cabins versions.  The Steeler FD55 S Performance Flyday will be powered by twin Volvo 700hp with IPS pod drives matched to a dedicated performing hull.

Improve-it = Steeler 41 S

Steeler launched a very special edition of the 41 S model.  Together with the owner, the Steeler design team developed “Flying Chairs” for a Flybridge experience in the original “coupe” design.  In combination with a second steering position mounted on the roof and a bimini top, the concept allows the owner and his wife to enjoy their cruises in the open air.  The same comfortable chairs, upholstered in luxurious leather, can also be used in the salon or in the cockpit.  The Steeler 41 S is standard powered by a Yanmar 110hp and is constructed of steel.

Project: Steeler 67 S Performance Flybridge

Designed by Vripack this Steeler 67 S Performance Flybridge is one of the most forward looking motor yacht design I have seen in some time.  Vripack have managed to make the 67 S Performance Flybridge looking conservative yet at the same time modern.  Calling it contemporary is an understatement.  Named first as the 20 meter Flybridge on a news releases on the Steeler website the 67 S Performance Flybridge is a fully custom build to order, and unlike the name of the Dutch builder, she will be build in aluminium.  The Steeler 67 S Performance Flybridge is to be powered by standard twin 800hp engines, or optional 1200hp units.  Performance is estimated at 24 knots max speed with the standard engines, while optional 1200hp units achieve up to 34 knots.

Project: Steeler Off Road 22

Steeler Yachts together with Vripack, want to show they are the place and builder and designer to make the dream come for special clients who do not want an ordinary yacht.  The Steeler Off Road 22 project is all about this and a request from a German client, who wanted a stable explorer yacht at zero speed, so that the helicopter can land safely even in not calm waters, and at the same time offering maximum comfort and space for eight guests in four dedicated cabins, including an owners stateroom on the main deck.  The Steeler Off Road 22 project was presented an explorer yacht with extreme initial stability, which offers the unique helicopter deck in a yacht just measuring twenty two meters in size. For this design firm Vripack presented a three deck explorer yacht with work tug boat looks, offering a living on the main deck.  On the technical side the Steeler Off Road 22 will have a commercial diesel engine, hydraulic bow and stern thruster, transom hatch, high lifting capacity crane for the tender and jet skis on the fly deck, and a small harbor generator.

New Model: Steeler NG 65 S

Steeler Yachts from Holland has started the delivery of new motor yachts for this season with their largest build to date touching the water last week, the NG 65 S-line.  Noting her beautiful design, the in-house design team also developed a solution for wheelchair accessibility, with transfer on both port and starboard of the hull and the hydraulic lift placed midships being examples of the many challenges Steeler turns into solutions.  This S-line is built in steel and features a twin propulsion for a cruising speed that far exceeds the hull speed of the yacht. CE A certification and a Magnus Master stabilization system ensure safe and comfortable long range journeys.  The patented S-line bow enables extremely efficient fuel consumption and a minimization of spray water due to the sharp entry angle and the high flared bow.  The wheelhouse of NG 65 S is surrounded by double insulated and curved glass, allowing for undisturbed panoramic views. The interior features four bedrooms and three bathrooms for a total sleeping capacity of nine guests.  For the last week of March 2018 Steeler will commence sea trials in the Northsea for the NG 65 S, after which the proud owner will take delivery of his new yacht.

Project: Steeler NG50 CS

The CS is the latest version of the Steeler NG50. This CS letter mean center sleeper, and this model has been developed for owners prefering a central midships stateroom to a master room forward. The result is a yacht with three double cabins all served with heads. Two en-suite for the owners and VIP cabins, and a guest day head shower located to starboard. Interesting is that the guest day head and shower features two separates doors. The pilothouse in the CS is also longer than in the NG50, which creates a spacious lounge with an integrated galley. It goes without saying that the client has the freedom to choose the layout, and it is possible to opt for a kitchen and dinette in the fore section. The clearance of the Steeler NG50 CS is just 3.35m, so the French canals remain easily accessible.
