Jo Nunez 1971 - 2015

Following a vision set forth by his widely respected father Pantera Boats founder Pepe Nuñez, Jo Nuñez blended decades of powerboat design, construction and racing experience with his love for motor sports competition such as motocross and NHRA Pro Stock drag racing to enrich brand recognition and carry on an esteemed family legacy. Sadly Jo, 44, passed away following complication with advance stage IV thymus cancer.  The recent backbone of the company in Hialeah, Florida, that was established in 1974 by Pepe and Linda Nuñez, Jo is survived by his mother and father; his sister, Barbara; his wife, Yvette, and their son, Jo. Throughout his career Jo built dozens of boats from 24 to 41 feet, set endurance records, won world championships and, most importantly, established a huge group of friends thanks to his deep-rooted passion for boating.

Improve-it = Pantera 28 SR

Pantera has recently finished production of a new Pantera 28 SR which will be power by a larger single powered Mercury Racing SCI 600hp.  In this new 28 SR, Pantera also fine tuned the two stepped 24 degrees deep Vee hull which should add an extra ten per cent in high end performance.  This latest Pantera sold to a Michigan client also impresses for its top quality finishing from full stainless steel rub rail, and AWL Grip hull painting.  Another feature in this Pantera 28 SR is also noise reduction of twenty per cent, which was also made due to the legal requirements coming in Michigan sound laws.  The interior accommodation features a Vee shaped berth to fore, U-shaped lounger, and unit with wash basin to starboard. Performance in the first tests with the Mercury Racing engine 600hp  is a so far a max of 71 knots / 82 mph speed, although with a different prop set up Pantera thinks to reach four extra nautical miles in top end.

New Model: Pantera 41

Pantera presents it's largest ever launched model, what is the 41.  The hull number one was actually a race only dedicated version for the Endurance Powerboat series of the UIM.  Hull two is a pleasure version as shown above and features the same deep Vee hull with 24 degrees dead rise aft and two steps. Accommodation is for the usual powerboat layout with a forward berth and a saloon, sleeping a total of four.  A separate shower head, and a  galley are to be found on the entrance.  Performance is dependant on engines but the above version with the smallest and standard twin Mercury petrol gas of 525hp each reaches 73 knots, 85 mph of top speed.

Project: Pantera 41

Pantera presents the project and rendering for a new bigger flagship model the 41. When launched this model will be Pantera biggest built to date taking over from the 36 as the flagship of the range. As usual from the US Miami Florida based builder, this will be a racing designed and ready powerboat with a fast sea kindly attitude. Hull shape is a deep vee with two steps and 24 degrees deadrise aft, all this aimed at reducing drag and increasing performance to the max. Pantera hulls are renowned for being fast but also very seaworthy. Interior accommodation as any respected powerboat will be classy and spartan, I would accept a saloon with a vee shape here but details have not been announced. Same goes for the twin engines with no numbers being given, but i would accept various twin petrol options with the smallest of these giving like 50 plus knots. Propulsion is twin stern drive. What would be surely nice is to see this Pantera compete in the World renowned PowerboatP1 series, hope that I encouraged someone from here.
