Web: Nimbus New Web Site

Swedish Nimbus boats presents its new World Wide web virtual showroom. Nimbus was started in 1968 in a certain way as a coincidence and a help request from Volvo in the sixties, who at the time had difficulty to market its engines and penetrate the marine leisure market. Harald Wiklund Volvo Penta head of the period ordered a boat to design engineer Pelle Peterson. This 26 feet boat was named Nimbus by Peterson and launched on Lake Vanern on September 1969. A year later to this the Nimbus 26 wins boat of the year, and in 1977 brothers Hans and Lars Wiklund start the Nimbus Boats company officially. After forty years following its first model Nimbus is one of the biggest Northern European pleasure boat builders and today the Swedish builder offers nine models divided into four styles; Commuter, Coupe Cruisers, Day Cruisers, and Tender. Nimbus entry level model is the Tender 9 model, and its current flagship is the 405 Flybridge. The new Nimbus website takes you around with the following buttons: Models, Dealers, Store and Spareparts, News, Concept, Our Story, Media, and Contact.  Nimbus is also on social media with link buttons taking you to its Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube pages.

Project: Nimbus 405 Coupe

Modern look design with clever, functional solutions this is in short the new 405 Coupé, what will be the largest of the popular and award winning sidewalk Nimbus Coupé series so far sold in over three thousand boats in its various models. Quite common from Scandinavian builders the sidewalk deck layout maximises walking space to starboard and makes it very easy to get on and off the boat and spend time on deck, while providing generous roominess in the cockpit and cabin.  The 405 is the largest of the Nimbus Coupé series, which includes the 335 and the 365 models. The 405 is based on the same concept as the award winning 365 Coupé, voted European Power Boat of the year 2012. The boat has many features that are similar to her smaller sister with the addition of new solutions. These include the D-pillar in a new design with integrated ventilation, wholly glazed aft door, electrically powered table on the aft deck, granny hatch in the stern, new engine room ventilation design with active outtake, and a galley with ceramic LPG hybrid hob.  Like the other models, the 405 Coupé is of modern design with integrated glued windows, a large wraparound windshield, opening flush-fitted sliding door to starboard and a large opening sunroof. The flush fitted side door is an integral part of the craft’s design while providing maximum walking space and a large door opening. The side door also allows the helmsman to steer the boat while standing on deck.  The helm station has also been remodelled with its panel that can be equipped with two 12 inch plotters side by side.  The boat has a large aft deck; which is flush with the bathing platform and saloon. The saloon features generous sized flat surfaces and is light and airy, roomy and modern while textiles and cushions that add cosy intimacy. The interior of the boat is highly finished in terms of quality materials and provides a feeling of spaciousness. Bulkhead ares finished in light coloured textiles that both enhance the sensation of space and absorb sound. The boat has three cabins. Improve-it = Nimbus 27 Nova S

Nimbus presents the E-power version for the 27 Nova S developed in collaboration with Electroengine AB, a company that develops solutions for electrical power in different kinds of vehicle, including private cars. The E-power 27 Nova S is a standard production boat, neither deck nor hull have been specially prepared or lightened in any way. In other words, the electric-powered engine we have installed has been given a really tough job. The power unit and the battery cells come from Electroengine. The transmission is a DPH duoprop drive from Volvo. This boat has a cruising speed of approximately 23 knots and a top speed of 27 knots. At cruising speed the boat has a range of 20 nautical miles. Nimbus says it will be able to present versions with longer range when the boat is launched onto the market. The craft is charged from a standard 230V power point. Charging takes 28 hours. When using a standard 3-phase 400V power point, full charging takes approximately four hours. A battery gauge replaces the fuel one to monitor the battery level. But just in case the power does run out, we have fitted a small diesel generator to get you home. The diesel generator runs at optimum speed to reduce emissions. The 27 Nova S E-power version will be built at the yards in Mariestad, Sweden. Nimbus hopes to move the E-power technology in its other boat brands as Ryds and Paragon in the very near future.

The Nimbus 365 Coupé was unveiled to the world on the occasion of the Nimbus Boats Open House in Långedrag between 22 and 24 August. This boat is the first of a brand new generation of Nimbus Coupés based on the successful "sidewalk" concept, a new type of deck layout that maximises the available space on one side of the boat, making deck communications easy, while at the same time adding cockpit and cabin spaces. The 365 Coupé has been developed with catchwords such as solid, functional, comfort and silence in mind using modern design employing environment conscious production technology. The plastic is manufactured solely by the latest vacuum injection, an extremely environment-friendly closed manufacturing process. producing a lighter and more rigid boat, giving better cruising speeds with less HP, which equals in less initial cost and fuel consumption. The lower accommodation deck offers a generous forward cabin with a large double berth, a guest cabin on the port side has a double bed plus a sofa, and a double entrance head with full-height shower cubicle with swinging door.
