New Model: Greenline 58 Fly

Greenline 58 Fly is here, so says the website of the Slovenian motor cruiser and yacht builder who raised into fame following the launch of its 32 model in 2008.  With this new flagship Greenline is celebrating fifteen years in business and over a thousand deliveries, a celebration which have seen the builder always pushing on its clean hybrid energy beliefs, and today has arrived in its fifth version of the H-drive electric-diesel-solar propulsion system.  Designed by Marco Casali the Greenline 58 Fly is a spacious eighteen meter motor yacht offering the latest design trends, from open view veranda aft decks, hard-top up top which can be optioned with more solar panels, and an astern galley main deck layout.  Down below the Italian designer and Slovenian builder present a spacious three double cabins three heads layout with a midships full beam owners stateroom.  A choice exists here to have a two head layout, and replace the third en-suite with a walk-in ward robe for the VIP suite, with an option for the third cabin to modify as an office room.  The new Greenline 58 Fly is standard powered by twin Cummins 610hp as standard with optional engines going up to 1000hp by Cats or Volvo for top speeds around thirty knots.  As in any Greenline the 58 Fly follows the Slovenian green energy offer with a 1.32kw solar power system which is optionable up to 3.63 kw if you add the extra panels in the hard-top, and a twin 25 or 100kw electric motors option.  Greenline cruising is here and with the smaller 25kw electric motors alone the 58 Fly is able to reach six knots top speed and cruise for 25 nautical miles at five knots, while with the larger 100kw top speed goes up to twelve knots and at seven knots cruises for 25 nm in electric mode only, and up to 500 nm with diesel generators.

Greenline New Web Site

Greenline from Slovenia updates its new virtual showroom to a new platform. Greenline was founded in 2007, when its owners the Seaway Group started developing what will be the first model of the range the 33. Before actually starting production the first Greenline, a lot of thinking went into research and design similar to that of an innovative car with designers JandJ developing four different hull geometries, and studying various hybrid, batteries and solar power solution. In 2008 Volkswagen Marine joins the project in order to develop a hybrid-electrical diesel power. In the fall of 2008 the first prototype was developed, with tooling of the first model being ready in 2009 and first six production test models being produced. These models where tested in a variety of conditions in several European countries, Mediterranean, North Sea, large lakes, rivers, and canals of Northern and Southern Europe. Greenline has sold over 120 units of the 33 in the first year; today delivered in over 550 units and received a total of eight awards.  Today Greenline offers nine models based on sustainability; starting from 33, and going up to the 68 OC, with its latest project being the upcoming 58 Fly. Greenline new website is available in English, German, Slovenian, Italian, and Turkish language and takes you around with the following buttons; About, Propulsion, Solar, Jobs, Blog, Charter, Contact, and Test Centers.  Greenline is also on social media with bottom links taking you to the Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Linkedin pages.

Project: Greenline 58 Fly

In light of the success of the 45 Fly, Greenline is delighted to reveal the latest addition to its revolutionary range of flybridge cruisers, the 58 Fly. Launching in autumn 2022, the all-new 58 Fly fits into the range to bridge the gap between the popular 48 Fly and flagship 68 OceanClass models.  The 58 Fly marks the beginning of a new partnership between Greenline, Marco Casali of Too Design and MICAD engineering. Casali has penned a fresh exterior look for this new model with clean lines and tight proportions retaining the focus on elements that make a Greenline such a pleasurable boat to live aboard. The single-level main deck with aft galley ensures the saloon and cockpit combine to create a large living and entertaining area and the cut-outs in the forward bulwarks align to deliver spectacular views over the water from the lower deck.  From the deck spaces to the arrangement of the interior the 58 Fly has the flexibility in its layout to suit a wide variety of needs. At the stern, an extended hydraulic bathing platform with a 500kg lift capacity and aft-facing transom bench form an idyllic waterside living area with the cockpit’s glass balustrade creating the perfect terrace over the sea. The cockpit seating sits at 90 degrees from the traditional arrangement with its benches running along the boat’s centreline so that everyone seated at the table has a view over the water. With a pair of director’s chairs six can dine but the extended table and an extra set of chairs allow eight people to sit in the shade and comfort of the well-protected cockpit. When not called upon for dining duties, the hi-lo table and a set of in-fill cushions convert this area into a spacious day bed with a wonderful connection to the beach club aft. Forward, as well as more sun bathing space on the coach-roof, two aft-facing seats are arranged opposite a cosy bench to create an intimate living space that offers excellent privacy if moored stern-to.  The flybridge comes as standard with a radar mast mounted at its aft end, a good option for those cruising in areas with restricted air draught but a substantial carbon fibre T-top offers excellent protection on the top deck. A well-equipped wet bar, spacious dinette and open space aft for free-standing furniture make for a flybridge that excels as an area for guests to relax and enjoy day or night.  On board, a bright and spacious main deck with Greenline’s familiar aft galley layout gives way to a voluminous accommodation deck that bristles with innovation. The standard arrangement comprises three cabins, two bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes for the master and VIP ensuites. The master cabin stretches across the boat’s full beam amidships, with a double VIP in the bow and a generous twin to starboard. It is possible to sacrifice the walk-in wardrobe in the VIP to make space for a third bathroom that becomes a day head but the real game-changer on this deck is the option to replace the twin guest cabin with a dedicated study. In a world where we are working in a new way, this fully fitted out office space with built-in monitors, HDMI and USB points, printer storage and a stylish yet functional office chair allows owners to work remotely in comfort with the genuine functionality of a home office. A sofa that converts into a single berth built into this arrangement offers occasional sleeping space if needed.  A crew cabin with a single berth or bunk beds is available but on owner-run boats this area can be used as a utility space and workshop, the added storage space a big advantage for those who wish to stay on board for extended periods. With the 58 Fly, Greenline Yachts cements its position as the leading manufacturer of boats with alternative propulsion. An array of 11 solar panels arranged across the flybridge and hard top structures produce 3.6kW of power and allow the boat’s domestic services to run without a noisy diesel generator. Additionally, a newly developed hybrid system with a pair of 25kW motors includes an adaptable hydraulic clutch that means it can be connected inline to any shaft drive engine.  Standard engine choices include 610hp and 715hp Cummins diesels, both available with Hybrid Drive, and a diesel only twin 1,000hp Caterpillar option for a top speed of 30 knots. The Cummins 715s with Hybrid Drive will push the 58 Fly to a top speed of 26 knots, cruise at 20 knots and cruise on electric power only at 6 knots for a range of 30 nautical miles on a full charge. Weight saving is a key part of the 58 Fly’s engineering in respect of the fact that every tonne of weight sacrifices 1 knot of speed. To this end, carbon fibre is used throughout the boat, namely in the hard top and superstructure, in order to keep weight down and a new lightweight core in the sandwich construction has been introduced with the same goal in mind.

Project: Greenline 45 Coupe

At Düsseldorf boat show 2021 Greenline Yachts will launch the 45 Coupe. Based on the hull, drivetrain and layout of the celebrated 45 Fly, the Coupe offers year-round usability thanks to its electric sunroof and, with a reduced air draught, is well suited to cruising on inland waterways as well as offshore. Without the flybridge in place there is increased surface area on the boat’s roof for the installation of solar panels. There are eight panels in totalling 2.4kW, which on a sunny day can produce a charge of over 15kWh,  more than enough to run the boat with four people on board without resorting to a noisy generator. Sharing its DNA with the 45 Fly, the Coupe Botswana architecture by JandJ Design and an interior by Italian Marco Casali of Too Design. As well as a range of twin shaft drive engine options with or without Hybrid Drive, the boat is available with Volvo Penta twin 440hp and IPS pod drives for a top speed up to thirty knots.

New Model: Greenline Oceanclass 68

An evolution of the OceanClass 65, Greenline present the new OceanClass 68 a milestone for the Slovenian boat builder as it’s the largest production hybrid yacht ever built. Using a combination of twin Cummins 1000hp diesel engines and a pair of 60kW electric motors, the twenty meter flagship motor yacht is capable of 7 knots on electric power alone with a silent, emission-free cruising range of 40nm thanks to a 138kWh battery bank. As an option this capacity can be doubled. The top speed under engine power is 25 knots and with a fuel capacity of 5,000 litres the cruising range at 7 knots is 1,800nm. The OceanClass is a capable long-distance cruising vessel with vacuum-infused foam core construction and RCD Class A certification, meaning it is certified safe for ocean use.  On board, the yacht is fitted with Simrad multi-function displays and navigation equipment with digital switching and a full suite of high-end Miele appliances that run off a 20kW alternator, negating the need for a diesel generator.  The yacht can sleep six guests in three spacious ensuite cabins and two crew members in their own separate quarters.

New Model: Greenline 45 Fly

Greenline will expand their range of eco-conscious motor yachts at the 2019 Cannes boat show with the introduction of the new 45 Fly. This all-new model is already proving a sales hit with 25 confirmed orders and production capacity doubling to two units per month. Delivery time is now early summer 2020.  Greenline 45 Fly is unique in its sector, both in terms of its impressive variety of propulsion options and the choice between three lower deck layout, which offer from two extremely luxurious ensuite cabins with walk-in wardrobes or a three-cabin variant with two spacious bathrooms.  Thanks to the fourth generation of Greenline’s game-changing diesel/electric/hybrid technology no boat of this size offers the quiet, emission-free sustainable boating experience that the 45 Fly does. The combination of solar panels, an in-line electric motor and inverter-charger mean that 230V AC is available at all times without the need to resort to a noisy generator.  A significant added benefit is totally silent, emission-free cruising for up to thirty nautical miles at five knots, perfect for inland navigation or approaching anchorages. The Greenline 45 Fly is equipped with domestic-standard appliances including a full-size fridge/freezer, induction hob, oven and AC sockets so there is no need to use adapters. Every Greenline model has AC power as standard and the technology works constantly to maintain a stable feed of domestic energy without needing to resort to shore power or a generator.  Volvo Penta and Yanmar engines are available and, as standard, the boat is fitted with a pair of 220hp shaft drive diesel engines but up to twin 370hp motors are available for a top speed of 25 knots. For those craving higher performance and the ease of joystick control, Volvo twin 380hp and or 440hp are available with IPS pod drives propulsion, the latter capable of 30 knots. The shaft drive and IPS hulls are built specifically for their drive-train ensuring optimum performance whichever propulsion choice is selected.  Renowned architects JandJ Design are responsible for the exterior styling and naval architecture. Though Greenline 45 Fly may have a sporty profile and beautiful lines, it is a practical and spacious cruising yacht, ideal for extended stays on the water with family and friends. Between the sheltered cockpit, comfortable fore-deck with its collapsible canopy for shade and deep, well-proportioned flybridge, guests will always be able to find their perfect corner to relax in. Options such as the transom galley with BBQ grill and sink, and the hi-lo bathing platform are practical additions, which also offer an invaluable connection to the water. Here there is also dedicated storage for water toys with the option of a hydraulic hatch to make access as easy as possible.  On board, a new partnership with lauded Italian superyacht designer Marco Casali of Too Design lends a stylish, sophisticated air to the interior filled with natural light thanks to the liberal use of glass in the superstructure.  Greenline Yachts signature aft-galley configuration links seamlessly with the cockpit and puts the cook in the heart of the action whether they’re serving outdoor areas or the expansive internal dinette.  The 45 Fly is brimming with outstanding features but the amidships master suite is the ace up its sleeve. Fitted with a king-size island bed and flooded with natural light by its large hull windows, this cabin feels as if it has come from the class above. The ensuite is big enough to incorporate a separate shower cubicle but it’s the walk-in dressing room that really sets it apart from the competition. Fitted with hanging storage, drawers, bright spotlights and a dressing table, this is a slice of luxury unheard of on a craft this size.  Incredibly, in the standard layout configuration guests in the forward VIP cabin have a similarly extravagant walk-in dressing area of their own, providing unrivalled levels of comfort for all on board.  The forward VIP has over two meters of headroom and bathes in natural light thanks to eye-level windows that align with cut-outs in the forward bulwarks for stunning views across the water. Classy round portholes at bed-level offer ventilation without the need to turn on the air-conditioning.  Alternative deck layouts sacrifice the main cabins walk-in dressing rooms in order to make space for either a small double bed or pair of bunk beds and a sizeable wardrobe; three such generous cabins are a rarity on a boat of just fourteen meters. Though up to six people can comfortably sleep aboard the 45 Fly, its safe, protected side decks and the door at the lower helm plus a bulwark gate mean it is very easy to handle as a couple or even single-handed if required.

OceanClass is the re-brand of the models at fifty feet plus coming from the Greenline stable owned by the Seaway Yachts group.  The first model to come from this brand was the 70 labelled at launch as Greenline about, but now Seaway is making OceanClass becoming its own reality by adding this new 57 and 88 projects as future additions.  Designed by J and J Design for the OceanClass 57 the architects create external looks similar to what they showed with the 70.  An interesting feature of the external design are the two reverse shear lines.  The one at middle has the design use to give the saloon windows full view, and the other more to aft divied cockpit deck from side bulwurks corridor.  Inside J and J also went for a more traditional set up by putting the owners statroom to fore.  But the surprise is that this at least on plan looks to be spacious if not more to midships full beam. The living on the OceanClass 57 is all located on the main deck with the galley splitting the saloon from the more relaxing area to those of dining and helm.  Power is twin 600hp engines with twin line shafts propulsion and a top speed of 24 knots being estimated.
