New Model: Evo Yachts R+ 17.71m

For the 2023 fall boat show round-up Evo Yachts presented the new R+, a fully enclosed hard top sport yacht which takes boating into the future.  The R+ is based on the hull of the 2019 launched Evo Yachts R6, which was followed by an Open variant in Summer 2020.  This new R+ which uses the hull and a complete different layout outside and inside takes the opposite route to its more open sisters for a fully enclosed hard top with patio door. The enclosed main deck, ideal for long, comfortable stays on board, is added by a multipurpose stern platform which extends astern and apart easy to launch and haul up tender or jet ski generates a split level second entertainment area with the aft deck. For this first unit of the R+ the owner did not opt for the extendable Evo bulkheads in the aft cockpit which extend away, but are always available as an option in future builds.  As the other Evo Yachts, designer Valerio Rivellini in the R+ silhouette shows eye-catching modern minimal sporty lines with the aluminium top painted in black emphasizing futuristic angular looks, in keeping with Evo Yachts signature style, while the interiors feature high ceilings for maximum comfort and liveability for this unit offered a living lounging galley area on the main deck with a three double cabins lower deck. The minimal, sporty and dynamic style chosen for the interiors is a hallmark of the R line with interior design and exterior styling express the desire to achieve the ideal combination of dynamism and onboard comfort with futuristic modernity.  The Evo R+ is powered by twin Volvo 725hp with IPS pod drives propulsion for a top speed up to 34 knots and a cruise of 26.

Project: Evo R4 XT

Technology, design and a desire to experiment with new ways of experiencing the sea, these are the ingredients in Evo R4 XT, the latest addition to the Evo Yachts fleet. The new thirteen metre yacht is the result of collaboration between Blu Emme Yachts, Besenzoni and designer Valerio Rivellini, three protagonists in the sector who stand for high-adrenaline performance, technological excellence and unprecedented design solutions, all promises that Evo R4 XT fulfils in every way. The Evo R4 XT is the world’s only sport walkaround to be fitted with a totally custom multifunction stern platform, developed by Besenzoni exclusively for the shipyard based on a design by Valerio Rivellini. In addition to increasing the boat’s length by a whole metre, this transformer tender lift enables the entire length of the stern platform to dip fully underwater.  Excluding the changes in the stern the XT will keep the similar layout of the R4 inside and outside and is powered by Volvo stern drive or IPS pod propulsion up to a to a total of 870hp.

Improve-it = Evo Yachts R6

A new unit was recently launched of the Evo R6, the 18-metre yacht that epitomises the long-term vision of the Blu Emme Yachts yard. Compared to her two sisters, this custom EVO R6 features new layouts, both externally and internally, and alternative furnishing solutions developed together with the German owner, who envisaged a boat with a more aggressive look perfect for celebrations and parties. The exterior layout has been modified to create a bar with a linear and functional design behind the stern sun-pad. The brushed stainless steel structure and apparently suspended teak counter are seamlessly integrated with the unit containing a fridge, freezer and icemaker unit. The spacious sun-pad sofa is a small masterpiece of design. Technological, transformable and extendable, it encapsulates all the brand’s distinctive characteristics. Guests can use this feature to revolutionise the layout of the area in seconds: the backrest can be adjusted manually and transformed into seating for the bar, while the sun-pad can be extended in width using an electric mechanism to form a C-shaped sofa overlooking the water. Even the smallest details have been designed with the greatest care: the sofa seems to hang in the air thanks to its clever structure and, unlike the previous two units in which the sun-pad has a 2.8-metre tender housed beneath it, there’s a special hatch to gain access to the jet boards. The lateral Xtension bulwarks, on the other hand, contain two Seabobs, with a sliding system for ease of use.  In the cockpit, the kitchen unit is in the same style as the bar and has been redesigned to accommodate a bigger grill. Also transformable are the new hanging pilot’s seat, the cockpit sofa with a backrest that can be used as an extra seat, and the cockpit table, which has an electric “up and down” mechanism and can be used either for lunch or drinks. The windscreen has two openings at the bottom to allow fresh air to circulate and make the cockpit even more comfortable.  The forward sun-pad and sofa have also been revolutionised in this new version of the Evo R6 by adding mobile backrests.  Below deck, the interior design is in a Northern European minimalist style, with clean, simple and squared off lines combined with a palette of pale colours. The owner has chosen a layout with three cabins plus a spacious dinette that can be turned into a fourth cabin. Once again, the Yard and designer Valerio Rivellini have shown their ability to customise the layout of a 58-footer and translate the owner’s needs into a masterpiece of functionality and design. First presented with two cabins plus crew and then revisited in a three-cabin version on the Open model, this third version of the Evo R6 offers four guest cabins and three bathrooms.

Project: Evo Yachts R6 Open

Evo Yachts presents the project of the R6 Open which was planned to launch at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2020. Signed by designer Valerio Rivellini, the new eighteen meter sport yacht is the open version of Evo R6, the successful R-Line flagship launched last year, also at Cannes, from which it inherits the elegant design and flexible spaces.  Compared with the classic version, the new R6 Open features a steel roll-bar in place of the t-top, consisting of a suspended wing that connects the two uprights. The resulting design has sporty, flowing lines that perfectly convey a feeling of lightness. And this focus on lightness is also clear to see in the details, like the decision not to place the antennas on the wing itself, but in a raised profiles above it, so that they become an integral part of the structural design. A retractable bimini provides shade for the pilot seat and the forward section of the cockpit, which is fitted out with a big dining area and illuminated at night by courtesy lights on the roll-bar, in an evocative play of light. This outdoor area is joined by three more: from the spacious forward sunbathing area with facing bow seating, to the sunpad island in the beach lounge, and finally the modular swim platform in the stern, with its multiple uses.  Like all the models in the Evo Yachts range, the beach lounge area is the stand out feature on the boat, not least because of the yard’s signature “XTension” bulwarks system, which opens out sideways in a matter of seconds to increase the available space by 40%. The central sunpad is spacious enough to house a 2.85-meter tender beneath it.  The layout of Evo R6 Open is an invitation to socialise and relax in an immersive experience, at one with the natural environment. Despite being a pure open, the below deck area offers every comfort and plenty of headroom, with a layout that features a dinette, the owner’s cabin, two doubles for guests in the stern, and two bathrooms.  With two possible engine configurations, a pair of Volvo 600 and or optional 750hp with IPS pod propulsion the Evo R6 Open has a top speed of 35 knots and a range of 280 miles.

Project: Evo Yachts Velar 78

In December 2019, designer Valerio Rivellini launched a new concept for a stunningly innovative 70 foot yacht that also incorporates the strengths of a sailboat. This concept has been transformed into a working project through synergy between the designer’s desire to break free of convention and the strategic vision and construction capabilities of Evo Yachts, the Blue Emme Yachts brand that has built a reputation on the market both for its range of open yachts with “XTension” bulwarks and for its tenders. In partnership, they developed Rivellini’s Velar 70 concept and transformed it into the Velar 78, with content and dimensions that make it a better fit for the shipyard’s development plans. Velar 78 is a 24 meter explorer motor yacht with a refined, minimalist design created for a leisurely and relaxed lifestyle at sea. It is a yacht that defies classification, combining the strengths of both motor yachts and sailboats.  Velar 78 goes beyond the expected. The big yacht wheel gives the owner the sensation of captaining a sailboat, while the helm station in the deck house offers a protected alternative out of the elements, equipped with a joystick drive that is perfect for complicated maneuvering or in rough seas and replaces the wheel, like on an aircraft. The glazed surfaces in the deck house are designed to disappear completely out of view, turning the boat into a pure open with T-top.  Velar 78 is a yacht for owners who want to experience the thrill of travel in a new but yet traditional way, mindful of reduced consumption and eco-sustainability. The keywords are contemplation, sharing and convenience. This model therefore represents the first step in a new direction of innovation and real progress, as well as a confirmation of the successful partnership between the shipyard and the designer. Evo Yachts and Valerio Rivellini are back at work together after creating high profile models like the multiple award winning R4, R6, and T2 tender.  With the Velar 78, on which construction work recently began and will be completed in early 2021, Evo Yachts adds a new series, the Velar line, to expand the existing range: the R-Line, with the R4, R4WA and R6 models, and the T-line with the T2 and, coming soon, the T3 model.

Project: Evo Yachts Velar 70

Valerio Rivellini, the well-known naval engineer and yacht designer who made his mark with the creation of the innovative Evo Yachts models, presents a groundbreaking concept standing out for originality and appeal. Velar 70 is a 21 meters  original design explorer yacht with refined, minimalist interiors, designed for sea lovers who want to enjoy comfort in cruising keeping a careful eye on consumption. This new appealing project is the perfect match between creativity and ease of construction, combining strong points of a motorboat and a sailboat. Rivellini is the designer of a series of internationally appreciated projects, such as Evo R4, the latest Evo R6, recently awarded at Cannes Yachts Trophy 2019 for the best exterior design, and Evo T2, a best-of-breed tender built with remarkable attention to detail. He is also involved in successful projects as Gozzo, a double-ended traditional Italian fishing boat designed and built by Mimi. Creativity-driven design, focus on innovation and form and function solutions are the highlights of his work. Velar 70 stands out for its comfort and generous exteriors, combined with refined, minimalist interior design. The big ship’s wheels give the owner the feeling of helming a sailboat, while the yacht can also be handled from the more protected and comfortable helm station in the deckhouse. A joystick can replace the wheel in case of complicated maneuvering or rough sea. The boat’s design is minimal and functional but fully appointed with accessories that ensure a high level of comfort without being visible, such as the tender crane and the multi function sea ladders. The glazed surfaces in the deck-house can be fully retracted turning the boat into a pure open with T-top. Another important feature of Rivellini’s work is his close attention to the evolution of the different tendencies in yacht design. The trend that inspired this project is the return to a traditional way of living the sea, enjoying the time on board and the surrounding landscape, looking for calm, comfort and conviviality rather than performance in navigation.  The result is a type of product both for families and singles, appealing to a broad segment of the international market. The interior layout offers four cabins for eight guests: a VIP cabin forward, an owner’s suite with a living room overlooking the sea and two double guest cabins. All the settings are roomy and comfortable for long stays on board. The yacht is powered by a pair of Volvo 480hp engines, with IPS forward looking dual propeller pod drives.  Cruising speed of around sixteen knots are anticipated.

Project: Evo Yachts R5

After the success of the 43 and WA models, Evo Yachts is looking forward to expand its range not only on its now popular thirteen meter platform, but also for fully new and bigger models.  Enters the Evo Yachts R5, a project for a t-top style sport yacht which aims to take the footprint and features of the 43 model into a bigger fifteen meter plus size.  So far Blu Emme the company who owns and founded Evo Yachts in 2015 with the introduction of the 43 and the Rivellini design team is not giving much details about the R5.  What we can say is that like its smaller 43 sister the R5 is full of minimal modern design, and will have the technological innovation which made the small Evo Yacht famous.

Project: Evo Yachts 43 WA

After Evo 43 the day sport cruiser that has sealed the success of the Italian brand, the shipyard adds a new yacht to its collection to carry on the Open revolution: the 43 WA for walk around.  Designed by Studio Tecnico Rivellini, with interiors and exteriors by Valerio Rivellini, and built by Blu Emme Yachts, the brand new Walk Around springs from the same design concept that has always set Evo Yachts apart from the rest, right from the outset: clean lines and a minimalist design, accompanied by a series of original solutions to ensure that it can be enjoyed to its full potential, based on the concept of form and function. The standout feature of this second 13-meter model of the Evo fleet is the fact that you can move easily between the stern beach area and the bow by ‘walking around’ the helm station. This characteristic, which gives the yacht its name and is borrowed from the world of fishing boats, is masterfully integrated in the elegant and contemporary style that is a distinctive feature of the Evo Yachts collection.  Evo WA, like the previous model, is fitted with the original feature that has made this innovative Made in Italy cruiser so famous: the “XTension” stern sidewalls that can be opened hydraulically in less than thirty seconds by simply tapping a touchscreen. This increases the space in the beach area by 40%, turning it into a sea terrace covering over 25 square meters, something usually only offered by boats more than twice the size. It is in this area of the cockpit that the Evo WA’s most original solutions can be found, with a series of arrangements possible according to the owner’s needs and the time of day. The options include: up to three chaise lounges, a retractable table in the center or sun lounging cushions that can be converted into benches or used as comfortable floating mats. It can also be fitted with the stern Transformer, a convenient platform that rotates through about 270 degrees and acts as a gangway, a bathing ladder, a diving platform or a tender lift. The same area also contains a hideaway cooking area that can be fitted with an induction hob, a teppanyaki griddle or a BBQ, according to the owner’s wishes.  All operations on board are aided by latest generation home automation solutions that allow all the yacht’s navigation parameters and basic functions to be managed from an iPad. The carefully engineered solutions ensure that all operations are extremely intuitive and user-friendly. In fact, Evo WA is designed to be enjoyed even by owners with limited experience, particularly because the yacht is so easy and responsive to maneuvering when mooring with the easy use of IPS pod drives.  The Evo WA design process also focuses on performance: twin Volvo 435hp engines, combined with the 18° deadrise deep-V hull, give the yacht a top speed of 40 knots and a cruising speed of 32 knots.  The new Evo 43 WA will make its official debut at the next Cannes boat show in September 2017, where it will be on show with the successful 43 model.

New Model: Evo Yachts 43

Evo Yachts is a fresh new brand part of the Sea Engineering Group who also owns Blue Martin, and Blue Ice names.  The Evo 43 was the boat that stole the show at the 2015 Cannes and Genoa events.  Not surprisingly so, the stern of the 43 Evo is innovation at its best, and a new meaning to transformation.  It transforms and look different thanks to the full opening for both sides and stern, doubling the space of the area. Styling wise the designers of the Evo 43, Studio Rivellini went to straight out minimal style with a bit of homage to the fore bearer of this design, the famous Wally Power 118, see engine intakes. Interior wise the Evo will sleep four persons in a convertible dinette forward, and a double cabin at midships.  Power for the Evo 43 is from twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pod drives which give a top speed up to 38 knots.
