New Model: Dominator Midi Ilumen M35

The smaller Ilumen series has been coming for three years from Dominator, with the first announcement for a mini-sized tender at about seven meters coming in 2020.  In 2022 Dominator announced a slightly larger Midi Ilumen, at over ten meters in length is under construction, and finally the M35 has debuted the past Summer 2023.  A request from a customer who owns a Dominator Ilumen 28M, the Midi Ilumen M35 is a scaled 40% smaller of the bigger super yacht version in both looks and size.  A day cruiser and boat with an exterior layout offering two sun-pads aft with a central passageway which one step down leads you to cockpit with two L-shaped settees, and a wet-bar. The lower deck in the Midi Ilumen M35 offers a V-shaped dinette forward which transforms to a double berth, with a small galley to entrance and well sized shower head opposite to starboard.  In the Midi Ilumen the style versus practicality is a recurring theme, but the M35 has practical details in its own way.  One of the things to like is for example the deep central cockpit wrapped around by the super yacht looking windscreen and radar arch.  The Dominator Midi Ilumen M35 hull one is powered by twin Volvo 300hp diesels for a top speeds up to 37 knots, and a 25 cruise giving an important 350 nautical miles range.
Technical Data:
LOA - 10.5 m (34.9ft)
Beam - 3.20 m

Displacement - 8.5 t

Project: Dominator Ilumen Performance P66

Dominator returns where it started in building planning flybridge motor yachts and presents the project for the Ilumen Performance P66.  Dominator was founded in 1999 on the remains of the original Mochi-Craft yard founded in 1960, and becoming a symbol of flybridge cruisers in eighties.  This new Ilumen Performance P66 looks to based on the Dominator 620, which is one of the Austrian owned Italian builder best sellers and based on the Mochi 19 Sonic designed by Nuvolari Lenard.  Dominator is saying P66 hull one will have a trendy dark grey metallic paint with seductive orange design elements complementing the exterior furniture.  This theme continues inside by pairing shades of grey in different textures with modern orange tones to achieve an impression of timeless chic. Exquisite grey marbles with artistic orange veins transform the bar into the center of attention in the salon while the grey oak gives a touch of classic yet contemporary look and feel.  Dominator advises that the Ilumen Performance is a new range of motor yachts blending the best of both worlds with futuristic features like full carbon hard-top, full length hull windows for light filled interior spaces, and a flybridge that can convert into a private sunbathing area, all with planning hull advantages of speed and smooth performance in any kind of sea.  Based on this I think we will see some of the previous Dominator flybridge models redesigned, rebadged, and returned into production as is the case with 620-P66.

Project: Dominator 10.5m Midi-Ilumen

Dominator present the project for a 10.5 meter Midi-Ilumen sport cruiser. First announced as a Mini-Ilumen seven meter tender in 2020, the project has evolved apparently into the Midi-Ilumen, a 10.5 meter weekender sport cruiser featuring the design, safety and comfort of a much bigger size boat.  So far very little details are available for the Midi-Ilumen apart the fact that unlike the Mini version it has lower deck accommodation.  The rendering above shows a very innovative modern design.  The Mini-Ilumen was project to have top end speeds about forty knots, and an economic long range in around 25, with estimated range at this speed of an impressive 300 nautical miles.  If these numbers are followed in the Midi-Ilumen that pretty good for a sport cruiser of ten meters in length.  When announced in 2020 the idea of the Mini-Ilumen's was for this to be a range featuring three models from seven to thirteen meters in size.

Project: Dominator Ilumen 42m Tri Deck

Dominator apparently will announce the sale for the Ilumen 42m Tri Deck its new flagship in the upcoming Cannes 2019 boat show.  The Dominator Ilumen 42m Tri Deck continues the evolution of the now fully dedicated upwards of 24 meters super yacht builder, and come from a design of Alberto Mancini, the designer responsible for all the Ilumen range.  The Ilumen 42m Tri Deck is set to be delivered in 2020, and is a triple deck super yacht with a hard top sun deck, and fast semi displamcent hull with bulb.  The Ilumen range was introduced in 2014 and from a unique model in the line up, has since then taken over the Dominator range.  This is a bit of a pity as I think the Dominator range of high quality semi custom motor and super yachts from nineteen to 25 meters did have a special place in the market.

Dominator New Web Site

Dominator Yachts launches its new virtual Internet showroom. Dominator was founded in 1999 by Giandonato Sigismondi, and in 2001 it launched its first model the 65 which later was renamed as 680 and produced till 2012. Sigismondi boat building career goes much previously to Dominator with him producing his first boat in 1981 the sailing craft Mizar 31, and later joining Mochi Craft, here seeing a great successful period for this marque who in the eighties thanks to the Paolo Caliari designed yachts became a symbol of the Italian yachting design renaissance.  Dominator was indeed a Mochi Craft model designation produced in ten different variants from eight to twelve meters in size and types in the seventies and eighties. Since the first half of 2010 Dominator has been taken over by an Austrian Investment Group. Dominator has so far delivered over one hundred yachts and super yachts from the 62 up to the 40M model. A great success considering the big competition today in motor and super yachts between the nineteen and forty meter size. Today Dominator is to concentrate on the Alberto Mancini designed Ilumen range which launched in Summer 2017 with the 28M.  Four other Ilumen Dominators are to follow; 24M, 32M, 36M, and the 38M Tri Deck currently under construction.  Alberto Mancini is Domintor third designer, following the first models designed by Nuovlari Lenard, and second generation series designed by Team for Design of Enrico Gobbi.  Dominator new website takes you around with the following buttons; Yachts, Bespoke, Inside Dominator, News, Service, Press, and Contact.  Dominator is also present on social media with link buttons taking you to its Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube pages.

Project: Dominator 38M Ilumen

Dominator Yachts began work on the new Ilumen 38M tri-deck superyacht. The design will be developed, amongst others, by Luca Catino, and Giorgio M. Cassetta Design. Like its predecessor, 38M Ilumen will be executed to client’s exclusive requirements. According to the designer, the choice of materials reflects the current trends, but gravitates to the classics. Expect spacious interior and incredible glazing. The task before the project team is not easy: to reproduce unique lines of 28M Ilumen in a brand new version of the yacht and, of course, repeat its success.  The Dominator 38M Ilumen is standard powered by twin Man 1900hp which give max speeds up to 15 knots.  Alternatively it can be powered by twin MTU of 2575hp which increases top speed up to 21 knots.

Project: Dominator D26 M Ilumen

Since Wolfgang Pernsteiner took over Dominator, the company has been making important forward movements to become the elite yacht builder. Now in recent days Dominator has been showing this innovative D26 M Ilumen project on the background of its website. Designed by Alessandro Mancini the D26 M Ilumen seems a break through innovative project from Domintor not only in the looks, layout, but also in the technical side. Dominator will be giving full details of this project during the Cannes show, but as an appetizer I can tell you that the D26 M Ilumen will feature an innovative power system with four modes, a master cabin forward on the main deck with 270 degrees views, and one of the largest flybridge in its size. At this stage we can only say to Dominator to bring the D26M Ilumen on, that is from project to reality.

New Model: Dominator 780

Designed by Team 4 the new Dominator 780 is a modern motor yacht wanting to make a revolution in its size and style, with the Adriatic sea based builder presenting an ultra moder design to make the competition look old, but at the same time keep its traditional values as deep side decks and a classic yacht concept to the boats configuration. Amazing spaces, high sophistication, sleek contours, and unique solutions designed to minimize the barriers between interior and exterior space are present in the 780 which is a motor yacht standing in the door step to a super yacht size. Forward looking solutions that deserve a mention is the splendid side window that stretches from the lounge all the way down to the main deck, from where you can enjoy sea views comfortably stretched out on a luxurious lounger. Another feature is the double horizontal window in the master cabin that offers incredible views to the sea. Interiors on the Dominator 780 are a spacious four owner guest cabins with four or five heads. Finishing is elegant plaited leather alternated with fine marble panelling. Exterior spaces are according to Dominator the most spacious for its size: with the flying bridge including a large living area with a sofa, table for eight guests, sunbed, bar cabinet, and seats. Various optionals are also available, including a jacuzzi tub in the bow, located next to a vast sunbed and a handy dinette. New Model: Dominator 29M

A waited debut for the new Dominator flagship, the 29M. Team 4 Design along with Dominator Engineering Department, projected the new 95 feet flagship, current biggest model from this Italian builder. Team 4 presents an interesting exterior with aggressive accents for a sporty profile, with a distinctive design thanks to the amount of big view windows, on the lower deck as well as on the upper. Other innovations for the new flagship comes for the retractable bathing platform aft which when open extends to double the size, and the opening terrace on the portside of the full beam owners cabin. The accommodation all located on the lower deck follows a conventional 4 cabins layout: full beam mid ship owner, VIP to fore, and two guest cabins in between all with en-suite heads. Though the bathroom for the owner and the position of the VIP cabin, which feels as a full beam are also a bit unusual in concept and design to the competition. Crew cabins and lobby is located midship. Another big environment for the 29M is also the flybridge area, having huge amounts of free spaces, thanks also to the tender garage located aft on the lower deck. Thanks to Jimmy the Builder who provided us with the 3rd photo from the Dubai show.

Projects: Dominator 92, Dominator 105, Dominator 115

The new Domintor 92 will be the new flagship for the Italian boat builder founded in 1999. Expected to be unveiled the fall of this year, this new model continues the revolution in form function design and has huge panoramic windows views for the cabins. T4 Team designed a sleek and aggressive profile. Interior layout is a spacious four double cabins for guests and a separate crew accommodation for 3. Length over all is 29.1 metres which extends to 30 once the private beach style bathing platform is lowered. Power comes from MTU V16s 2 x 2.210 hp or the optional 2 x 2.434 HP.
Expected to be launched next year the Dominator 105, continues the philosophy of the Fano shipyard to launch aggressive styled motoryachts with plenty of innovations. The rendering design is already teasing on innovative features like the skyroom on the flybridge, the forward dining area and the side opening bathing platform which will be a first for yacht of this size. I think at this stage we just have to wait for the launch of this project. The Dominator 115 is the future flagship for the shipyard and is an evolution of the 105 model with the extra 10 feet of length. Construction is expected for 2008. As the is the case for the 105, little information is available for this project, accept for the rendering design which shows innovative futures as mentioned for it's smaller sister.

Project: Dominator 75

The Fano Yacht Builder, presents this project which is the replacement for the Dominator 78 after 10 years of production for this model. The new 24 mtr motor yacht will offer a spacious 4 cabin 4 heads layout with 2 berth crew cabin aft. The theme of this 75 feet motor yacht are the large windows in every area, in order to allow the maximum gain of natural light inside, but also impressive outside space especially on the flybridge but also the unique Jacuzzi pool on the forward deck, which to my knowledge is a unique option for this size. As usual with all Dominator yachts a huge customization offer is available for both inside and outside, making all yachts unique in a certain way to the wishes of the client. Engine option should be for a pair of MAN and MTU from 1360 up to 1550 HP.
