Project: Couach 1500 Mediterranean

Couach is celebrating the start of what promises to be a strong year with the sale of the first of its 1500 models. The fifteen meter sport yacht has a sporty, streamlined and tapered profile which is at once graceful and striking. Drawing inspiration from the Guy Couach 1600, it sits at the heart of the Mediterranean sport cruisers and yachts line-up from eleven to fifteen meters presented by Couach. The Couach 1500 features a large bow area for relaxation and sunbathing at anchor or for a thrilling ride when underway. The extensive sun pads that can be removed to allow natural light to flood into the master cabin below via the skylight. The walk-around decks lead to the generous aft deck, a relaxing and open space that transforms from sofa and coffee table with accompanying freestanding seating to a large dining table for up to eight guests. Double sets of stairs on port and starboard lead down to the large swimming platform, the perfect spot from which to enjoy water sports, and large enough to stow a tender or a jet bike. The 1500’s main deck interior features large windows to emphasize the sense of space, and a large L-shaped sofa facing a wall-mounted television. Amidships, a compact and practical galley to starboard sits alongside the steering console with double helm seats. Below deck, the luxuriously-finished accommodation is befitting of the renowned Couach name. The double master cabin features large windows on both sides of the hull as well as the aforementioned skylight. The large hull windows, which reinforce the yacht’s modern profile, continue amidships past the two shared bathrooms, one of which has ensuite access for the master cabin, and into the two twin cabins amidships, which can be specified with convertible double beds. In the lazarette, astern of the twin inboard engines, there is space for stowage for a RIB tender in a garage.  A proven seaworthy platform, the 15-metre deep-V hull form of the 1500 has been tried and tested on over fifty patrol boats currently in use on the Arabian Peninsula. The yacht is fitted with twin Volvo 435hp engines with IPS600 pod drives as standard, delivering a top speed of 28 knots and a cruise of 22 knots totaling a range of about 350nm.

Web: Couach New Web Site

A new web showroom from renowned French Motor and Super Yacht builder Couach Yachts. Founded in 1897 as a marine engine company, Couach goes on in 1946 to start building boats with the Arcoa Yachts brand, and in 1962 forms the Guy Couach Yachts brand. In 1970 the French brand offers yachts from twelve to sixteen meters which get incredible recognition, with the company also forming the military patrol boats company Plascoa. 1998 the company sets its sights on the super yacht segment over eighty feet, with this resulting in buying the IMS shipyard in Toulon. In 2011 Couch is acquired by Nepteam. Today Couach Yachts offers ten models from eleven up to fifty meters, divided into a four range set up; Mediterranean, Sport, Lounge, and Custom Line.  Couach line up starts with the outboard powered center console sport boat Mediterranean 1100 S, up to the 5000 Custom Line flagship which has been delivered in two units. The new Couach website is available in French and English language, and has the following main tabs: The Shipyard, The Craft, The Yachts, Contact, and Media.

Project: Couach 1300 Mediterranean

The project of this new Couach Mediterranean line takes us back to 2012 when the French yacht builder who since the nineties has mostly concentrated its resources for yachts above fifteen meters presented the project of the 1300 S Hornet, a fast cabin center console which never materialized into production.  Now Couach returns to try its fortunes in the medium sizes with an entry level range called Mediterranean which will offers six models from eleven to nineteen meters, two of which S outboard units.  The Couach 1300 Mediterranean will be the entrance into the inboard powered units.  The Coucah 1300 Mediterranean will offer a lower deck fully dedicated to two spacious cabins, with living, galley and dining all located on the half hard top covered main deck. Power options are not yet announced but the design of the interior plans do show stern dive propulsion.

Project: Couach 3700 Sport

Couach present the project for a new 37-metre 3700 Sport super yacht.  This new project is a reimagined 37-metre superyacht, and replaces one of the company’s longstanding popular models, with six custom-built vessels having been delivered of the 3700 Yacht model.  Upholding the admired sporty and seaworthy DNA of its predecessor’s design and indeed the overarching design philosophy of all Couach custom yachts a new energy has been injected into the latest 3700 Sport through a lengthening of its lines and strengthening of its profile.  The 3700 Sport takes design cues from the world of luxury automobiles as well as contemporary architecture and naval design. It is available in a four or five-cabin arrangement, complemented by ample glazing to amplify the interior’s natural light. The large main saloon, incorporating lounging and dining areas, offers a fantastic feeling of space for a sport yacht, with accommodation for up to ten guests tended to by six crew.  The released renderings of the 3700 Sport’s interiors suggest an ethnic and light design theme, with a neutral palette of wood finishes, hand-crafted details and luxurious materials; these can be tailored to any buyer’s tastes.  The Couach design team focused on creating a yacht that offers a chic yet cozy ambiance for owner and guests. Suspended ceilings enhance the feeling of height in cabins, while the outstanding attention to detail will result in a refined yacht worthy of the highly respected Couach name.  The exterior offers a range of areas from which to soak up the ever-changing surroundings. As an addition from the earlier Couach 3700 Fly, sun pads have been added to the fore-deck to provide a new, private space for relaxation. The expansive duplex aft deck features a “bathing beach” fitted out with a shower, umbrella, diving board and swim ladder, just steps away from the multi-purpose cockpit with sun loungers and dining area. Space in the yacht’s tender garage allows for a five-meter tender for adventures ashore, as well as a jet-ski for fun on water.  The flybridge is, of course, one of the main areas for enjoyment for many yacht owners, and the 3700 Sport will not disappoint. having imagined a space similar to a contemporary beachfront villa, with expansive, panoramic views and all amenities easily at hand. There is an outdoor kitchen and grill, with areas for relaxing, dining and sunbathing, meaning it will no doubt be a hive of activity for anyone on-board. An ultra-modern Jacuzzi could be added to the flybridge layout, which is fully custom to a buyer’s personal preferences.  Paying tribute to Couach’s military ship building legacy, as with all Couach Yachts, the 3700 Sport maintains superb seaworthiness and capabilities in even the toughest conditions, as well as an impressive top speed of 28 knots and 24 at cruise followed by exceptional maneuverability.  The hull would be constructed in fiberglass for which Couach is best known, while her draft of 1.85 meters means she can venture into secluded shallow bays. Gyroscopic stabilizers ensure a calm and peaceful experience when at anchor or underway.  The new 3700 Sport model’s release follows a year of updates and evolution at Couach, including new in-house management and design appointments, collaborations with world-class yacht designers and a raft of newly developed models.

Project: Couach 26m Timeless Collection

Having invested millions of euros in its technical facilities and workshops in Arcachon, on the French Atlantic coast since 2015, Couach is poised to enter a new era in custom yacht construction. Couach has also made a number of strategic recruitment choices for both management and design departments, bringing new blood and inspiration to continue the legacy of the maritime company, which will be celebrating its 120th anniversary in 2017.  These changes are showing a fresh  direction at Couach with five ranges and a new series of models currently in the pipeline.  In this new range series is the Timeless collection designed by Espen Øino which will feature six fast flybridge yachts between twenty and forty meters, each representing the Couach expertise. The size range of the Timeless collection allows yacht owners to embrace the sweet spot between the luxury of a superyacht, through design features and on-board crew, while maintaining a closeness to the water that can be lost on larger vessels. The design of a 26m model in the Timeless range has been completed, while a further five models are expected to follow in the coming months.

New Model: Couach 4400 Fast Fly

French shipyard Couach Yachts has launched the latest super yacht the 4400 Fast Fly.  The Arcachon based yacht builder has released a number of images showing the completion of this fast planing, composite yacht. The 4400 Fast Fly has been rethought around the 5000 Fly delivered in two for year 2012 and 2014 respectively. Like the 5000 Fly, the new 4400 Fast Fly is fully customized and a unique project in itself. There has been particular attention to the interior details and craftsmanship of the 4400 Fast Fly with the yacht’s interior featuring a combination of exceptional materials including bronze, oak, treated leathers, engraved glass, engraved marble, Dacryl with copper inlay, and metallic resin. Many decorative elements were created specifically for the yacht, hand in hand with the client and the captain.  The owner of the yacht has a longstanding relationship with Couach Yachts. Worth to note that including this 4400 Fast Fly, that three-quarters of super yachts over forty meters that were delivered in France in the last five years have emerged from the Couach shipyard. Project: Couach 3800

It's big news at Couach who after some years in difficult waters now is back in full swing.  Now after the announced sale and currently in construction new 23 meter the French yacht and super yacht builder has released first details of a new concept from in-house designers Clément Carbonne and Diane Viboud, what is part of a fully revised product line. The inspiring new concepts is for an adventurous new 3800 model, a 38 meters super yacht explorer with a semi-displacement hull.  The Couach 3800 is also the largest super yacht design to come from the company’s own drafting table.  Couach choose to propose this super yacht with a semi displacement hull because boats are above all made for those who require made-to-measure services, absolute comfort and love navigation.

Guy Couach 1926 - 2014

Guy Couach, who founded the Couach shipyard in France in 1962 to manufacture boats in composite materials, died January 6, 2014. He was 88.  Couach was the grandson of Albert Couach, who founded Couach marine engines in 1897. Guy Couach joined the family business as a young man and was among the first people to consider the mass production of motorboats, with work he began in 1946. In 1962 he founded Guy Couach shipyard, which built boats in composite. One of his earliest developments was the Aramat, a yacht built in 1970 from a Kevlar-based material.  Several hundred high-performance yachts have followed in the decades since. Nepteam, a regional investment group, bought the Couach yard in 2011. The facility continues to turn out composite boats from 65 to 164 feet LOA, including patrol and rescue boats for navy and coast guard operations.

New Model: Couach 2600 Fly

Couach launched the 2600 FLY on the 24th of June on the Arcachon Bay. With this new model, the French shipyard re-enters the eighty feet sector also referred to as the entry level super yacht size since some time and broadens the scope of its catalogue that features thirteen models from 14 to 50 metres. The Couach 2600 Fly is designed to fill the gap in the range of 22 and 28 metre models, creating a perfect expression of what the shipyard does best: a compact, and functional yacht for enjoyable life on-board and sailing. With a new approach to on-board passenger circulation and space management, the 2600 FLY offers all the trademark features that have established Couach’s reputation: V-shaped planing hull, composite materials, speed, stability and agility, with shaft line propulsion. Couach in-house designer Franck Reynaud began this project with a blank page and has imagined a contemporary model consistent with today’s trends, in keeping with the brand’s distinctive lines that reflect its precision, commitment and marine qualities. Particular among the new features are the stylistic effects borrowed from the 50 metre yacht design; the bow layout, uncommon on a deep Vee shape hull; the flying bridge layout and the large sliding side doors that open the lounge onto the sea. To define the options for layout, always entirely customisable at Couach shipyard, the client drew on ideas from La Pellegrina, the 50 metre super yacht built in 2012. Ambitious choices that led the teams to make even better use of space and stretch every limit. The result is perfect and within its 26 metres and four cabins the 2600 Fly combines all the assets one would expect on a larger vessel. The 2600 Fly will be presented to the press and the public at the Cannes Boat Show in September 2013.

Project: Couach 2600 Fly

After presenting its much awaited flagship the 5000 Fly, Couach yachts from France has gone into an ambitious project set to renew all its line to a new generation design statement.  PowerYacht has already showed some of the project in this new important project Couach has taken.  This new Couach 2600 series which will also feature an Open version sister model, represent the French builders entry level super yacht.  Considering that Couach now offers super yacht up to fifty meters what this model presents will be very important for making clients growing up the ladder size with you.  The 2600 Fly will present a four double cabins traditional layout plan with a four double guest cabins, and the owners room to midships having a separate staircase entrance.  The living on the main deck will be a split level separating the entrance with saloon followed by dining, to the galley, pilot house plus a small dinette to Port side of the helm divided by two steps up.  Crew cabin is aft having two cabins, both with private shower heads.  Standard engines are twin MAN 1800hp with estimated max speed of of 31 knots.

Project: Couach 2300 Open

Based on the same hull lines of the 2300 Fly, Couach presents the Open version project of the same model.  Presented with a sportier line the Couach 2300 Open should also present differences to the Fly version in the lower deck and main deck plan.  In the projcet renderings for example the engine intakes are located more aft, and the large view windows to midships are also featured more to stern.  Still Couach is quoting a three double cabins, and a two crew room as the Fly version for the interior accommodation layout. The hardtop of the 2300 Open will be of a semi extended nature covering half a huge part of the cockpit deck, and of the aft sunpad.  As Couach has been doing since very long time the 2300 Open is built with the use of Kevlar and Carbon.  Power is twin MAN 1200 or MTU 1500hp engines with ZF pods propulsion.  Top speed is 34 knots, and a cruise of 24 gives a six hundred nautical miles range.

Project: Couach 2300 Fly

Since a long time I have been a big fan of Couach the French builder, and seeing them coming with some important projects is always good news.  The new 2300 Fly, is one of seven Couach projects which should be launched in the coming years which start from a thirteen meter sport cruiser, up to a 45 meter super yacht.  The 2300 Fly will be Couach entry level flybridge yacht, and will feature a four double cabins interior, plus two crew cabins.  Interesting in the 2300 Fly is the very sports sleek line, with a very aggressive profile.  Other details of the sports nature of this project are also to be found in the aft sun pad, and radar arch with hard top.  Tender space will be located in the garage, with the flybridge fully dedicated for entertainment on standard specification.  Power will be from twin MAN 1200hp with line shaft propulsion, giving a top speed of 32 knots and a cruise of 22.

New Model: Couach 2300 Fly

Couach finally launches its entry level model the 2300 Fly.  The new smallest model of the Couach yachts was outlined in early 2008, and then this model suffered a two year delay as the Guyan-Mesas located builder was being taken over by new management.  This new Couach motor yacht continues what has been a symbol of this yard offering Mediterranean style design and amenities with a very sea worthy hull, which comes from the navy and military experience of this French builder.  As has been offered by Couach in a couple decades, the 2300 Fly is also built with Kevlar glass, making for a light 39 tons empty displacement, and a strength hard to find in similar builds.  But apart being sea worthy and strong the Couach 2300 Fly also offers a lot of comfort on all the three decks; flybridge, main, and below cabin area.  The flybridge is also that bit extra spacious, thanks to the transfer of the tender on the bathing platform.  Main saloon is a two steps split level area, with the entrance being located on the lower part offering the lounging area, with galley, dining table, and helm station located to forward.  The saloon also offers a lot of easy movement to outside not only from the aft patio door but thanks to three side doors located in three strategic key areas; galley, by the internal staircase, and next to the pilot station.  Below is a four double cabins plan with three heads, this giving the today standard of an owners suite to mid ship, VIP cabin to fore, and two double guest rooms in between.  A crew cabin with two berths and shower head is located to fore. The Couach 2300 Fly is powered by standard MAN 1360hp, or optional MTU 1523hp engines with this last choice giving a top speed of 34 knots.

Project: Couach 2300 Fly

On the heels of the 2200 Fly success, of which 40 have been built, Couach Shipyard set on updating this successful model. The objective was to modernise her exterior lines while preserving the seagoing qualities of this vessel originally designed for demanding owners, eager to set sail on their own on board a fast large yacht. Comfort and safety on board remain unrivalled, and without yielding to marine qualities that has made his predecessor famous the 2300 Fly, which first example will be launched at the beginning of 2009, will feature lighter and airier exterior and interior layouts: an extended fly that can receive a hard top, sideways enlarged making easier movement on deck, an elegant high bulwark echoing larger models of the range, redesigned portholes and windows being enlarged to bring more natural light and a bow shaped to a point that slimes down her line and position her definitively in the Yacht category. The comfortable and luxurious 4-cabin version is fully costumed as far as the decoration and materials are concerned, leaving the owner imagination to decorate his yacht. The main cabin has also been redesigned and enlarged giving a greater comfort feeling. As ever, equipment on board is top quality and compliant with Yachting standard for maximum comfort and safety. With her twin MTU 1500hp, or MAN 1300hp this new 2300 Fly benefits from a remarkable seaworthiness at any speed and perfect passage at sea thanks to her high performance deep Vee shaped hull. Faithful to her predecessor reputation she offers a cruising speed of about 30 knots and a max speed of 36 with the big engine option.

Project: Couach 5000 Fly

The project of the new Couach 5000 Fly represents the biggest Yacht to be ever built by the prestigious French builder. With a lot of important ideas which will capture exclusive clients in this very competitive market segment, Couach is promising an innovative Super Yacht which stands out for it's 30 knots top speed performance, something very rare in a 50 metre Motor Yacht but of most importance this performance does not effect the range with a capability of Trans-Atlantis crossing in 10 days. Constructed in strong Kevlar resins the new 5000 Fly as all Couach Yachts is a fully custom project. Other important design notes for the new French builder flagship are the superior private upper deck arrangement and the garage which when opened becomes a really live beach front. Interior accommodation is for 5 or a 6 cabins layout.
