New Model: Casa 38 T-Top

Delivered in the last week of July 2018 Casa 38 T-Top build journey was fully followed by PowerYacht in the Inbuild series.  The 38 T-Top shows the custom, tailor made to owner prowess of Cantieri Casa from Gaeta Italy who responded to a client who wanted a T-Top sport cruiser of medium dimensions with a lot of space outside, and a comfortable interior.  The result was a collaboration with designer Pier Luigi Mimmocchi, who designed the new T-Top profile.  The Casa 38 was first born as a Hardtop sport cruiser and an Open project was later offered.  The 38 T-Top is the third version of this twelve meter sport cruiser platform from Casa. The Casa 38 offers an interior lower deck with two owner choices for a two cabins two heads, or a two cabin one head with a more spacious settee and living area layouts.  Power for the Casa 38 T-Top is from twin Volvo 300hp engines reaching top speeds up to 38 knots.

INBUILD ~ Casa 38 T-Top Part 5 of 5

The Casa 38 T-Top is nearing completion and in the above photo we are seeing a very close image to what will be the final product.  An indeed great sport cruiser even with some important details not yet fitted.  But the windshield is fitted, engines installed, and passarelle also.  In the above picture the Casa 38 T-Top construction status is all about refining the details which will make it from good to a fantastic, and special for its owner considering the custom detailing that went into the build.  With most details refined and cleared the Casa 38 T-Top will go for its first sea trials, and then again it will return for the fitment of the T-Top, after which hand over to a proud owner, who had the opportunity to follow and customize the construction from start to finish will be given.  An unusual story for an eleven meter sport cruiser, with most builds in this size being a start to finish standard production build with very little to decide for the owner in design both outside and inside.

INBUILD ~ Casa 38 T-Top Part 4 of 5

The building journey of the Casa 38 T-Top continues, with the build of this fully made to order and to a customers request unit now coming into its final details.  In the above picture we are seeing the finishing touches of the Casa 38 T-Top forward master cabin with the twelve volts cabling and air ducts being completed.  Unlike most modern center console interiors who are for the most part finished in fiberglass with a little bit woods added to cabins and cabinet doors, the owner of the Casa 38 T-Top decided to go for a conservative interior fully filled with the warmth of wood and light colored white leather details.

The build of the Casa 38 T-Top continues!  After completing the forward and rear bulkheads installation it continues on the same theme, and now the team of Cantieri Casa start by adding the bulkheads which will form the interior cabin layout.  The Casa 38 is available in two different versions that for a two cabin single head, or a two shower head layouts, with this last having a smaller saloon and galley.  By the photos shown above it looks like the 38 T-Top will have a single head two cabins layout.

INBIULD ~ Casa 38 T-Top Part 2 of 5

Casa continue the construction for this fully custom order and build 38 T-Top model, which now starts its second phase of construction that of interior layout placement.  In this part two of this series for the Casa 38 T-Top we are showing the placement of the two bulkheads categorizing two important elements. At forward we have the anchor locker front collision bulkhead placement, and the aft bulkhead represents the engine room.  In between these two bulkheads is all reserved to the interior lower deck accommodation of the 38 T-Top.  More news in the next part of this Inbuild series for the Casa 38 T-Top.

INBUILD ~ Casa 38 T-Top Part 1 of 5

In January 2018 Casa started the construction phase for another version of its popular 38 model, the T-Top variant.  Designed by Pier Luigi Mimmocchi the Casa 38 T-Top will also feature vs the Hard Top version renewed hull side lines, thanks to the addition of new extended windows.  In this new Casa 38 version the Gaeta boat builder shows its custom versatility, with the particulars of this build requested by a client.  Casa responded immediately to the request by putting its technical studio and designer Mimmocchi at work for the building of this made to measure build.  In this Inbuild part one picture story we are seeing the 38 Casa T-Top being removed from the mold and a continuation of the first construction phase, which involves the outer shell and interior structure of the build.

Project: Casa 38 T-Top

Casa shows its full custom attributes with the project of a new currently in construction 38 T-Top.  Third version of the 38, the T-Top is the most modern looker of the Casa entry level model which is also available in Open and HT versions.  A project of Pier Luigi Mimmocchi the 38 T-Top offers lower deck accommodation for two cabins and two heads, or a two cabins single head layout choice.  The single head version offers a more spacious galley and saloon.  The standard exterior deck of the Casa 38 T-Top offers the traditional Mediterranean layout for an aft sun-pad, C-shaped dinette, with helm station and wet-bar to starboard.  As is standard at Casa, other custom layouts are available for the exterior. Power for the Casa 38 T-Top comes from twin Volvo 300hp with stern drive propulsion which give max speeds up to 38 knots.   The T-Top, hull number three of the Casa 38 entry level sport cruiser is currently in construction at Gaeta, Italy with a planned delivery for Spring 2018.

New Model: Casa 38 HT

It's been a long time coming for this project to arrive into reality but the new Casa entry level model, the 38 is finally here.  The new Casa 38 HT reduces the South of Rome, Gaeta located builder entry size by ten feet.  The 38 HT is also an entry level model which is suit to purpose and can be as for Italian law, registered under the ten meters legislation as a small boat craft. The Casa 38 HT number one had an interesting red hull color, which outlines more the classic influence of the design as the long fore deck and a nice level free board. Not to high nor low! The interior of the 38 Casa is available in two cabin variants; with the option of having a larger galley to starboard and a more spacious L-shaped settee to port, but this coming at the expense of losing the second shower head.  The exterior deck follows the usual Italian ideology of an aft sun-pad and C-shaped dinette to port, and helm station with wet bar behind to starboard.  Power will come from twin 300hp Volvo engines with stern drive propulsion which should give top speeds of around 38 knots in light medium load conditions.

Improve-it = Casa 54 HT

Paying attention to market demands and modifying a current model to suit more to the client needs has always been a good way for a boat builder to move forward.  This is what Casa from the South part of Rome, in Italy did with its current 54 HT flagship model by presenting the new cockpit layout.  This alternative versions replaces the sun pad with an L-shaped settee on the aft deck of the 54 HT, making the area a lounging place.  The Casa 54 HT is a three cabin hard top sport yacht and also offer two version choice for its internal layout plan with a galley up or below choice.  With the galley below choice the third cabin moves more forward becoming a bunk berth layout but still offering a third head, this being smaller then to that of the standard plan.  Power for the Casa 54 is Man 900 or 1100hp engines with line shaft propulsion as standard, or optional surface drives being available.

Project: Casa 70 SportFly

Casa presents the 70 SportFly, a further development of its 68 and previously 64 projects.  None of these models have so far been launched and the 54 HT remains the largest Casa build.  Apart the extension in length this new Casa will also feature a small upper helm as it is becoming more fashion with sport yachts in around the twenty more or more of size.  The Casa 70 SportFly also redesigns the interior now featuring a four double cabin layout with a full beam owners stateroom. All guest rooms will feature a private head, even in the fourth smallest bunk cabin to port.  A crew lobby alongside the galley is located to midships in between the engine room located aft, and the owners midships stateroom.  Power is from twin MAN engines 1400hp or optional 1550hp with Arneson surface drives propulsion.  Top speeds of 53 knots are estimated with the larger engines units and the surface drive propulsion set up.

Project: Casa 38 HT

Starting up with a 54, and 46 feet models, Casa now looks to a smaller 38 model, and after presenting the Open version project now shows the 38 HT.  A model which represents more the philosophy of the central Italy, South of Rome located boat builder, who so far has always built hard top cruisers and yachts.  The 38 HT copies in all but the hard top the open version, with the well laid interior appearing again.  This making the best use of the spaces offered, presenting itself with two cabins, two shower heads, galley, and an L-shaped saloon.  The aft deck is all for the sun lovers, with sun pad to aft, and C-shaped settee in front, with the helm, and wet bar located opposite to starboard.  Casa seems also resolute on plans to show a well laid engine room with easy to reach secondary items.  Power is from twin Volvo 300hp with estimated speeds being a max of 38 knots.

Project: Casa 38

After always going bigger size in recent years family run builder Casa presents the project for a 38 entry level model.  As the above rendering shows this new model is a fully open style sport cruiser and does not go for a hard top as the bigger Casa model's.  Coming from Rome this is no surprise where fully open boats even without radar arch are always very much appreciated in these dimensions, but also in bigger sizes.  The Casa in fact goes in direct competition with builders like Tornado, Marine Yachting, and Italcraft Sarima all coming from the where abouts of the Italian capital city, and all actualy having a fame of being sea worthy craft. Interesting for me are also the exterior hull lines of the Casa project which reminds me a bit of the nineties produced Italcraft F38.  The Casa 38 looks sleek but this on plan sets also to be a very comfortable sport cruiser.  The cockpit offers an aft sun pad layout with a C-shaped settee, helm station, and wet bar cabinet behind it.  Inside is a two cabin plan, L-shaped settee, galley, and two heads.  One of these being en-suite for the owners room located to fore.  Power is from twin Volvo 330hp stern drives which should give a top speed of 40 knots.

Project: Casa 68 HT

The Casa 68 HT is a further expansion in size of the 64 HT project presented in early 2008. For it the South of Rome boat builder expanded all areas resulting in more comfort features in the now only four cabins 68 HT plan. There is also other noticeable differences outside like big large view windows in the fore cabin, and a larger glassed hard top. For a Sport Yacht above twenty metres the Casa 68 HT will be a unique example for offering four cabins plus a separate crew cabin with galley and lobby to mid ship aft. All four cabins of the 68 HT will have there own en-suite shower head. Power will be from twin MAN 1360hp, or optional 1550hp engines with Arneson surface drives propulsion. The big MAN engine choice should deliver estimated top speeds of 53 knots.

Project: Casa 64 HT

Cantiere Navali Casa is a young Italian builder located at the South of Rome and producing hard top open yachts of high quality, comfortable accommodation and top rated performance. Casa presents this very important project of there new 64 Hard Top, which will be the largest model produced to date, trying to follow on the success enjoyed with the 54 and 46 models. Measuring an overall length of 20 metres, the new Casa will have a versatile interior offering 2 different layout options. The 64 optional layout will be quite unique in it's competing size range, offering 4 guest cabins, without sacrificing any heads as also this version features 3 head similar in size to the 3 cabin version. Galley and crew cabin in the new 64 are located in a separate area mid-ships making for the best in privacy an owner would desire. Performance is an estimated top speed of 53 knots with a steady cruising of 46 knots and a range of approx 300 nautical miles, all this powered by latest generation twin MAN 1550hp Common Rail engines propelled with Arneson Drives transmission. The project for the new Casa 64 HT is a very interesting new entry in this highly competitively sized fast sport yachts segment, but I am sure with its innovative spacious 4 cabin interior it will give a good run to all the other renowned players.
