New Model: Camper & Nicholsons 50 Velsheda

What a beautiful boat, that is in few words what this picture say of the new Camper and Nicholsons 50 Velsheda. Owned by Leonardo Ferragamo since a few years, Camper and Nicholsons became the power boating arm of Nautor Holdings group who also owns one of the most appreciated production sail boat brands; Nautor Swan since the late nineties. With 50 Velsheda, Camper and Nicholsons follow what was presented with the 42 Endevour in a bigger yacht size dimension. In reality the Velsheda tells you instantly she is the larger sister of the Endeavour, and as  the 42 feet model does take hints from a down east lobster boat design mixed that of a classic fast commuter for its looks, creating a unique design. The 50 Velsheda cockpit deck will impress for its spaces; central sun-pad, two L-shape aft looking small mezzanine style settees, C-shape dinette, L-shaped galley, and a helm station to starboard is what the main deck offers. Below the Velsheda offers two cabins with an owners room to fore, and a nice L-shaped lounger.  A single berth crew cabin is located amidships starboard. Power is twin Cats 669 or 715hp with line shafts giving top speeds up to 33 knots in light load.

Project: Camper & Nicholsons 42 Filante

Since a few years now owned by Italian Ferragamo, Camper and Nicholsons Yachting, the building side of the famous brand prepares to re-enter the long range super yacht sizes with the 42 Filante. A project of Horazio Bozzo, and architect Michele Bonan for the interior, the three deck 42 Filante super yacht is to be build in a steel hull with an aluminium super-structure. The interior of the 42 Filante will present four guest cabins plus an owners room on the main deck.  Other impressive details for a yacht measuring 42 meters will be the tender space for four units; two 17 feet Castoldi jet tenders, water scooter, and a rescue tender.  The 42 Filante will be powered by twin 599hp Cat engines.  Estimated max speeds are of 13 knots, while its cruise should be 10 knots which should give a range of 4200 nautical miles.

Web: Camper and Nicholsons New Web Site

Camper and Nicholsons Yachting presents its new World wide web showroom.  Camper and Nicholsons commenced in 1782 building in its long history some legendary yachts as the Shamrock J-class series built for Sir Thomas Lipton to compete in the Americas cup.  Other notable builds are the Endeavour, and Velsheda, and lastly the super yacht Philante which at 1629 tons remains the largest pleasure craft ever build in Britain.  In 2001 Camper and Nicholsons Yachting arm was bought by Sergio Ferragamo also owner of Nautor Swan.  He restarted production building a series of classic looking express boats.  At first the production from 2004 till 2005 was made in the legendary Gosport Britain facility but in December 2005 this was closed and building moved to the Nautor shipyard in Scandinavia, Finland.   Today Camper and Nicholsons Yachting offers a total of five models from the 42 Endeavour, to the still in project 42 Filante which will be built in Steel and Aluminium.  Camper and Nicholsons new website takes you around with the following buttons; Company, Commuters, All Seas, and Contacts.

Project: Camper and Nicholsons 80 Gelyce

Seems the Italian ownership of this brand Leonardo Ferragamo is presenting some interesting projects with a full line of down East inspired sports cruisers and yachts, and now also an important super yacht offered in design.  The 80 Gelyce presented here is the largest of the down east line and stands at the entrance to be called a super yacht. The names Gelyce here respects the philosophy of a power-boat, since these where in actual fact fast commuters who served the J-class competing in the Americas Cup in the nineteen thirties. The 80 Gelyce is mostly a project looking towards outside spaces, with also an interesting concept for the flash fore deck featuring a nice louging area which does not disturb the lines.  Below is space for three double cabins, including a full beam owners stateroom.  To fore is the galley, a large C-shaped dinette, and two double crew cabins.  Power is a standard more long range package of twin MAN 1000hp which gives a 22 knots cruise.  A fast option of twin 1622hp Cat engines raises max speed to 33 knots.

Project: Camper & Nicholsons 60 Shamrock

Sometimes one can say a lot from what a boat model wants to represent by a builder from its name.  With the 60 Shamrock, Camper and Nicholsons Italian build line of traditional lobster cruisers and yachts is surely looking to customers with an admiration to the past.  For those who do not know Shamrock was Sir Thomas Lipton Americas cup challenge for a few decades 1899 till 1930, with five different Shamrock's being build and competing in the Worlds oldest sports challenge.  The Camper and Nicholsons 60 Shamrock presents itself as a three cabin traditional yacht with sport lines but yet still classic.  The main deck is a split level area and features a galley and two dinettes.  The aft deck features two L-shaped settee's looking to aft. Standard power is twin 1000hp Cat engines with estimated top speeds of 33 knots.

Project: Camper & Nicholsons 50 Velsheda

A continuation of the Camper and Nicholsons line as launched by Nautor Group who acquired this brand in 2001 this is in short words the 50 Velsheda.  This new Camper and Nicholsons is again a design of Raymond Hunt associates with the 50 Velsheda following on the footsteps of the 42 Endeavour who was greeted in the market with huge success.  Having modern classic looks, the 50 Velsheda is a timeless looking sport yacht with some down East lobster picnic boats element touches which join traditional with practicality.  Its main deck is offered in two layouts, open loft version or sun pad plan.  Down below accommodation offers three double cabins, with a crew cabin.  The owners cabin is located to fore, with double guest to port side, and bunk third room to starboard.  Power is twin Cat 715hp engines which should give max speeds of 38 knots, and a cruise of 32.  An IPS version is also on the works.
