Project: CNM 33 Continental

CNM acronym for Cantieri Navali Meditterreaneo from Rome presents a new entry level project model the 33 Continental.  This new small CNM builds on the features of previous Continental models as the 50 and 43 with the opening side bulkheads being a main characteristic. In the 33 Continental the opening side bulk heads apart of being a terrace also are the bathing platform of the boat.  I am not so sure of this idea, replacing the stern platfrom though for practical reasons.  How about when one is moored with other boats to the sides?  Anyways the 33 Continental is still in design and hopefully a choice of aft bathing platform will be available.  The 33 Continental also offers a small cabin inside with a double Vee berth and a shower head.  The dining area is in the centre of the cockpit deck which thanks to the turning of the helm and co-pilot seat can making a table for four persons.  Power to a very performance orientated two step deep Vee hull shape is twin gas petrol Mercruisers 265 or 350hp engines with stern drive propulsion.  Top speeds estimated are 58 knots with the big Mercruiser choice.

New Model: CNM 43 Continental

CNM acronym for Cantieri Navali Mediterraneo from Rome Italy is a young builder who has been on my radar ever since they launched the innovative 50 Continental model with its opening sides in 2009.  Now four years after this debut CNM presents the 43 Continental its current entry level model, soon to be replaced by a smaller 33.  The CNM 43 Continental as the bigger 50 shows its attention to large all deck use spaces with big sun loungers; two aft and one to fore being a huge part of its wow factor along with the side opening bulk heads.  The forward sun pad also converts to a large U-shade table and as the picture above shows can be also covered in its special tent for nice al fresco dining.  A central console which can also be covered by a hard top offers a three person settee helm station, and a back mezzanine bench completing the exterior layout.  Down below is a twin cabin with well sized bathroom, and a small galley to starboard.  Power options are three engine choices from Cummins 380 up MAN 800hp, with shafts or surface drives propulsion.

Project: CNM 43 Continental

It's been a few years since Cantieri Navali dell' Mediterraneo launched a new model, but now this young Italian Rome builder comes with the interesting 43 Continental set to be shown for the first time in Cannes.  As usual the central Italy Rome area shows its innovative drive, and CNM with its modular interiors, and opening side decks to extend space outside has been a very interesting builder to watch in the past final part of the first decade of the new millennium.  The CNM 43 Continental will be the new entry level for this builder, and again traits from the bigger models are all to see here; from the side opening bulkheads to full use of the deck from fore to aft as the Tender version of the 50.  Inside surprisingly the 43 Continental will sleep four persons in a cabin and a convertible dinette.  Considering the space outside that is not bad at all. The 43 Continental as the bigger sisters is also offered with various custom options from a hard top to a different layout of the exterior. Standard power is from twin Yanmar 480hp diesel engines which can give 42 knots max with line shafts, and 48 knots with the Arneson Surface drives option.  But again as the bigger CNM I do accept to see a big variety in engine, propulsion choices available for the 43 Continental.

Project: CNM 100 Continental Super Maxi Tender

Another innovative project from CNM i.e Cantieri Navali dell Mediterraneo in Rome with the 100 Continental Super Maxi Tender. This new project follows similar classic lines as seen on the 50 presented in 2008, with its innovations as opening sides which translates to a total of three bathing platforms. Surely a unique area not found in any yacht of this size is the fully entertainment dedicated main deck with numerous seating areas totaling six dinettes, and two sun loungers aft. The interior of hull one which should be launched this year will have a three cabin layout. The owners cabin is to fore with a unique details as the fully opening large side windows, or the forward jacuzzi bath which opens up to the fore peak of the main deck. Two further twin cabins both with en suite head, a VIP to starboard, and double to port completes the guest accommodation. Below is also space for a galley and a day head. Crew quarters located to midship aft offer four berths in one area with two heads. Power for the 100 Continental Super Maxi Tender will be from twin 2450hp MTU with surface drives which should give a 45 knots top speed. The model will also be available with jet propulsion. This is a very unique project and is also a big challenge to the other pure large opens, although Mediterraneo should remove the Tender from the model designation name, as I am sure that at one hundred feet this cannot be considered an utility boat to anything.

New Model: CNM 50 Continental Tender

As if the 50 Continental was not innovative enough, thanks to its transformable interiors, this Italian yard comes with the Tender version for the same model, aimed at giving unlimited outside space with a loft style interior. The project for the Tender version of the 50 Continental was announced just a bit later to the standard version, and Cantieri Mediterraneo have to be praised for producing big opens with a very different concept from what the major competition is doing. If you are looking for a big day boat with weekend accommodation for 2 there is not much going more then this. 50 Continental Tender, as the standard sister also scores a lot of points for the big offer in propulsion going from latest IPS, to high performance Arneson Surface Drives or to super handling water Jet propulsion.

New Model: CNM 50 Continental

A young yard from Rome, Italy which presented itself in the market with an eighty footer a couple years back, presents an innovative 16 meters sport yacht with a very modern concept, the new CNM 50 Continental. This new model from Cantieri Navali Dell' Mediterraneo has all the power, looks and comfort that you could ever want but above all it really presents a host of modern unseen concepts. The 50 Continental expresses a notably innovative concept of space thanks to an entirely flexible internal configuration. You can have from one to three cabins in just 15 minutes without requiring special manpower. There is a host of innovative technological solutions also outside in the cockpit which provides maximum unseen comfort, like the stern sun loungers that can be stowed in the large after peak, the galley with kitchen and wash basin hidden under the helm's folding seat, sun area united to side corridors facilitating deck movements, and very important but eye catching too the hydraulically opened double broadside platform increasing available space to the water. The inside space on the 50 Continental can also be modified as your needs, thanks to an innovative Modular System, exclusive idea of the Mediterraneo shipyard, permitting to transform the interior layout, to suit your needs. In fact moving the special panels, one can pass from a single loft style interior to a comfortable three cabin sport yacht and back in very little time. Thanks to this special modular layout it is possible to have: an owners cabin with two saloon settees, an owners cabin plus two guest cabins, and last is an owners cabin with a guest cabin plus a saloon with settee.
