Bruno Abbate Primatist New Web Site

Bruno Abbate Primatist presents its new World wide web showroom.  Bruno Abbate Primatist was officially founded in 1977 but the builder is a continuation of what was started by Giuseppe Abbate in 1873 on Lake Como, and never stopped since then by the family.  The founding of Bruno Abbate in 1977 also marked the switch to fiberglass for the Como family boat builder.  The first Primatist was the 23, and became instantly a big success with a total production for this model of over 750 units sold in a decade plus of production. In 1995 the G range was created with the launch of the G25 followed by the G29 and G33 on the same year. The G range is a success with its best selling model being the G41 launched in 2002 and sold over one hundred units.  Abbate always means racing since and after World War Two with Alfieri engineering and Giovanardi technician introducing Pamblo the first surface drive mono hull in 1947.  Bruno Abbate continues the racing tradition by competing and winning with the Pinot Gancia dei Gancia the Class One European Championship in 1987, and by breaking records in the one kilometer launch with a Maserati powered boat and a speed of 216.7 km/h in 1996.  Since founding Bruno Abbate Primatist new construction yards have been added, first in 1982 at Grandola e Uniti in Como and then in 2008 with the Arbatax facility in Sardinia. Another important step for the Bruno Abbate Primatist was the agreement with Poalo Pinifarina in 2004.  The first boat to be created from this is the current ever largest sport yacht build by Bruno Abbate the G70 Pininfarina, which is followed by the top selling G46 launched in 2007 and three other models after that.  Today Bruno Abbate Primatist is managed by his son Marco and presents a range of four models; B 41 Pininfarina, G 46 Pininfarina, G 53 Pininfarina, and B 62 Pininfarina.  Bruno Abbate Primatist new website takes you around with the following buttons; Story, Models, Service and Contacts.  Bruno Abbate Primatist is also present on social media Facebook platform with a link located at the bottom of the page.

New Model: Bruno Abbate Primatist B62 Aerotop Pininfarina

It's been a much long wait for the new second in size model of the Bruno Abbate Primatist family, the B62 Aerotop Pininfarina.  Finally launched the B62 completes the today all in the water five model Pininfarina designed family which starts with the recently launched B41, and goes up to the G70 the start up for the collaboration with the known design firm and the Italian Como boat builder in 2005.  As all the Aerotop Pininfarina I think the B62 brings a breath of fresh air in design terms to the industry versus the competition, from the look of the super structure to some unedited layouts which we have seen in other models of the range as the Special Edition option of the open aft deck shown for the first time on a custom orange colored G46, and since then also developed for another G53, and now shown on hull one of this latest Primatist. Inside the Bruno Abbate Primatist B62 is offered in a standard three cabins versions all with personal shower head; full beam owners stateroom, VIP suite to forward, and double guest cabin to starboard.  Below is also a separate galley located to port side, although in four cabins version I imagine this to be replaced by same and kitchen moved on the main deck.  Relaxing lounge is on the main deck a large L-shaped settee behind the very nice two seat helm, and entertainment area opposite. A crew cabin for one person is located to midships between the owners and engine room.  Power for hull one is from twin Volvo 900hp with IPS1200 pods which should give top speeds in the region of 35 knots.

New Model: Bruno Abbate Primatist B41 Aerotop Pininfarina

After showing a spy shoot of the first prototype in its initial sea trials at the end of last year, Bruno Abbate Primatist ship yard finishes it's first new B41 Aerotop Pininfarina.  Based on the hull lines of the best seller that was the G41, this new B41 completes Bruno Abbate's circle which now features all its five cruisers and yachts models designed by the famous Pininfarina firm.  This choice has been one of success from Bruno Abbate, especially seeing the feedback and orders the company received for the G46.  The B41 builds on some features seen on the G41, although a lot of improvements are seen.  For example the galley is among the most spacious in this size, especially when one notes that the G41 Primstist Aerotop Pininfarina has a spacious full beam midships located cabin.  Same goes for the lower deck located L-shaped saloon which is opposite to the galley, which although not super in size seems to offer good comfort.  To fore is also a VIP suite or owners room, if one prefers this cabin then to the midships with its three berths layout.  Power is Volvo engines from 330 up to 400hp with stern drive propulsion.  Hull one featured the new super powerful 400hp engines giving a top speed of 37 knots.

Project: Bruno Abbate B41 Primatist Aerotop Pininfarina

Spy photo of a prototype or rendering?  I will let your imagination decide this.  But the Bruno Abbate B41 Primatist Aerotop Pininfarina is the replacement model to one of the recent best sellers of the Como boat builder the G41 Aerotop Evolution in production from 2002 till the early part of this year 2011.  The B41 Primatist Aerotop Prininfarina is again a design of the famous Italian firm, renowned for legendary automobiles and also some yachts.  With this project Bruno Abbate now unites all its model under the Pininfarina design a collaboration which started with the current flagship G70, and continued with the G46, G53, and recently presented B62.  Power will be a three engine choice from Volvo starting at 330 up to 400hp all stern drive propulsion.  A top speed of 40 knots is estimated with the large twin 400hp option.

Improve-it = Bruno Abbate Primatist G46 Aerotop Pininfarina

Bruno Abbate Primatist keeps updating and improving its models, in order to win customers attention to its Sport Cruiser and Yachts. The Italian lake Como based builder is always researching to constantly propose, innovate, change, and improve in order to keep its market leadership. Now Bruno Abbate looks deeper into one of its best selling models, the G46 Aerotop Pininfarina, which went to the Genoa show with some important changes to its lower deck. This updated improved version titled Cruise Edition for the Pininfarina designed G46 which was launched during the same event in October 2006 now is offered with a new lower deck plan featuring a large L-shaped galley below. The new well sized Cruise Edition galley takes the place of the saloon settee to starboard side of the original version, which in the original version transforms itself into a fully private third double bunk cabin thanks to hiding slide doors in little time. This new Cruise Edition version makes it ideally suited for customers who cruise more personally, needing less berths, and want to use more the boat, and desiring a full gourmet style galley able to make any chef happy.

Project: Bruno Abbate Primatist B62 Aerotop Pininfarina

Bruno Abbate Primstist continues the collaboration with Pininfarina presenting more detailed renderings for the fourth model to be designed by the famous Italian firm for the renowned Italian builder. Announced a couple of months back first as the G62, the B62 Aerotop Pininfarina project is an important step for the Lake Como company, and will be its second bigger model after the G70, this last also being the first to be styled by Pininfarina. By these renderings alone I would say this will look bigger to the G70 and offer also a different space environment with a fully enclosed main deck hard top. The B62 seems also to be having fuller rounded upper bow sections, something introduced by another Italian firm in 2004 and why it looked trendy at the time this solutions seems to be more used by more builders the more time passes. Now it will be curious to see how this looks on the Primatist aggressive bow! Another interesting detail is also the windscreen which will go as far as the forward part of the deck, this area forming part of the lower accommodation deck and I am led to be believed to be also glassed, which if it is so will let natural light to flow in the cabins.

New Model: Bruno Abbate Primatist G53 Aerotop Pininfarina

Presented during the Genoa Show last week, is the Bruno Abbate Primatist G53 Aerotop Pininfarina, latest and much expected model from the Como builder. Born as the recent models with the collaboration of renowned design house Pininfarina, the new G53 represents another important step being completely produced in the new modern Bruno Abbate production yard located in Arbatax, Sardinia. G53 positions itself between the flagship G70 and top selling model G46, of which it also takes similar exterior line characteristics which make it surely seen as a Primatist Pininfarina yacht. Exterior lines is not only the identification of the new G53, with other technical characteristics being a recognition of latest Primatist Pininfarina models like the Aerotop hardtop with electric hydraulic opening, deep side decks which allow for safe passing from aft to fore, and galley on the main deck under the hardtop allowing for maximum cabin space in the lower deck. The standard interior lower deck layout offers 3 cabins, 3 heads, a saloon and a crew cabin with head, all finished in top class refined materials. A notable appreciated feature is the scissor double berth in the VIP cabin forward, transforming from a double to twin single berths, a very appreciated solution. Speed for the G53 is a respectable 38 knots max, achievable with 2 x 800hp diesel engines with conventional shafts. The new G53 Aerotop Pininfarina represents an important step in the upgrading of the Italian builder, locating it on the top list for owners looking for a modern hard top Sport Yacht of 16 metres in length.

Bruno Abbate 1951 - 2008

PowerYacht gives the blessings to World renowned boat builder Bruno Abbate who yesterday 16th July in a Milan hospital left us for the better World. Bruno Abbate 57 year old was son of Guido Abbate a renowned wooden boat builder from lake Como Italy. The Abbate boat building tradition goes back to 1873 when Giuseppe Abbate, grand father to Bruno started building fishing and carrier boats on Lake Como. In 1930 Guido Abbate, the father of Bruno mounted the first engine on a flat bottom boat, which started the Abbate fame for fast boats. Bruno Abbate founded his own yard in 1978, which started the change in the family to fiberglass construction. In 1987 with the CUV Primatist powered with triple Isotta Fraschini of 900 hp each, Bruno won the European Class 1 Championship, along with this the mono hull carried on winning the Italian and Mediterranean titles for the same year.

Boat Review: Bruno Abbate Primatist G46 Aerotop Pininfarina

Presentation
Presented last Summer during the Bruno Abbate Summer event The Primatist trophy, the new G46 is the offer for the mid size market from this famous builder coming out of Lake Como, Italy. After the G70 Aerotop Pininfarina, the Turin design house continues the work with the new high end G Aerotop line for Bruno Abbate. With the G46, Pininfarina continues the trend shown on the larger sister, reinterpreting the idea for a 46 feet sports cruiser with hardtop in an elegant and streamline design, calling speed and performance with class.
Accommodation
This has to be one of the best offers in a fourteen metre sports cruiser for what is interior accommodation. She offers comfortable accommodation for six in three separate cabins, in what has to be one of the most smart, intelligent and alternative layouts in the hard top sports cruiser category today. The layout is spacious and intelligent, featuring a full beam mid ship master cabin complete with en-suite head, a VIP guest cabin forward and a very intelligent third cabin with 2 bunk beds. This wise third cabin if desired can be converted to a part of the saloon, thanks to a large sliding door and convertible settee adjustment. Calling it genius is the least you can do here. Galley which is the weak point of the G46 is located outside in the cockpit and is of adequate dimensions.
Performance
The hull of the G 46 is a variable geometry deep V-hull with a 50 degrees angle forward and closing at 22 degrees aft. Top speed as declared by the manufacture is 36 knots with the 2 x 435hp Volvo IPS600 at 3500 rpm. Cruising is 31 knots at 3200 rpm and economical cruising is 26 knots at 3000 rpm. Range is over 9 hours with economical cruising speed. She is also one of the few boat's today to have been fully constructed and projected around the IPS system. While many boats are using this efficient propulsion system, there are very few hulls projected around this concept.
Positive
Interior layout

Negative

Competition
Many offers in the 13-14 metres hardtop sports cruisers. If you include all hardtop coupe models available you will have a list of about 20 marques, seeing the growing trend and demand for this type of craft in this size. Start adding the plus of the G46, 3 cabins and IPS drive system and the list is reduced for 2 other boats only, and surprising both from Italy and from the Lake Como area as Bruno Abbate. Talk about liking the hard top design, innovative propulsion system and plenty of berths inside.
The Airon Marine 4300 T-Top and Blu Martin 1390 Seatop are as close the competition can get with the G46. Both these models are available with the Volvo IPS, but can also be fitted in alternative with stern drives or shaft driven propulsion, unlike the G46 which is only offered with Volvo's Inboard Propulsion System. They also have the option of a two or a three cabin interior layout, but this in the G46 is standard thanks to a very smart third cabin.
Conclusion
Bruno Abbate Primatist G 46 Aerotop Pininfarina is a step ahead of the competition. She is one of the few fourteen metres hard top sports cruiser in the market featuring 3 cabins without giving up a full beam owners cabin. Then it features the innovative power from the IPS System by Volvo, which saves you about 40% in fuel bills, compared to a conventional shaft driven system. How about saving the environment and your pockets. The G46 also rewrites the way of planning boats for a 13/14 metre dimension and has made good mind of Volvo's highly praised system to the better use of more interior space. In fact to find a real competitor for the G 46 one has to look at bigger boats of over fifteen metres in length.
