Blu Martin presents the project for a new 55 Classic model, set to be based on the SeaTop 52 which debuted in 2010, with a complete redesign of the upper structure, now featuring a one piece side window, for a cleaner leaner more fluid look, with the addition of a large hull window spanning nearly the full length of this fully enclosed sport yacht.  The interior of the 55 Classic looks similar if not identical to what the SeaTop 52 offered with living main deck offering a C- shaped dinette and opposite galley, and a two head three double cabins lower deck, including of which is a full beam master stateroom.  The Blu Martin 55 Classic will also be very versatile for its power choices offered with twin Cummins or Volvo 600hp engines for ZF Zeus or IPS pod drives respectively, and Volvo 670hp with V-drive line shaft propulsion.

New Model: Blu Martin 13.90 Sea Top

Blu Martin headed into the important fall 2016 boat show season with a new edition of its popular 13.90 Sea Top.  Blu Martin's top selling model the 13.90 first series sold over one hundred units in a production span of less to ten years. The new generation for the 13.90 Sea Top wants to build on that and features a restyling by Valerio Rivellini, who for those that don't know is also the designer responsible for the highly acclaimed Evo 43.  Rivellini for this new generation of the 13.90 Sea Top kept the form and function of the 13.90 and has worked on creating a new hard top design; now more aggressive in looks, added natural light to the lower deck thanks to a large view window which spans all the accommodation area, and also updated the bathing platform design.  For the remaining the 13.90 Sea Top keeps the versatility of the first series, like the much appreciated three double cabins layout, or the choice for a two large bedrooms lower deck.  Power options are three Volvo engines from 370hp up to 435hp in stern drive or IPS propulsion choices.

Project: Blu Martin 13.90 Sea Top

Blu Martin shipyard, a Sea Engineering Group brand, is preparing to launch on the market, next summer 2016, an extensively revisited version of its bestselling Sea Top 13.90, a model particularly in vogue among the brand's enthusiasts. The newcomer retains the elegance and charm of the original model, while featuring a more modern style and greater attention to the comfort of guests on board. Increased live-ability for the external spaces, new windows and an innovative hard top makes the new Sea Top 13.90 lines even more streamlined and contemporary. Measuring 13.90 meters in length and over 4 meters in full beam, the new Sea Top 13.90 by Blu Martin includes two or three cabins, depending on the version, and can comfortably carry up to 12 people. The interior also comprises two bathrooms a spacious galley and dinette.  Turning to the external spaces, the bow sun pad will be even more spacious and functional, while a foldaway table in the outer cockpit will make for more comfortable use of the sofa, turning the area into a veritable lounge for ultimate relaxation on board. For the comfort of guests, the hard top has been modified to increase the opening surface. Moreover, the side windows have been expanded, so as to further improve ventilation and lighting.  In terms of design, the swim platform astern has been shortened by a few centimeters in the central part, so as to completely eliminate any spray-back, in addition to endowing it with a contemporary look. The portholes are more modern and rectangular in shape, and are dotted along a strip that runs along the entire side, considerably increasing the brightness of the interiors. The new design, inspired by the automotive industry, also encompasses the bridge, which accommodates all the instrumentation displays and improves ergonomics and steering comfort. Finally, the mooring equipment have been re positioned for greater ease of use while mooring.  Sea Top 13.9 retains the original model's characteristic and stylish hard top, allowing guests to use the large outdoor dinette in all weather conditions, as well as providing the necessary shelter from the wind when the boat picks up speed. With a cruising speed of 29 knots and a top speed of 31 knots, the yacht also registers the lowest fuel consumption levels for its category; 95 liters per hour at cruising speed with the standard Volvo Penta IPS 435hp engines. The high-performance hull has also remained unchanged, further ensuring low fuel consumption, a distinguishing characteristic of all boats in the range. The interior, two and three cabin layout, instead, has been revisited, as always with ample scope for customization, reflecting Blu Martin's construction and commercial philosophy.  Three engines are available: in addition to the twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pod drives, it is possible to install a twin 375hp also with IPS pod droves, or twin 400hp with stern drives.  The new Blu Martin 13.90 Sea Top will be completed by July 2016, and will be officially launch in France, at the opening of the boating season, during the September 2016 Cannes show.

Blu Martin New Web Site

Blu Martin presents its new World wide web showroom, to be exact it's version three. Founded in 2001, by Francesco Mauri, at first one thinks it is a young builder. But in reality there is much experience in Blu Martin with Mauri coming from over twenty years as building director with a renowned Como powerboat builder, and deciding to fund his own brand. Mauri work was soon made to fruit in 2003 with the launching of the first Blu Martin, the 13.50 Sun Top which becomes a huge success in the Italian market for its three double cabins layout and its T-top radar arch, so much that two years later a three part hard-top sister is added in the 13.90 Sea Top which follows and surpasses the success of the first model. In 2013 Blu Martin was bought out by Sea Engineering S.r.l. The company today features four models in it's range; ST 13.90, ST 48, ST 52, and ST 58. New Model: Blu Martin ST48

Blu Martin was one of the first Italian builders to put itself on the map for less to fifteen meters hard top sport crusiers, and today deserving so the company features a line up of six models all with an integrated hard top minus one.  The new ST 48 presented at the fall of 2011, marks a gap fill for Blu Martin between the the larger 52, and smaller successful 13.90 Sea Top.  In a length just a bit short to fifty feet the Blu Martin 48 ST offers a very impressive three cabins plan, with a large owners suite to fore, and two guest rooms to midship.  The living is all dedicated on the main deck, with a dining table seating six.  All the areas of the Blu Martin ST 48 are in fact made for making six persons living in comfort.  Power as many areas of the ST 48 and all Blu Martin models comes in a large choice offer from five engines starting at 370 up to 575hp from Volvo, Cummins, and Yanmar, and three propulsion choices; IPS pods, ZF Zeus, and traditional line shafts.

Project: Blu Martin 48 Sea Top

Blu Martin presents the project for the 48 Sea Top, a model which will sit in between the 13,90 and 52 of the same range.  As the other Sea Top models the 48 will be a hard top sport cruiser, with a patio door separating the main deck in two areas when closed, or joining them together when open.  The lower deck all dedicated to the cabins will offer three double cabins, with two shower heads, one of which en-suite for the owners room located to midships port side.  The VIP cabin is to fore.  A single bed crew cabin or utility room is available to midships starboard side. Power is from twin engines, Volvo 435hp or Cummins 480.  Propulsion is shafts, or IPS pod drives with the Volvo choice.

Project: Blu Martin ST52

Blu Martin surprise the market presenting the project of the ST52, which will sit in between the last year launched ST55 and the over sixty delivered 1390 Sea Top models. Measuring at an over all length just above sixteen metres, the latest Blu Martin will offer a three cabin layout, with a full beam owners suite located to mid ship. A single berth crew cabin is located to mid ship behind the owners suite. Standard power will be from twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pods which the yard estimates will give a top speed of 32 knots and a cruise of 27. Alternative more powerful options come from Cummins 600hp engines with ZF pods, or traditional line shaft choice. Launch and completion of hull number one is forecast for the fall of 2010, just in time for an official presentation at the October Genoa show.

New Model: Blu Martin S.T. 55

After much waiting Blu Martin finally launches the first of its new bigger Sport Yacht models the S.T. 55. This has been a much waited new model from the Como based Italian builder, aimed to grow with the clients who choose the successful 13.50 Sun Top, and 13.90 Sea Top. The 55 S.T. is a spacious three double cabin Sport Yacht with six berths and two heads. Standard layout offers full beam owners cabin with en-suite facilities, VIP cabin to fore, double guest cabin to port side, and a guest shower head. A distinctive feature for the new big Blu Martin is the separation between night sleep areas on the lower deck, and living socializing quarters on the main. The living area is situated upon entering the stainless steel four part patio door, and features an l-shaped settee to port, and a spacious l-shaped galley with entertainment module to starboard behind the spacious three person helm station. The new S.T. 55 wants also to differ from other open boats by offering deep and safe side passage ways, along with a cockpit with two lounge settees, and a garage with a 2.80 meter tender space aft. Engines are twin MAN 800hp or Volvo IPS900. As Blu Martin virtue propulsion is a choice to the upcoming owner with direct shaft line as standard, or Volvo forward looking pods.

Boat Review: Blu Martin 1390 Sea Top

Presentation

Blu Martin 1390 Sea Top is PowerYachtBlog April month boat review. The 1390 Sea Top was launched in 2005 and is the second model from this young builder founded in 2001, but with its owner Franco Mauri coming from an over twenty year experience in boat building in Italy and particularly in the Como area. The 1390 Sea Top is a natural evolution of the first model of Blu Martin the 1350 Sun Top, with its main differences being easily visible thanks to the integrated enclosed hard top, and the extended bathing platform aft which adds length by forty centimetres aft. Later on the 1390 Sea Top was also added with a new interior option of a 2 cabin 2 head layout along the 3 cabin 2 head, with this new version offering a full beam owners cabin.

Accommodation

Welcoming you in its aft cockpit the 1390 Sea Top has what is a normal standard layout for a Mediterranean Sport Cruiser, sun lounger aft with a tender garage underneath with space for 2.40 metre rib, c-shaped settee, complete exterior wet bar with grill washbasin, and a central positioned helm station which gives optimum all round visibility.

Below the option is for two distinctive layout choice. The later introduced 2 cabin version and the more popular by choice 3 cabin plan. The 3 cabin version offers a c-shaped settee to port side, a galley opposite to starboard, forward owner stateroom with private en suite shower head, two identical double cabins with twin berths which can transform to an inserted double VIP cabin, and a second guest shower head to port side having also its use as a day head. The 2 cabin version differs from the more popular 3 cabin layout by offering a full beam owners cabin in replacement of the two double cabins mid ship, and now offering an island queen sized berth positioned to the beam, offering also a relaxing settee to starboard. This two cabin version also gains a more spacious second head now the bigger on board, and a saloon settee which is a bit more spacious.

Performance

With a vee shaped hull monohedron with a 19.30 degrees aft, the 1390 Sea Top is just shy of the twenty plus deep dead rise which translated to more simple terms means high cruising speed wave attacking potential. An other interesting feature for the Sea Top is the various engine and propulsion choices. Engines start from the more economic and smallest option of twin D6-350hp Volvos, and goes to the big Yanmars of 480hp. Propulsion choices is from Volvo sterndrive which will give the better fast speed handling, to the do it everyone docking IPS Volvo pod drives, and goes to the more seaworthy shaft lines. Performance top speeds are 34 knots with the smaller Yanmar 440hp and IPS500 option, 36 knots with Volvo 350hp sterndrive and Yanmar 480hp, and goes to the most performing IPS600 which gives 38 knots of max.

Having a 2 version interior and an all propulsion choice give a wide spectrum of competitors to the Blu Martin 1390 Sea Top, but to be honest I expected much more to this. Competition criteria is made for integrated hard top, LOA in 13 metres, and a 2 cabin 2 heads full beam owners cabin or a 3 cabin 2 head. For classic three cabins interior look for the Airon Marine 4300 T-Top, and Windy 44 Chinnook.

Conclusion

Blu Martin 1390 Sea Top was a very well minded evolution of the 1350 Sun Top, and the well made design improvement of an integrated hard top similar to that found on bigger boats, was sure a turning point for the success of this model. The hard top along with a very comfortable interior, and added with a two interior plan option shows also that Blu Martin is very attentive to the clients request and suggestions. This also is shown by the wide variety of propulsion and engine choices, showing in facts that the North Italian builder tries to minimize the compromises made from choosing a boat, and suiting it to the clients needs in all aspects of the 1390 Sea Top being it the interior, or the technical point like engine and propulsion choice.

Following Sun Top 13.50 success, Blu Martin introduces its new flagship project, the Blu Martin S.T. 62'. This 18.70 metres sports yacht comes to light by developing the already successful concepts so greatly appreciated like practicality, extremely high quality materials and important standard equipment which are the shipyard's unique characteristics. The project revolves around the idea of creating a yacht that makes life on board simple with the rear closing and total opening of the cockpit, creating a unique space revolving around the dinette, at the same time offering an area of full weather protection. On her exterior, the Family feel has been maintained, though not renouncing to innovative solutions such as the opening Lexan covering and large piezoelectric liquid crystal obscuring glazed back. Blumartin presents the new Blu Martin S.T. 55', created to continue its project and to enable its devoted customers to grow together with the shipyard. Following the success of the Sun Top 13.50 and Sea Top 13.90 models there was need for a bigger model to enable the more demanding customers to plough the sea with a bigger more prestigious yacht. Developing the winning concepts which has enabled the Blumartin brand to make a reputation for itself in so little time and to be appreciated in every port, we have created the new Blu Martin S.T. 55', a sport yacht standing in between the big S.T. 62 and Sea Top 1390. The Blu Martin S.T. 55' brings together the stylistic experiences and solutions of the previous models: so here is the distinct division between the sleeping area and the living area. Below, the large cabins with two bathrooms and a nice galley, outside the cockpit living area, with a large leather sofa, a comfortable table and an equipped cupboard, enclosed by a back glass wall which shelters completely from the atmospheric elements and enables you to enjoy the ship in every season and in every weather condition. A large and safe side passage enables the guests to enjoy the entire 16 metres length of the ship easily, moving safely from the large stern sundeck to the comfortable bow cushions. Finally a nice garage contains a tender of 2,80 mts with rigid keel. The standard interior layout, contains a forward VIP double cabin, with direct access to the bathroom, a guest cabin with two single beds which can be turned into a king size bed and a full beam owner's cabin, midships with own private bathroom.
