Project: Beneteau Swift Trawler 54

During the 2024 Miami boat show, Beneteau announced an upcoming Swift Trawler 54 model.  Beneteau showed only one rendering of the 54, what would be the largest Swift Trawler to date, and second in size to the Grand Trawler 62 which debuted in 2022 and head lines the French builder's Trawler range.  Beneteau did not give much information on this new model, apart that it will have an eight hundred nautical miles range at nine knots, and is to be equipped with loads of efficient and clean energy solutions; from wind mills to solar panels on the hard-top and the coach roof as the above rendering shows.

Beneteau New Web Site

Beneteau headlining brand of Groupe Beneteau and one of the most popular production boat builders updates its global web showroom. Beneteau was founded 1884 in Vendee by fully qualified ship builder Benjamin Beneteau, who sets up a boat yard with the family name building trawlers for fisherman. 24 years pass and as any builder who beats the age of time Benjamin sets provocation in motion when in 1910 he builds the first engine boat called "Vainqueur des Jaloux", Conqueror of the Jealous in English which sets a lot of drama and also gets accused this is scaring the fish away. In 1928 Andre Beneteau son of Benjamin takes over yard management duties, and two years later he shows the way forward building "Le Jeannot" a faster design trawler which he christens Poursuivante, translated in English to Pursuer. It is 1945 the ending of World War II, which prompts Vendee and the fishing fleet of the area needing a total rebuild, and Andre pursues his creativity by presenting the first trawler boats with bridges. This is followed in 1955 with more tuna fisherman thinking creating the first live bait storage. In 1964 the third generation Beneteau boat builders Annette Beneteau Roux, brother Andre, and husband Louis-Claude Roux take the helm pursuing the road into recreational boats and the use of fiberglass as a building material. A year later passes and Beneteau exhibits for the first time at the Paris boat show presenting the Peches Promenade concept of fishing pleasure boats. 1967 Beneteau follows more its production instincts launching the Forban and Galion models which achieve great success and are followed by another break through of Baroudeur a pleasure cruiser with living aboard comfort. 1973 sees Andre Beneteau responsible for design present the 32 Evasion first two masted yacht from the brand, and two years later this is followed by what the critics call one of his best projects the Astroblade. Between this in 1974 Beneteau launches a still today model range, its first planning motor boat the Antares, and in 1976 the 30 First designed by Andre Mauric is presented. This also marking a line which is still as at today existent. 1981 sees designer German Frers present the 42 First, recognized at the time as one of the most stable sailboats. In 1982 Beneteau is recognized as the largest production boat builder of the time. A century has passed since its founding in 1984 and Beneteau goes public on the Paris stock exchange. This is followed by more production facilities two years later when Beneteau opens a new building plant in Marion, South Carolina USA. 1987 sees the launch of another line with the Oceanis designed by Philippe Briand, and another innovative 35.5 First with project by Philippe Starck and Jean Berret is launched. In 1992 Groupe Beneteau is founded today featuring twelve boat building brands: Beneteau, Jeanneau, Lagoon, Prestige, CNB, Monte Carlo Yachts, 2014 acquired Four Winns, Glastron, Wellcraft, Scarab all USA brands, and in 2018 Delphia from Poland and Seascape from Slovenia. Beneteau current line up features a total eight different ranges of sailing, motor cruisers, and motor yachts; which start with the First 14 and go up to the Grand Trawler 62. The motorboat lines are the following; Flyer, Antares Gran Turismo, and Swift Trawler. The smallest motor boat is the Flyer 6, going up to the 2022 launched Grand Trawler 62. Beneteau new web site takes you around with the following buttons; Sailing Yachts, Motorboats, Services, Beneteau, Events, News, and Dealers. The aft sun deck conceals an ingenious tender garage with electric door. The boat also includes an electric winch, making it easy to recover the tender back on board. This garage can also be used as storage space. Another clever functionality is the discreet electric grill housed in the extension of the sun deck, ideal for alfresco dining.  The cockpit of the Gran Turismo 45 is furnished with a vast U-shaped seat that creates a comfortable and convivial area for guests who sit facing the Wet Bar that features sink, fridge and ice-maker. On the lower deck, passengers first enter a spacious area filled with natural daylight streaming through the large hull windows. Next, they will be charmed by the warm, elegant interior with grey walnut and white lacquered joinery characteristic of the new generation of Beneteau Express Cruisers.  With its large fridge-freezer, dishwasher and numerous storage areas the main saloon is perfectly equipped to ensure passengers exceptional on board comfort. Project: Beneteau Gran Turismo 41

Beneteau present the project for a new Gran Turismo 41, a renewal in the express sport cruiser line which includes six models from ten to fifteen meters. The goal of the 41 sport cruiser was to build on the legacy of the Gran Turismo 40, well-known for its seaworthiness and beautiful design, while taking the practical features GT line a step further.  The Gran Tursimo 41 stylishly follows in the tradition of her predecessor and focusses on the comfort of guests on board. With her sporty hull and slender unpretentious lines, the Gran Turismo 41 immediately conjures up speed and elegance. This elegance is highlighted by premium trims and know-how, such as metallic grey paint plates reminiscent of luxury cars. The Gran Turismo 41 is designed to win you over, but she is also designed for guests. The purpose of everything on board is to make life easier. A substantial leap forward has been made with regards to practicality and style, in relation to the GT40. This can be seen from the new aft sun bathing area placed at bench height for easier access and creating a real lounge space. The forward sun pad as also undergone specific developments and now offers optional easily reclining backs and a retractable canopy, as well as courtesy lights. Another hallmark of the Gran Turismo 41 is that she is good for entertaining, as can be seen from the large U-shaped cockpit where guests can comfortably converse. In addition, the outdoor galley location makes it easier for everyone to enjoy a good time together. A key feature of the Gran Turismo 41 is the hard top and it is clearly one of Beneteau’s landmark innovations now copied by many. It combines the largest opening possible to enjoy the sun and sea with protection for all onboard. In comparison with the GT 40, the Gran Turismo 41 has extra windows so that the interior is bathed in a greater amount of light. The very large sliding roof, which comes as standard, gives further access to the open air, while offering protection if the need should be felt. The lower deck is ideal for comfortable cruising . Apart from the galley and the head, there are two private cabins, each with beds parallel to the boat’s centreline, offering optimum quality of life on board. The full-beam design combined with opening portholes make these spaces particularly comfortable and pleasant. The interior atmosphere is both modern and relaxing, using grey walnut for its elegance and light. The Gran Turismo 41 benefits from Beneteau Air Step hull launched by the French boat building giant in 2007 with the Monte Carlo 37, to gain efficiency and stability even at sustained speeds. Power for the Gran Turismo 41 comes ftom standard twin Volvo 300hp and optional 380hp with stern-drive propulsion, offering respective peak speeds of 33 and 38 knots, and 23 and 27 cruising.

Project: Beneteau Project E 73

The second model for the Project E present at Dusseldorf 2020 was the 22 metres long 73 designed for an eight guests and four crew accommodation plan. Beneteau is saying the Project E 73 will have similar accommodation inside to that of a 26 meter super yacht.  Careful attention has been paid to the flow of movement on board, to make crew circulation easier. A raised pilothouse is located midships, cleverly positioned between the main deck and the flybridge and accessed by a dedicated stairway.

Project: Beneteau Project E 62

During the Dusseldorf 2020 boat show, Beneteau presented its Project E.  A concept of modern Mediterranean explorer yacht Project E is the result of Beneteau's collaboration with Massimo Gino of Nauta Design and Amedeo Migali of Micad and capitalize on the highly successful Swift Trawler range of practical, spacious boats, with a considerable cruising range, and put Groupe Beneteau’s experience in producing luxury boats to good use.  These new explorer yachts will have a distinctive displacement hull, developed by Micad with the aim of improving their cruising range and efficiency, making it easier for owners to cast off on long-distance cruises. A satin wax finished wood, leather and elegant textiles make for a stylish interior and exterior, carefully designed by the experts at Nauta Design. Strikingly spacious inside, with volumes similar to much bigger yachts, and ingeniously designed, these large passage makers also have enough space to comfortably house a crew. The first model in the Project E presented here the is the eighteen meters long 62.  The Beneteau Project E 62 will a full beam of over five meters. Designed for six to eight people on board, the Project E 62 will have an impressive flybridge, one of the biggest in its class and size. The interior spaces are spacious and well-appointed. The galley can be completely enclosed. The VIP guest cabin in the bow, has a considerable amount of headroom, so that you feel like you are in a hotel suite. Comfortable and seaworthy, the Beneteau Project E will have a cruising range of up to nine hundred nautical miles.  Project E is to launch in Dusseldorf 2021 and so far we do not know if they will be a separate line or make part of the Swift Trawler range.

Project: Beneteau Gran Turismo 36

Beneteau present the project for the Gran Turismo 36, one of the eagerly awaited sport cruiser models for the 2019 calendar year. The Gran Turismo 36 is American-made, and is designed to USA standards of quality and comfort, while benefiting from the design ingenuity and expertise specific to Beneteau. She is the first boat in her category to combine comfortable cruising with outstanding handling and sensations similar to those of a small outboard thanks also to the Zipwakes tabs for improved stability when turning and under way.  The Gran Turismo 36 deck plan is innovative, with specific living spaces for use throughout the day.  For example a large built-in sun mattress on the foredeck provides a safe and pleasant place to relax when the sport cruiser is underway, and protected by a bimini top, it will quickly be adopted by anyone addicted to afternoon naps.  With an aerodynamic hardtop at the stern, complete with sliding roof, the Gran Turismo 36 combine protection and the joy of the open air.  Two bench seats face the sea in the driving station, so four people can enjoy the thrills of navigation, and an electric glass sunroof fills the whole area in natural light. Behind this a spacious cockpit lounge area which has room for up to seven guests.  Cleverly interlinked, the aft bench seats fold back and serve as headrests for the extensive sunbathing area facing the sea.  A small gate between the galley and the sunbathing area opens onto the swim platform. An outdoor galley located to starboard, is protected from the sun but offers plenty of fresh air.  The forward peak has generous space for a real owner cabin with a double bed and storage. An aft guest cabin provides two extra berths that can be brought together or separated depending on the crew on board. Midships you find a cozy lounge, a galley fitted with high quality appliances and a shower space, with a cubicle and washroom separate from the head.  The Beneteau Grand Turismo 36 as the smaller 32 is powered in inboard stern-drive or outboard power.  With inboard her maximum power is twin Volvo 300hp diesel engines, while with outboard a further more 100hp in petrol gas is possible.  35 knots of top speed is estimated with the large engine option.

Project: Beneteau Gran Turismo 32

With the project of the Gran Turismo 32, Beneteau and Italian designer Andreani rethink the nine meter sport cruiser with some clever touches of space usage.  This a sport cruiser made to please boaters looking for an innovative no compromise use of space layout with huge rethinking going into the outside space.  For example outside the Gran Turismo 32, feels a sport cruiser but when you start moving around it has the feel of a walk around with easy movement between the aft and fore deck, thanks to an asymmetrical layout, and an opening glass to starboard side which makes fore deck connection easy.  Below the Gran Turismo 32 feature a wal-nut finished interior sleeping four in a traditional two plus two layout; convertible dinette to V-berth forward, and a midships cabin.  Also it is important to point out to the spaciousness of the shower head located to starboard which features a separate shower cubicle.  But the surprises of the Beneteau Gran Turismo 32 does not stop here and beside the innovation of space usage outside, the success of this model might come from the fact that it is available in both inboards with stern drives, and or outboard powered engines.
