Atlantis New Web Site

Atlantis the entry Sport Cruiser and Yacht brand of the Azimut Benetti Group presents its new web showroom.  Altantis started its journey in the fall of 2002 with the 42, first model of the range presented at the Genoa Show of 2002.  Azimut-Benetti Group will buy Gobbi in the fall of 2001, the buy-out is made to copy Gobbi's assembly line production method and to offer an entry line of sport cruiser from ten to fifteen meters.  Gobbi was founded in 1960 by Angelo Gobbi and had in its forty years of history produced boats from three to fifteen meters in size, with its largest model the 50 Fly introduced in 1988 and produced till 91. Since 2010 Atlantis has renewed all the range now designed fully by NeoDesign of Biaggi and Salvetti.  This new direction was started in 2010 with the launch of the 48, and has concluded this year with launch of the new entry level 34, fifth model made by the new project studio and replaces all the previous models which where for the most part Gobbi designed extensions.  Atlantis current range features six models from 34 to the 58 flagship, and the trend setting day cabin boat 36 Verve.
Since 2013 and the closing of the Soriano di Gropparello facility in Piacenza, Atlantis has become a line of Azimut rather then a separate brand. With this Atlantis line is now featured in the Azimut website.

New Model: Atlantis 34

Atlantis 34, is the latest from the Azimut-Benetti Group’s Open brand specialist, and was created for the upcoming boating season.  This new entry model into the Atlantis family is a completely new design, an aggressive response by Neo Design and the design department of the Italian builder incorporating the distinctive style and features of the larger models. Engineering was trusted to renowned firm Seaway.  This model also further completes the family feeling of the NeoDesign now being a signature look to all the five models from 34 to 58 feet. exluding the 36 Verve.  Presenting a new model with a hull length of less than ten meters also signifies that Atlantis is  looking into the medium small sector. Atlantis 34 is the result of an impressive prerequisite, challenging to achieve: being contemporaneously a great open and a cruiser.  This means intensive effort was put into maximizing the open spaces as well as the interior areas, where you’ll find a master cabin separated from the rest of the interior in addition to a pleasant open space in the bow that is both convertible and well-lit thanks to the hull’s large windows.  The exterior cockpit covered with the hard top is also interesting for offering a flash single level area with an L-shaped dinette and lounger to port side, and wet-bar and helm to starboard.  The bathing platform is also quite spacious offering a space of 2.5 squared meters and can stow a tender of that same length.  Power is twin Volvo 220hp diesel engines which give a max speed of 32 knots and a cruise of 29 knots.

Project: Atlantis 34

Atlantis continues its range renovation with the project of a new 34 set to be launched coming October. As is all the new range since the launch of the 48 in 2010, the latest Atlantis model is again a work of the Team from Neo Design of Biaggi and Salvetti.  This new entry level Atlantis follows a lot of the features seen in last year introduced 38. For example the 75% hard top covered aft deck resembles a lot of the features seen in this much praised latest 38 model; from the C-shaped settee and chaise lounge to port side, to an L-shaped wet bar and helm to starboard.  Down below things change more as the Atlantis 34 follows the layout of a Vee shaped settee which converts to a double to fore, shower head to starboard, galley to port and a twin cabin to midships, this sleeping a total of four.

New Model: Atlantis 38

It was one of the most awaited models from Atlantis, which continues the We Are Open philosophy as started with the 48 in end Summer 2010.  Now the Atlantis range coming from the four hands of Salvetti and Biaggi of NeoDesign already features four models, including the new 58 flagship also launched in the fall of 2011.  The new Atlantis 38 follows the family feeling, and modern touched other NeoDesign models; 48, 44 and 58 with a very open layout, and the latest features to become important characteristics in boats this size.  Hardtop which keep air circulating, good sized bathing platform, flush deck cockpit, and an unexpected clever comfortable interior.  The owners room in the Atlantis 38 is to fore, with a midships cabin sleeping two having the option to be a twin or a double.  In the middle of the cabin area is the galley, and an L-shaped saloon.  Power is from twin Volvo, standard 260 or optional 300hp with stern drive propulsion.

New Model: Atlantis 58

Atlantis presented in Cannes its new flagship the 58 which makes itself the biggest model of the range ever built by the Piacenza, Italy based builder.  Before to this the biggest Atlantis build was the Stefano Righini designed 55 which started production in 2004, and was stopped in 2009. The 58 model which measures over 61 feet takes also place of the 54 as the biggest model of the current Altantis line up, and follows the new lines as started last year by NeoDesign of Salvetti and Biaggi with the 48.  The 58 also continues the We Are Open Atlantis philosophy for a very fresh exterior aft deck, although since then the builder part of the Azimut Benetti Group is also now showing rendering for an option of a four part patio door dividing the cockpit area.  The lower cabin plan apart having a C-shaped saloon, and galley in standard form offers three double cabins, with a full beam owners suite.  But the option exists here too for a replacement to the third cabin, with an office, or a gym.  Very original idea and rare to find for an open sport yacht of this dimensions I must add.  Power options are twin MAN engines of considerable power for the size of the Altantis 58 with standard being twin MAN 1000 or optional 1200hp.  Hull one which is powered by the bigger option has since its maiden voyage in early September from Savona to Cannes, and Genoa done recently a long trip up to Turkey which in its first sea trials delivered three extra digits to the predicted top speed of 38 knots.

Project: Atlantis 38

Atlantis continues its We are Open direction, with the presentation of the 38 project.  This model is set to be presented in a week's time in Genoa and follows the design direction as started by NeoDesign from designers Salvetti and Biaggi in September 2010 with the 48, followed with the 44 a month later, and continued with the just presented in Cannes new flagship 58.  The 38 is set to replace both the 35 Plus, and 40 models.  As is with the new Atlantis since 2007, the 38 also follows a very open pattern of the main deck, set for those clients who like to live the sea mostly in an airy fresh environment.  So while the 38 features a hard top, which makes easier use in Winter weather, the main deck is all about being open, free, and usable as much possible.  The layout here offers a C-shaped settee, chaise lounge pad to port side, with helm and wet bar to starboard.  Down below we have a two cabins layout, an L-shaped saloon which can convert to an extra twin berth, galley, and head with a door separate shower stall.  Impressive is the layout of the guest cabin located to midships which offers a very spacious double berth, and a nice relaxing sofa opposite.  Power is from twin Volvo stern drive with standard being 260hp or optional 300.

Project: Atlantis 58

Launching its new design direction as last year with the launch of the 48, Atlantis presents its new flagship with the 58 project set to debut in Cannes.  Just as the two models preceding it the 44 and 48 the Atlantis 58 is again a project of NeoDesign team of Salvetti and Biaggi, and here again we go for a very open sport yacht full of unique features. But apart space which the 58 offers in all areas, the new big Atlantis also has various options which can make it a different yacht for each owner.  Showing what was seen last year with first NeoDesign models, it is normal for the 58 to have one of the most spacious aft cockpit deck in this size. But this area is so large and offers some unique features that not talk about it is impossible, as the fully opening of the side windows to fresh the area with natural air, and dinette which sit and dine up to twelve people.  But the options are the face of the new Atlantis 58.  For example to stern one can have an aft crew cabin, or a large tender garage to carry bigger toys.  But down below the versatility continues in the three cabins plus dinette and galley lower deck.  The owner stateroom is a full beam and is located to midships, while a VIP suite is located to fore.  The third cabin comes in various shapes, in standard format this is fitted as a relaxing playing room with large TV area with a sofa that converts to a french bed, but on choice this can be changed to an office or a fitness area.  Power for the Altantis 58 is from standard MAN 1000 or optional 1200hp engines.  This last giving 38 knots of top speed.

Improve-it = Atlantis 44

Atlantis presents an important addition to its last new model the 44 launched the past October in Genoa now being the first boat to be powered with new Volvo D6 400hp engines.  This engine option adds to about two knots in top speed versus the previous twin Volvo 370hp set up now reaching 36 knots of max.  But apart this Atlantis also says the new twin 400hp engines also reduces RPM at cruising speeds which will mean lower consumption and better range.  The Volvo D6 400hp engine is currently the most powerful diesel stern drive in the World and currently the Atlantis 44 is the only boat in existence offered with this option.  Considering that the Azimut Benetti Group is not exclusive to Volvo engines this shows big thrust to the engineering, research and design department of the Italian builder.  This to he honest is not the first to come to the Italian group with ZF also experimenting its large ZF4000 pods first on the Azimut 62S.  Azimut Benetti Group of which Atlantis yachts makes part having been acquired as Gobbi in 2001 marks the entry level sport cruiser and yacht segment of the Italian company.  The Atlantis 44 is the second project to come from the hands of Neo Design of Filippo Salvetti and Marco Biaggi, who in the near future should renew all the range which was previously designed by Stefano Righini for the larger models, and Michael Peters responsible for the smaller cruisers.  The Atlantis 44 offers a two cabins lower deck with a full beam owners suite to midships.  The main deck offers a very open area with aft sun pad, as Atlantis started showing up with the 54 introduced in 2008.

Improve-it = Atlantis 36 Verve

A year after its debut Atlantis present the 36 Verve with a new important option, that of the Joystick for stern drives by Volvo. This continues the innovation philosophy which is at heart of the 36 Verve, that to be a technological easy to use single handled sport cruiser. The Volvo stern drive for joystick follows the principle of having each drive being independent, and thus making the 36 Verve ability to move side ways, or rotate on its own axis easily. This new option follows the 36 Verve uniqueness layout plan outside, and inside offering comfortable over night accommodation for two in a very spacious environment. Power starts from Volvo 300hp engines up till 370hp.

New Model: Atlantis 44

Atlantis presents the page two of its new direction with second 44 model debuting at Genoa. Important to note that both the new Atlantis models represented a full novelty and where not just a make up change to an old design. The 44 replaces two units from Altantis who both sold quite well, the 42 which was the first badged Atlantis, and the top selling Gobbi designed 425 SC. Young designers Neo Design who take over from Righini as expected bring a family feeling to the details shown on the 48 presented just about a month ago in Cannes. You have the open feeling with a hard top which is light on features, and the cockpit although smaller features a similar layout to the bigger sister with a sun pad aft, C-shaped dinette, galley opposite, and lounger under the windscreen. The interior has also a similar layout to the 48, with a full beam owners room, VIP suite to fore, galley, and a C-shaped saloon. Basically if you compare it to the 48 you miss a high low bathing platform, a smaller aft deck, and stern drive propulsion instead of line shafts. Stern drives do consume less to shaft or pods, although higher maintenance costs are to be had. Power for the Atlantis 44 comes from Cummins 350hp with an unusual for a European builder for having a Bravo Three dual propeller propulsion set up. So far there seems to be no Volvo option, we will see if this will change.

New Model: Atlantis 48

The Atlantis range renewal which comes with the partnership of the young studio of NeoDesign was finally presented officially in Cannes, with the first 48 model. Atlantis announced this collaboration with this new young studio a year ago, and the 48 does represent what eight years before the successful 42 did back in Cannes 2002, which was the first Atlantis model to a Righini design with at the time Gobbi project departments, and Azimut Bennetti Group teaming up. The new 48 replaces the eight years produced 47 which has been a good success for Atlantis in many markets. Taking some cues from the two most recent Atlantis models that are the 54 and 40, the 48 represents the next step of the We Are Open philosophy. That is a Sport Cruiser which yes has a hard top but feels open as possible. That means free airy spaces and a sleek low upper structure. Notes which stand out are the three sunbathing areas, the very open hard top, and wide open spaces. The cockpit of the 48 is spacious, full of open spaces and a layout similar to that of the 54; central sunpad, L-shaped settee, galley, sun-lounge, and helm station. Below you get a two cabins plan with a full beam owners master room with a central double queens berth and en-suite head. Completing the lower deck is a VIP suite located to fore, C-shaped saloon which converts to an extra double berth, and a galley. For tender stowage you have a high low bathing platform aft. Power is from twin Cummins 600hp with line shaft propulsion, good enough for max speed of 35 knots and a cruise of 33.

Project: Atlantis 48

Atlantis presents the new 48 project which sets its new course challenging itself and the competition. The 48 which will launch in a couple of days in Cannes replaces the seven years produced successful 47 which was a design of Righini and the previous project team headed by Angelo Gobbi. The 48 is a project trusted to the new company Neo Design headed by Fabio Salvetti and Marco Biaggi both coming from a previous experience with Officina Italiana Design, Riva designer office for a couple of decades now. If the words used for the adverts We Are Open had to be true for the previous models they surely take a new meaning in this very aggressive but at the same time clean looking Sport Cruiser. Neo Design challenge the most of the main stream builders with a low super structure, and moderately high free board hull incorporating a very open hard top. The roomy cockpit concept uses similar themes as seen on the bigger Atlantis 54 with a central sun pad aft, L-shaped settee, galley wet bar, chaise lounge, and helm station to starboard. Below accommodation is for two separate cabins with owners stateroom being a full beam mid ship, a VIP suite to fore, galley, and saloon. The Atlantis 48 will have a modified Vee closing in a 15 degrees dead rise aft specifically studied in its waterline lengths and angles which powered by twin Cummins 600hp should give a 35 knots top speed.

Improve-it = Atlantis 54

Atlantis presented itself to the Miami boat show with a highly customized personalized 54 model with graphics by Romero Britto. The famous Miami based neo-pop artist Romero Britto decorated the exterior of the current Atlantis flagship for its presentation at the Miami boat show, making it stand out as a floating art gallery. Romero Britto works are renowned with other famous brands as the Mini by BMW, Apple, Absolut Vodka, and Pepsi Cola. Britto's aesthetics combine really well with the Atlantis we are open philosophy. The Atlantis 54 which was a special boat for the Miami was sold quickly at the opening. Atlantis presented this innovative 54 to show its clients an open minded philosophy which means not only for the sports nature of the range, but also for listening to clients requests and challenges. The Atlantis 54 was introduced in the fall of 2008 and is a three double cabin sport yacht, which offers a wide open spaced main deck. Power is from twin shaft driven Volvo 775hp engines.

Improve-it = Atlantis 50x4

Following its introduction in the Azimut Benetti Group Yachting Gala in June 2008, the 50x4 from the Atlantis brand is now offered with further options and improvements to the inside for the interior, and for its power choices that is the heart of this versatile sport yacht. Atlantis proposes now the 50x4 with a new restyling of the area below decks, which concerns the décor offering more classic taste, and higher quality materials. The 50x4 has also been upgraded with new engine options, now offered with an optional twin Cat C9 575hp choice propelled with aft looking ZF Zeus pods, adding more power to the standard unit of the twin Volvo's 435hp IPS propulsion set up. Performance with this new engine option is for a 36 knots top speed, that is 6 knots more to the standard IPS set up.

New Model: Atlantis 36 Verve

The new route of Atlantis find its way to reality in the form of the 36 Verve. From the concept it was two years ago in the hands of designer Simone Desideri, then to the project announced officially this Summer, the innovative research of the Azimut Benetti Group never stops and this new model from Atlantis is testimony to this. The 36 Verve is a lot of boats in one challenging various categories like big center consoles, rib cruisers, and why not big open boats too. Desideri and Atlantis takes bit and pieces of these to offer an all new diversified unique Sport Cruiser. Its deck accommodation is superlative, with its deep walk around side passage ways, triple helm station, the exterior wet bar with grill, and the six person dining settee which can convert to a well sized sun pad. Still there is to be fooled as one would think the 36 Verve offers luxury above and has nothing below. Wrong again as the 36 Verve has a well appointed interior with a four berth accommodation in a spacious separate master cabin to fore, and a convertible c-shaped saloon settee. The lower deck accommodation has also a spacious galley, and a separate shower head. Performance is fast with the Volvo engines giving top speeds from 34 knots with the smaller standard D4 300hp, going up to 40 knots with the bigger D6 370hp option.

New Model: Atlantis 40

The new Atlantis 40 is a further development of the 39 model, adding to it a nice integrated hard top, a total cockpit redesign, and an extended bathing platform. These improvements will make this model a further hit in the market as it filled what was missing to make the 39 a good boat from a great one, plus the bonus of the integrated hard top. The cockpit now offers a clever redesign with a c-shaped settee to port, l-shaped wet bar opposite, and further sun lounger under the wind screen. Obviously the 40 will keep the grandeur interior the 39 offered which is among the best in its size and style of boat, offering two spacious en-suite cabins, plus the bonus of a convertible saloon. Power is from twin Volvo engines with three different choices, starting from the smaller 300hp for a top speed of 35 knots, to the larger 370hp, which give wide open throttles of 39 knots.

Project: Atlantis 36 Verve

The Atlantis 36 Verve is born of the Azimut Bennetti Group initiative to promote innovative students project in naval architecture, and to make them become a reality. Infact the 36 Verve which will see the light in less then a week at the Cannes boat show, started its life as a thesis project and as a 34 feet rib. The project was outlined by Simone Desideri in 2008, and caught the attention of architect Marco Amadio and designer Giacomo Toth. Since then it is history and the three designers and architects have been collaborating into what will be the new Atlantis 36 Verve. As we can see from the above rendering the 36 Verve will be a Sport Cruiser offering plenty of daily use accommodation, but without forgetting overnight comfort in a smart cabin set up. Some striking features are surely the hard top under the modern three seat helm console which still has an open feel, 3.5 square metres bathing platform, large sunpad which converts to a six person settee with table, wetbar behind the helm with its 100 litres fridge, and the walk around safety feel of the Verve. Down below the 36 Verve has a fore cabin and saloon with opposite galley offering a two plus two accommodation. Engine options are three units all Volvo Penta and all stern drive duoprop propelled, which start from the smaller D4 300hp up to the D6 370hp with a 40 knots wide open throttle speed.

New Model: Atlantis 47 HT

One of the most successful Atlantis models the 47, get renewed with the HT hard top version extending its future success for the coming seasons. The hard top is much a requested option in today's boats, and the 47 HT, gets this addition with a nicely integrated design, with fully opening sunroof, which when opened makes the whole cockpit a full sunny place, but with the advantage of instant closing if the weather gets nasty. Obviously the successful element of the 47 are still there, as the full beam owners cabin, or the spacious cockpit available also in Plus version, with two by l-shaped settees in replacement of the sunbed, making the cockpit of the 47 HT, among the most spacious entertainment areas in its class. Performance and sea keeping has always been among the most sought feature of the Atlantis 47, with twin Volvo 575hp each giving 38 knots of top speed, but also having a good fame for sea handling qualities, which are among the best in this size class of sports cruiser.

Projects: Atlantis 42 HT, Atlantis 425 SC HT

World renowned builder Atlantis updates it's 42 model, without changing much of the original shape but modifying the radar arch, now forward looking and adding a hardtop, following recent client requests and trends. As we can see in the picture the result is a great looking boat, and follows what was done on the 47 a year ago. The interior remains the same functional 2 cabins with en suite layout. Main deck cockpit up top is offered in two versions. A standard version with a c-shaped settee and a sun lounger which underneath houses a tender garage, what is a typical Mediterranean layout or else if the above is not good for you, Atlantis also offers the 42 Plus version with a different and roomier 2 c-shaped settees layout. Top seller for Atlantis brand, the 425 SC was projected by Gobbi before the company take over by the Azimut Benetti Group in 2001. As the case with the Atlantis 42 above and 47 before it, the 425 SC gets also the cosmetic add up of a hard top, aimed at continuing the 7 years of successful production this model has enjoyed. The hard top design updates the 425 SC to current market trends and follows what was done with the 47 HT introduced last year. Top selling characteristics of the 425 SC remain there, like the much admired full beam owners cabin unheard of in boats of similar size, but also the functionality of a boat which changed the way medium large sized sports cruisers look.

The new Atlantis 54 is developed on the 50 model hull lines, with main differences being the increase in the cockpit space now featuring over ten squared metres of main deck all in a flush one level area, and adding aft a retractable high and low extended bathing platform for tender stowage. The World wide presentation of the new Atlantis 54 was in the Cannes Boat Show and second premier happened in Malta during the Azimut Benetti Gala and the second edition of the Valletta boat show.
