New Model: Astondoa AX8

During the fall of 2023, and just making it in time for the Genoa boat show in September, Spanish yacht builder Astondoa debuted its new AX8 model.  An explorer inspired looking super yacht with a lot of spaces both inside and outside as designed by Christian Gatto, the AX8 is the precursor of a new line by Astondoa prioritizing spaciousness and living spaces to the maximum of its size and length, with exteriors that open to the sea and interiors with large ceiling to floor windows, which brings inside outside.  The Astondoa is also offered in two options for all its areas, from a separate or open with the saloon helm station in the enclosed-flybridge deck, to galley on the main or lower deck, and three or four double cabins.  The Astondoa AX8 also features an option for the fore-deck lounge available with a C-shaped dinette and bench forward or opposite facing settees.  Powered by twin Volvo 1000hp with IPS pod drives propulsion the Astondoa AX8 has a top speed of 23 knots and cruises at fifteen knots.

Project: Astondoa AX8

Since April Astondoa has started a campaign for the launch of its next upcoming model the AX8.  The AX8 apart being a new model will also be a fresh range and style for Astondoa, and what looks in these initial renderings as an explorer inspired motor yacht with huge exterior stern spaces.  The Astondoa AX series looks set to challenge the likes of Sanlorenzo SX series, ISA Extra, and Sunseeker Ocean line.  So far Astondoa is very quiet on details on a yacht which might do its official debut in the fall 2023 boat shows.

New Model: Astondoa 677 Coupe

Astondoa presents its new 677 Coupe an evolution and replacement of the 655 Coupe launched in 2016, and coming from a design of Christian Gatto. The 677 Coupe presents itself as the latest modern looking sport yacht thanks to its inverted bow, and endless window surfaces.  It is also a testament to form following function, from the safe walk around deck to its forward facing settee dinette which integrates with the fore-deck sun-pad, and double exterior deck layout.  Inside the Astondoa 677 Coupe come with important options from three to four cabins three heads layout below deck, to a galley up or down, and a choice of having a fourth day head with lobby in replacement to the galley or the fourth cabin.  The Astondoa 677 Coupe is standard powered by twin Volvo 1000hp which give top speed of 35 knots and a cruise of thirty. Alternative power options come from twin Man 1400hp with shaft drives.

Project: Astondoa 677 Coupe

Astondoa present the project for the 677 Coupe, an evolution of the 655 Coupe, which launched in 2018 also marked the first century of the family run Spanish boat builder from Alicante.  The 677 Coupe will keep the hull lines of the previous model but the super structure is changed now to feature a fore deck with a dinette and coming with a cleaner look to the hard-top, which is now more streamlined and sporty.  Also in the 677 Coupe Astondoa has decided to remove the solarium on top of the hard-top structure and with it the stylish but may be a bit too busy side steps which lead to this area on the 655.  The Astondoa 677 is available in two layouts; galley up with four double guest cabins below, or three cabins with lower deck galley and a main deck saloon all dedicated to entertainment.  The Astondoa 677 Coupe is standard powered with Volvo 1000hp with IPS pod propulsion which will give a top speed up to 34 knots, with Man 1400hp on traditional line shafts available as option.

Web: Astondoa New Web Site

Spanish Astondoa presents its new World wide web showroom. Astondoa was founded in 1916 by brothers Jesus and Jose Astondoa Marinez. In 1944 second generation Jesus Astondoa Santamaria joins the business and soon after that takes over the shipyard. But the real growth path for Astondoa starts in the 1980s when the Spanish builder starts to build in fiberglass, and after that in the nineties introduces the GLX range. This step will eventually lead to bigger yachts being build and Astondoa going into super yacht sizes over 24 meters. Astondoa has up till today build over 3000 boats and currently produces thirteen models from 37 to 197 feet in five different ranges; Coupe, Flybridge, AS, Century, and Steel. Astondoa current entry level model is the 377 Coupe, and the flagship is the 197 Steel project, and its latest model is the 2021 launched seventeen meter long flybridge motor yacht AS5. Astondoa new website is available in Spanish and English languages and takes you around with the following buttons; Menu, Home, Company, Dealers, Select, News, Contact, My Astondoa, Dealers Area, and Models. New Model: Astondoa As5

The Astondoa As5 is the result of the combination of the new contemporary design developed by Astondoa for its flybridge As range, first introduced in 2020 with the As8.  The new As5 offers a sporty character and contemporary design in the segment of seventeen meter flybridge motor yacht. The Astondoa design team excels at successfully adapting all the attributes of a large yacht on a flybridge yacht, but the As5 also claims its own personality, combining the elegance of its aesthetics with sporty details, taking inspiration from the automotive sector and the best supercars with which the Shipyard shares an innovative spirit. The Astondoa As5 offers a three double cabins layout with two heads, and single berth crew cabin aft.  Exterior space also extends in the bathing platform thanks to its two side opening bulkheads, and its aft deck is designed in a way to always offer a view to the persons seating in the cockpit.  The Astondoa As5 is powered by twin Volvo 725hp with shafts or IPS pod drives, and or Man 800hp engines with shaft propulsion only.  Top speeds are up to 32 knots.

Project: Astondoa AS5

Astondoa present the project for its second AS range model, following the AS8 here comes the AS5 a seventeen meter motor yacht, with a modern aesthetic and all around window surfaces.  Coming with an astern galley layout and opening bulkheads by the bathing platform, the AS5 offers the latest in modern entairtainment solutions.  Interior accommodation is for three double cabins; owners room at midships, VIP forward, and third guest cabin with twin berths to port side. A single berth crew cabin is located aft. The AS5 is also offered with hard-top as pictured above and or without for those who like a sleeker profile.  The Astondoa AS5 is standard powered by twin Volvo 725hp with line shaft propulsion.  Engine options are for the same Volvo engines with IPS pod drives or Man's 800hp.

New Model: Astondoa AS8

In the fall of 2020 Astondoa launched its AS8 model, a flybridge pocket super yacht which measures just over 25 meters in length over all.  The Astondoa AS8 presents its self as a modern looking super yacht with not so high free board, and a main deck all surrounded by glass.  Accommodation is the traditional four doubel cabins layout with owners stateroom at midships.  To aft is two crew cabins which can sleep to four persons.  The Astondoa AS8 is standard powered by twin Man 1600hp which give top speeds up to 32 knots.  An optional twin 1900hp engine is available.

Project: Astondoa AS8

Astondoa present the AS8 project, a 25 meter flybridge pocket super yacht, with a sporty profile.  Presented digitally from its head quarters in Alicante, Astondoa has not so far given any designer signature for this project, which might mean it was all made inhouse by Spain's largest boat builder.  Astondoa emphasizes Less is More, as the signature of the AS8 which shows that this is a 25 meter sleek yacht, with comfort to match same size but bulky looking yachts.  The Astondoa AS8 will offer a traditional four double cabin lower deck layout, with two crew cabins located aft.  The AS8 is to be powered by standard twin Man 1600hp with line shaft propulsion, giving top speeds up to 32 knots.  Optional Man 1900hp engines will be available.

New Model: Astondoa 66 Flybridge

Astondoa new 66 Flybridge maximizes the use of both outdoor and indoor space making this motor yacht that is ideal for an owner/operator or a captain and crew. The flybridge of the Astondoa 66 Flybridge can be customized for any lifestyle; it features a covered helm with a retractable sunroof and an outdoor galley that is joined to an open aft section. Astondoa can create custom settees, tables, sun lounges and covered bench seats that surround the helm, bringing company to the captain.  The bow deck has a spacious sun pad, just forward of the Portuguese bridge lounge with a table, covered by a retractable Bimini top.  Sturdy steps lead passengers from the flybridge to the teak aft deck where lounging and seating beckons those who like a bit of shade and a bite to eat. More stairs lead to a submersible and versatile teak swim platform with a lift system that can support a tender, PWC or water toys. The aft door leads to the engine room and crew quarters, which as an option can become a custom storage area with a beach club and day head as desired.  From the aft deck, doors swing out to reveal either an aft or forward galley or a bar with ice-maker, wine cooler, refrigerator and comfortable, stylish seating throughout, all while enjoying a single level, step-free salon. The long, tall windows bring in natural light, complemented by overhead LED strip and recessed lighting. Astondoa’s custom-built furnishings offer the 66 Flybridge salon many options for coffee and dining tables, leather seating and footrests which double as extra seating, sofas and a TV that recesses into handsome cabinetry. Below, the full beam, amidships master suite, invites peaceful respite. Ample storage, entertainment system and a luxurious en suite with double sinks as an option complete the setting. Of course, the decor is customized.  Three additional staterooms, including a bow VIP, all have en suite heads, large closets, storage and amenities to ensure total comfort.  The Astondoa 66 Flybridge comes standard with twin Man 1200hp engines and with additional power choices of up to 1250hp. Volvo 1000hp with IPS pod drives are also an option.

Project: Astondoa 655 Coupe

Astondoa present a new version for its 2016 launched 655 Coupe model.  The new 655 Coupe will feature new exterior and interior design. Highlights include her extraordinary side windows, the main deck galley and the spacious owner’s stateroom. Two guest cabins with ensuite bathrooms complete the boat’s night-time area.  The hull lines of the 655 Coupe look identical to that of the 2016 version, with a subtle change in the design form of the bathing platform, while the hard top looks to be having a complete redesing.  We have no detail on power choice but this should be the same for standard twin Volvo with IPS and Cat 1150hp or Man 1200hp with line shafts.

Project: Astondoa 82 Flybridge

Astondoa present the project for a new 82 Flybridge model, a new pocket super yacht set to replace the current 80.  The 82 Flybridge is set to be released in 2020. With a cutting-edge design from bow to stern, the Astondoa 82 Flybridge features a length over all of twenty-five metres and a beam of six metres, is distinguished by her large side windows and an innovative styling of the main deck.  The lower deck is home to the versatile owner’s stateroom; with two possible layouts and three other cabins, all with ensuite bathrooms. Two crew cabins complete the night-time spaces of this yacht.

New Model: Astondoa 377 Coupe

During the Cannes boat show 2018, Astondoa presented the new 377 Coupe.  The second model in the Coupé range, which represents the evolution of the shipyard towards a more modern, sporty, original, and bold aesthetics. The 377 Coupé is also Astondoa entry level boat for Spanish builder which spans in size up to a 197 feet project in its Steel range.  The 377 Coupe apart being a sport cruiser can also be labelled as a day-boat or a tender, thanks to its spacious cockpit.  Sporting a T-top and a full walk-around in its entire perimeter only with one step. it has three different areas: two sunbathing areas; at the bow and stern, and a third half-length area, which connects the galley and fridges space with the triple pilot seats in front of a modern center console helm station with harmonious and modern instruments and multi-function touch screens. The 377 Coupe also features a very useful store box under the stern sun-pad for water toys. Inside the 377 Coupe presents what Astondoa calls the lounge/cabin with its refrigerator and audio/TV system, completed with a spacious head with shower cabin, exceptional for its length, and a second cabin with two beds.  The Astondoa 377 Coupe is standard powered by twin Volvo 260hp diesel engines which allow for a top speed up to 36 knots.  Optional engines for the Astondoa 377 Coupe are twin larger 300hp diesel engines or twin petrol gas of 300hp.

Improve-it = Astondoa 80 Flybridge

For the Cannes boat show of 2017 Astondoa presented itself with an updated 80 Flybridge model. This new 80 Flybridge hull number five confirms the lines of the model launched in 2016, and adapts the successful unit to the shipyard’s updated designs, with inspiration from the modern shapes of the latest 110 and 100 Century and 66 Flybridge models. The success of this range now extends with new elements such as the side windows that offer extra light, the newly designed stern and the refined interior finishes.  Launched in 2016 the Astondoa 80 Flybridge has been a successful four cabin super yacht which opens the door to the large builds of over 24 meters of the Spanish boat builder.  The Astondoa 80 Flybridge is powered by twin Man 1550hp engines which give max speed up to 33 knots.

New Model: Astondoa 100 Century

Astondoa launch the second model for its super yacht Century range with the 100 model going into the water in mid Summer 2017. The new 100 follows the 110 which was launched in mid 2016. Astondoa design department for the 100 Century follow the theme of this range to the letter creating a modern super yacht with a spacious interior and a futuristic looking exterior design. In the 100 Century, the attention is drawn to the unmistakable characteristic of the Century range which have its own signs of identity such as the external design of the raised wheelhouse, and the semi wide body which allows for a full beam owners cabin in the forward area of the main deck. These details are all similar in the five models of the Century range from 90 to the 130. But the Century has other signature details as the large window areas throughout the boat, and full side decks from the bow to the stern on the top level.

Project: Astondoa 100 Century

Spanish shipyard Astondoa unveils the project for a new 100 Century. The official launch of the new model is scheduled for September this year during the Cannes Yachting Festival.  The new yacht is the second project of the Spanish shipyard within the Century range. As the first model 110 of the range , the shipyard’s design department has created an innovative but stable interior and exterior design for the new 30.50 meter yacht. In this model, the attention is drawn to its lines, an unmistakable characteristic of the new Century range which also has its own signs of identity such as the external design of the wheelhouse which is similar in the five models within the range, with large glass areas throughout the boat, a full beam master cabin setup forward on the main deck, and four large staterooms at mid-ship. Furthermore, an extraordinary high bridge, in terms of dimensions and access, allows to go from the bow to the stern without changing levels, with a panoramic view that provides privacy thanks to its side windows.  The Century range style is creating a recognizable elegance i the world of luxury yachts, knowing how to balance spaces and innovate with designs while respecting the taste and preferences of its owners, always creating each unit as a unique and unrepeatable piece.  The interior decoration is the work of Italian designer Cristiano Gatto which has adapted each unit to the personal taste of the owner, creating an extraordinary environment with solutions that meet the most demanding expectations of Astondoa customers.  Power for the new Astondoa 100 Century will come from twin MTU 2185hp which should give a top speed of 26 knots and a cruise of 22.

New Model: Astondoa 110 Century

Astondoa celebrated one hundred years in business this 2016 year, and what a better way to do it then to launch a new model with this important birthday for the Spanish boat builder.  Here enters the 110 Century, a three deck semi wide body super yacht with owners stateroom located on the main deck. As per Astondoa the 110 Century most important feature will be its bow deck area being one of the largest in this size.  Astondoa will follow the 110, with four other Century models from 90 to 130 feet.

New Model: Astondoa 655 Coupe

Astondoa celebrates one hundred years in boat business in 2016, and what a better way to celebrate then to launch a new Coupe range with innovative and specific design features.  The 655 Coupe is the first of this new range, which will feature three other models from 35 to 75 feet, all coming from the hands of Italian designer Christian Gatto.  The project for the 655 Coupe was presented as 62 in late 2015, at that time the two dimension images showed a shaded appearance with a few different lines to an unconventional current sport yacht design.  Now Astondoa and Christian Gatto break the mold of convention in what is certainly a new chapter.  A fully enclosed hard top sport yacht the 655 scores points for looking very practical and usable also as a day boat, see walk around and center console feel cabin deck.  Power for the 655 Coupe will come from the large Volvo 900hp engines coupled to IPS pod drives which will give a 33 knots max speed and a 26 cruise.

Project: Astondoa 110 Century

An important super yacht project for Astondoa, which will see a hundred years in business of boating for the known Spanish builder, hence the model name Century. It's been a long way for surely an adventurous one for the Spanish Alicante located yacht builder, and this new project 110 Century represents that turning point. Designed by Astondoa, and Christian Gatto from Italy taking care of the interiors, the 110 Century is a semi wide body two and half deck super yacht which due to its height feels much larger to what it actually is. The 110 Century will offer a five guest cabins arrangement; main stateroom on main deck to fore, and four VIP suites below.  Performance data is for a 24 knots max speed, 20 cruise with engine choice being by MTU; standard 2030hp or optional 2217hp.

Project: Astondoa 62 Coupe

Astondoa has presented on its website the project for a new 62 Coupe model.  So far Astondoa is showing minimum details of this upcoming model.  What can be seen from the above rendering is a sport yacht with an axe bow, and a hard top covered center console.  Contrary to its name the new Astondoa Coupe seems to be a very open model.  We will see if the feelings of the rendering will be confirmed when the model is launched.
