Aicon New Web Site

Aicon Yachts presents its new World wide web showroom.  Starting up in 1993 as a turnkey interior design solution for yachts, the company moved to Sicily in the Messina area in 1996, and in 1999 it showed its aim to become a boat builder. In 2001 Aicon launched its 56 model, designed by Fulvio de Simoni.  The first Aicon was an important success, which sold over one hundred units in an eight year production run and also received the 2002 Cannes World Yachts Trophy in its size. In 2007 Aicon acquires the down East lobster boat Morgan brand.  In 2012 Aicon closes its doors due to the 2008 financial and the 2012 Italian crises which hits the boating sector hard.  In 2018 American investors Marc-Udo Broich and John Venner buy the Aicon name and set out to prepare a plan for relaunch.  Currently Aicon is offering three models, a new Sergio Cutolo designed 66 set to be launched in the end of 2020, the 72, and the 85.  The new Aicon website takes you around with the following buttons; Home, Yachts, Aicon Yachts History, News and Events, Press Area, Contacts, and Login.  Aicon is also on social media with button links at the bottom of the page taking you into its Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.

Project: Aicon 66

Aicon yachts is back, having the brand recently been purchased by two American investors.  Aicon yachts was a success story which characterized the first decade of the second millennium 2001 to 2012, in particular for the 56 and 64 Fly models, and over four hundred boats delivered in a production stint which lasted about ten years, and featured ten models in sizes from 52 up to 85 feet. Aicon return comes from a new 66 designed by Sergio Cutolo, a motor yacht currently in advanced project stages. For Sergio this is not the first collaboration with Aicon having in the past collaborated with the Sicilian yacht builder.  The 66 project is inspired by the 64 which was by many revered as the best Aicon model in the ten year history of the brand.  The hull shape of the Aicon 66 is indeed a direct derivation from the 64 with improvements going in the underwater sections to create a drier ride.  Another feature of the Aicon 66 will also be for flexible interior layout solutions.

Improve-it = Aicon 64 Fly

Aicon decides to update and improve the 64 Fly model showing attention to its clients demands and at the same time maintaining the characteristics which have determined its success since being launched. The model displayed at this year’s boat shows has been enhanced with details which make it unique. Enriching details, from the teak ceiling of the cockpit as in the larger models of the Aicon range to the teak inserts which refine the exterior, upper part of the fairleads on the wale side, to the gold coloured inserts which characterize the two sides of the cockpit up to the ample flybridge now using all its space for entertainment, and the bathing platform equipped with tender lift. The Aicon 64 was designed by the company Style Center and Marco Mannino offering the owner and his guests sailing with relaxation thanks to a rational and harmonious use of space, in both the interior and the exterior. The Flying bridge, which has been made even more spacious and elegant, the saloon, dining area, galley are independent, and luxurious cabins are equipped to satisfy the needs in total comfort. The elements of design, such as the large, rounded, openable portholes, the elegance of the furnishings and the prestige of the details combine to define and exalt the livability of space aboard the Aicon 64 Fly. One of the most successful models in the Aicon fleet, the 64 Fly has proved popular thanks to a three or four guest cabins choice, nice exterior lines, and thirty knots performance.

New Model: Aicon 82 Open

PowerYachtBlog gives an exclusive preview for Aicon's new 82 Open, flagship of the Sport Yacht line and second biggest model from the Sicilian Italian builder. Announced over a year ago the new 82 Open goes into Super Sport Yacht size, and follows a family feeling design as seen on the 62 and 72 of the same range offering aggressive and flowing lines. This new Aicon also has an innovative integrated system of domestics and onboard monitoring, characterized by a centralization of all electrical utilities functions, and of the parameters of the hydraulic systems. This system presents numerous additional functions such as the automatic management of the power supply, with the possibility to choose which utilities an inverter feeds, the complete configuration and personalization of the controls, and a simple intuitive management of the alarms with automatic safety procedures. The system was realized by Aicon's own engineering department. Characterized by opening windows and hard top, the 82 Open allows one to experience the deck area with the sensation of being in a completely open space contacting the sea, in total sync with the living and cockpit. The streamlined external lines of the boat are also recaptured in the definition of the interiors with duo tone wooden essence copying the colors outside running through the layout of the decorating elements. The ample bathing platform with two staircases welcomes you to the stern cockpit, connecting the spacious bow sunbathing area by the wide side decks. All the outside spaces on the 82 Open have been conceived to experience cruising in relaxation, with maximum comfort in the ample and comfortable open-air dinette, the sunbathing area, or the settee with table located aft. From the stern cockpit through the stainless steel patio door you enter the living area which is characterized by ample picture windows to give a complete view of the sea and assure natural light in this area. The main deck accommodates a large meeting area with an L-shaped sofa and dinette seating eight. Opposite it, in addition to another double seat sofa, there is a hide-away LCD TV and on the left a comfortable fully equipped electric bar cabinet equipped. Located to starboard is the fully equipped double seated helm station. Down below is located the galley and the cabins. Two large opening circle shape portholes, which are a unique style element of the Aicon range, light up the full beam mid ship located master stateroom which features a beauty desk, an ample wardrobe and an elegant en suite bathroom with shower complete with water massage. Going towards bow at starboard and portside are the two guest cabins with double beds, and en suite bathrooms, with the VIP cabin with its full bed and roomy bathroom located at the fore part. The crew quarters located aft has two cabins for three persons and a separate bathroom, which upon request, is possible to substitute one with a small galley and dinette area. New Model: Aicon 58 Flybridge

Presented as a surprise in begining July, during the Aicon dealer meeting, the new 58 Flybridge is the new symbol for luxury and elegance from the Sicilian yacht builder. The Messina company, planed the new 58 to be the new top seller of it's range, and to become an important and successful motor yacht under 18 metres, following the success, the first Aicon launched model the 56 enjoyed in over 6 years of production. Based on the 56 Flybridge, which the new 58 will go on and replace the new Aicon is a motor yacht of style, elegance and refinement, making it extremely livable and comfortable. Aicon say the new 58 Flybridge was planned like a small Super Yacht, applying huge spaces and luxury in a flybridge yacht measuring less then 18 meters, with an important space organization creating great fluidity between outside and inside. Of extreme elegance and comfort is the flybridge area, with a spacious C-shaped settee located aft of the fly, and the saloon area with a luxurious open space feel joining itself with the aft deck. Other important design notes for the 58 is the big windshield, and the Aicon trademark rounded center big port hole view windows for the master cabin, which unlike similar design also open up to allow air. An other important selling note which was also part of the 56 success, is the 3 cabin 3 head layout, making the Aicon the only yacht of under 18 metres with a full beam owner cabin offering an en-suite head for all three cabins. Double Caterpillar C15 of 800 hp, power the 58, giving top speeds of 29 knots, and a 25 knots continues cruising, but as is the case with the 56 I believe bigger double 1000 hp engines for higher speeds lovers will be made available as optional.

Project: Aicon 82 Open

The Aicon 82 Open is the latest project from the World famous Sicilian shipyard, offering a sports power yacht with style. The new Aicon will be flagship of the Open line but also the first from this shipyard to be equipped with surface drive propulsion, offering the best in high speed performance and manoeuvrability. Exterior the concept follows what has already been a trademark for this young successful builder, with pure and elegant proportioned lines thanks to a streamlined coach roof design showing a sporty performing yacht. Inside the new 82 Open aims to offer the maximum comfort in an environment which creates harmony between interior and exterior areas. The Aicon designers call this new concept of a loft on the water with ample sized windows giving the idea of a free space. The same characteristic is followed in the lower deck cabin area, with the four cabins and respective ensuite bathrooms also able to create a very close contact to the exterior environment.

New Model: Aicon 75 Flybridge

Another exclusive first on PowerYacht, this time it's the new Aicon 75 Flybridge. So before you see it in the coming events and shows, remember that it was here first. The Aicon 75 Flybridge is a smart motor yacht with a modern design approach, showing minimal touches in some details like the forward pilothouse window and the radar arch, which for the pictured hull number one was equipped with a hard top. From my view I can also say that it has one of the most spacious flybridge of the category as it looks really big for a 23 mtr motor yacht, which would testify what is said on the Aicon website as being the focal point of the yacht. This brand new Aicon features 4 spacious cabins all with en-suite heads and 2 crew cabins for 3 members sharing 1 bathroom. The main deck has an innovative design especially in the sociable living area with 2 saloon settees on either side, looking forward you find the dining area with an 8 person dining table. The galley is in the middle being an innovative feature as this is usually on the side and creates a separation between the two areas, living and working creating superior comfort for the guests and people onboard.
