Project: Sabre 66

It's been a long way for Sabre who first began building 28 foot sailboats in 1970, and in 1989 entered the power market with the 36 Fast Trawler. To date the largest Sabre motor yacht offering is the 54 Salon Express and Fly Bridge which debuted in 2011, and soon this model will also receive an interior design update the first of which will show at the 2014 Miami show coming February.  But owners of the Sabre 52 launched in 2007 and its natural evolution the 54 have asked the South Casco company to make the next step, and Sabre seems to have replied announcing the project of the 66 which will make its debut in mid-2015.  The 66 is a very exciting project, and will be fully built in Sabre's Rockland facilities.  She is to be designed by Sabre's own in-house team led by Kevin Burns, who has been busy with this project for some time, developing hull shapes, deck styling and of course, mechanical and interior layouts. The 66 will be equipped with Volvo 900hp IPS1200 pod drives and will cruise in the mid twenty knot range. Her displacement will be of around eighty tons.  Her interior will feature three large cabins with a large full beam midships master stateroom.  The main is the central social connectivity area of the cockpit and interior spaces is the key to this open and airy layout.  A small astern galley is a step away from the aft cockpit, with a large full gourmet style kitchen located below in the middle of the cabin area.
